Chapter 71 - Chapter 70: I, Tom, will never let my friends take the blame for me!

"One against eight, and not losing. You're worthy of my support."

As Levid passed by Tom, his left hand effortlessly passed through the armor charm surrounding him and patted him firmly on the shoulder.

"Why are you here?"

Tom asked with a straight face.

"Well... I just happened to be strolling over here, and I sensed your magic fluctuations were very strong, so I couldn't help but come over to check it out... Oh, that fuchsia is used quite well."

Levid said, observing the unfortunate people lying around with interest.

"Where's Annie?" Tom asked, noticing that Levid came alone.

It was obvious that something was wrong with Annie, and her target seemed to be Levid, which Tom had noticed.

Therefore, he was curious why Annie didn't follow him.

"Well... when we were passing a certain staircase, it happened to move, and she didn't follow, so we temporarily separated," Levid said casually.

Tom was well aware of Levitra's abilities, so Annie had most likely been quietly brushed off by him on the way.

Sure enough, the slightest worry she had felt earlier was unnecessary.

This guy, a perpetrator of evil, was so likely to fall so easily.

"You two, are you treating us like air?" the senior student said coldly.

He'd been putting up with the two bastards for a long time.

If he hadn't been a little wary of Levitra's effortless armor spell,he would have hurled several curses his way.

  "Who are you?" Levitra asked.

"Andrei Shafik," the senior student replied proudly.

"So you're from the Shafik family..." Levitra nodded, then smiled.

"You're able to stand your ground against Tom, proving you're truly capable.

So, how about it? Do you want to join me?"

Tom looked at Levitra in surprise.

"I thought you were here to save me, but you're here to recruit me?"

Andre sneered at Levid. "Just you?"

  "Yes, just me."

Andre's smile froze instantly as he realized the voice was coming from behind him!

Levid, who had just been in front of him, was now standing behind him without him noticing!

He finally understood why Abraxas, a third-year student, was going to take on a freshman while asking for help from fifth-year students!

There was something wrong with this guy!

Andre turned without hesitation and cast a Stunning Spell.

  "Bang!"

The sound of the spell hitting a body echoed.

But Andre's pupils suddenly constricted.

He realized that the person standing behind him wasn't Levid, but the first-year student who had been standing behind him.

The unfortunate person had been knocked unconscious by his Stunning Spell.

And Levid... was still standing beside Tom!

It was as if everything he had just seen was an illusion!

"How...how is this possible?

What on earth did you do?" Andre stared at Levid, his eyes filled with fear.

Since the opponent could directly affect his senses, it meant he could knock him down at any moment, even... control him to do things he would never normally do!

Andre pondered this with utter horror.

At this moment, he felt an unprecedented pressure from Levid!

Tom watched with similar shock.

Even though he had witnessed this more than once, he could still sense the terror of Levid's nameless magic!

Levid hadn't even moved, yet Andre was instantly hallucinating! This ability was truly unfathomable!

This made Tom even more certain that Levid hadn't taken his previous, clumsy plots seriously!

Otherwise, he wouldn't be standing here in good health today...

Meanwhile, just as Andre was about to give in to the pressure,

"Merlin! What the hell is going on here?"

From the other side of the corridor, young Professor McGonagall hurried over.

Tom paled at the sight of the professor approaching.

Dumbledore had told him back at the orphanage that he was not allowed to use magic to attack others.

From that time on, Dumbledore kept a close eye on him, fearing he might make another mistake and abuse the magic he had learned...

While today's incident was justified, it was also true that he had knocked down his classmate on the first day of school.

Tom wasn't afraid of being punished, but what he feared most was that Dumbledore would keep a closer eye on him!

What if Dumbledore changed his mind and insisted on finding him a guardian? That would be disastrous...

Of course, Tom's biggest fear was that Dumbledore would expel him from Hogwarts!

At this point, Tom didn't really know Dumbledore very well, he only knew that he was very strict with him, so the more he thought about it, the more scared he became.

"You've really gotten into this! It's only the first day of school and you're already fighting each other!

And against students from the same house! Since you're so energetic, you should all go to detention! For a month!

