Chapter 40 - chapter no 39

What is love?

I don't know! Do you?

When I was younger

I thought it was something

Like I read in fairytales,

It can bring life back,

heal wounds and make you happy.

But now I know,

The thing that hurt you most,

And make you dead alive is called

LOVE...

e was at the police station, busy talking to the S.P. when he noticed her at the entrance. He gritted his teeth and got up from the chair excusing the officer and approached her, holding her arm he took her to a corner.

"I've to tell something..." she tried to say but he cut off her sentence and growled in a low voice.

"You're here and your parents are damn worried sick about you. Already we're dealing with Amy's and now you're adding salt to the injury." It was against the Hisham she had known since childhood. His eyes were all red. She gulped with fear looking at her surroundings trying to keep herself calm. He was never that much furious before. She was terrified to say a word.

"Calm down dude! You are terrifying her." Tabriz appeared out of nowhere and patted his shoulder lightly. Hearing him he released a breath closing his eyes for a while and making fists of both of his hands punched the nearby wall lightly trying to control his anger.

After a few minutes he turned to her with sudden jerk and she took a step back immediately holding her hands in front of her face as defensive stance. He sighed getting why she did it.

"Why you are here?" He asked with a straight face.

"I think I know who did it." She said it fastly with her eyes shut tightly and holding her breath. Everyone was shocked at her statement.

"Repeat it? What did you just say? Are you in your right mind?" Tabriz was the one to speak at first. Shabby too came to them hurriedly as he entered the station. He was out to get some water from the vending machine.

"When I was sick and visited hospital with father, your cousin came, the one who came for Amy's proposal and asked me for help to get her. I didn't replied him but he gave me his number and said to contact him. The day after that she was missing." She told everything honestly. Her eyes were fixed on her shoes. Tabriz looked at Sha'ban and Hisham reluctantly.

"And you were silent by all the time. Why didn't you tell us before Zainab?" Hisham shouted at her. Tabriz held his shoulder to ask him to calm down.

"I didn't because I forgot it. I didn't think that it might be his deed. As I recalled it I considered it necessary to inform you by myself." She replied in louder voice than him. She could never bear anyone shouting at her so she too lost her temperament.

"It's police station please! Keep your voices down." The constable warned them.

"Where's the number? The one he gave you? And Shabby!take her back. Don't leave the house alone, take Safi with you." He spoke in a composed manner after a few moment's silence. She took a paper out of her bag and gave it to him. He gave it to the officer sitting at the computer table and asked him to check that. Sha'ban took her out to send her back to home by himself. He couldn't send her alone after what happened to Amy.

"Here.... check if the number is on and track it down." Hisham instructed and sat by his side. His phone buzzed in his pocket, he took it out and looked at the screen. It was her sister. He attended the call.

"We've reached location of the necklace, it's in the outskirts of the city, near some small town, some fields but..." She gulped from the other side of the call. She was there with the police team with her. It was a serious matter related to her family so she decided to go with them. She was a great hacker and because of her talents she was always found at police station. His uncle was a policeman so it was easy for her to be there.

"But?"

"But she's not with the necklace. Its found broken on the roadside. It seems like it's left here for many days." His headaches were getting worse by the time. He pinched his forehead between the eyebrows breathing shakily. Her words were reckoning his nerves.

"We've investigated the whole town and no one know anything about that. We decided to follow the trails but its ruined. No clue."

"Please, say you're kidding." He was repeatedly saying it under his breath. The phone call was ended. His hand with phone fall into his lap.

"So... does it mean.....I'm late?" He asked himself not wanting to believe what he was saying.

"Why don't we check hospitals nearby that town? Maybe she got into any accident and we could find her at the hospital. You should be positive." Tabriz tried to encourage him.

"Yes, call them again. Ask them to look in the hospitals." S.P. ordered his man. He nodding his head contacted his teams to look for her in the hospitals. They were spread everywhere in the city.

"She would've been found until now if you had done like it before." He slammed his hand on the table and said bitterly.

"What do you mean young man? We were not laxing the whole time. The roads were almost blocked for whole 2 hours because of enhanced security. It was our record breaking jam in the city. It's a federal city and we can't do it for just anyone's sake coz people have jobs." S.P. sarcastically replied.

"And we don't have any idea about your personal and whatsoever are your issues clashes. Your family never considered it to tell us their doubts. If we knew about the matter or that GPS tracker, we would've done it already. Now it's been 5 days and what can't happen during that much time? They might have left the country or moved to another city, maybe another province." They were stunned at the bitter truth he told. He threw his head on the back of the chair squeezing his eyes shut.