Mr. Ogg keeps complaining about being short-handed when he patrols the Forbidden Forest lately!"

Professor McGonagall was a stickler for mercy, especially when it came to a student brawl... And the most important thing is, these students are all Slytherins!

There was no reason for her to show any mercy!

The other students who had just been rescued shuddered at the news of their detention in the Forbidden Forest.

Slytherin students have a sense of righteousness, and they always stay away from the Forbidden Forest, said to be teeming with dark creatures at night.

They weren't Gryffindors, so the prospect of being thrown into such a dangerous place for a month terrified them all.

However, Levid's eyes lit up.

He had certainly been to the Forbidden Forest before, and he had a keen interest in it.

Unfortunately, he was not familiar with the routes in the Forbidden Forest, nor did he know what kind of potion materials were found in which places.

Of course, he did not know which area contained any magical animals...

But now, if he was put in solitary confinement, it meant that a professional would lead them to tour the interior of the Forbidden Forest.

By then, he'd be able to learn as much important information about the Forbidden Forest as possible from Mr. Ogg!

Therefore, he absolutely had to be confined!

However... he seemed to have just arrived and hadn't done anything, so he might not be punished. Then...

Li Wei De turned to look at Tom, only to see that his face was pale and his eyes were panicked...

Li Wei De knew Tom's past very well, so after just a moment's thought, he understood what Tom was afraid of.

While Professor McGonagall was sternly questioning Andre about what happened, Li Wei De quickly whispered to Tom, "I know what you're thinking.

Otherwise, you can just put the blame on me! Just pretend that I beat them all up!"

Tom looked at Li Wei De in shock, "How can that be? It was clearly me who injured them... and they're not mute.

I'm afraid they'll all tell the professor soon.

How could the professor not know that it was me who did it?"

"Don't worry, I have a way to make them say what I want them to say," Li Wei De said calmly.

Tom immediately remembered Li Wei De's magical, hallucinogenic magic.

It seemed... he could really do that!

Tom hurriedly spoke again, eagerly, "If that's the case, why not just put the blame entirely on them?

Just say we're new here, wouldn't that be enough?"

"They're here to deal with someone, that's for sure... Oh, don't worry about that, just put the blame on me."

Levitra, who wanted to enter the Forbidden Forest, was halfway through his explanation when he gave up.

Tom was too clever, and now he was becoming increasingly difficult to fool.

No matter how he made up his excuses, they felt flawed, so Levitra simply gave up.

But this half-explained thought struck Tom as a sudden realization.

Tom felt that Levitra's magic might not be perfect.

The objective fact that they were here to deal with someone might not change much.

It would only shift their perception of that goal from him to Levitra...

So, Levitra was trying to take the blame for him!

"You... why are you doing this?"

Tom said in a deep voice.

"This has nothing to do with you!"

"Why so many whys?"

Levitra said impatiently.

"Just say what I tell you to, or I'll do something to you later!"

  Tom fell silent.

It turned out his earlier suspicions were all true!

This Levitra guy... actually considered him a friend!

Otherwise, why would he, upon guessing his concerns, immediately and without hesitation take the blame for him?

Sure enough, all his earlier negative assumptions were based on a petty bias!

Thinking back to how he had just nearly defeated seven or eight people, using almost all the techniques and magic Levitra had taught him,

Tom felt a surge of anxiety.

If Levitra was truly hypocritical and had treated him so badly, how could he have possibly learned so much from him?

Levitra suddenly asked, "By the way, you didn't use any harsh force just now, did you?"

  "No," Tom shook his head.

Levitra said, "That's good... At least, I don't have to worry about getting fired."

  Tom:?!

Tom's emotions grew even more complicated.

Just as Tom was feeling this way, Andrei finished his confession.

They had come to confront Levander and Tom in the first place, but because Levander wasn't there, they only encountered Tom...

So, Levander's ability to change their perceptions wasn't as difficult as they'd imagined.

He simply led them to believe that Levander had been there from the beginning, and that they were all defeated by Levander, not Tom!

Of course, the nightmare magic wasn't as flawed as Tom imagined.

Levander simply wanted to be confined in the Forbidden Forest, so he hadn't completely changed their perceptions.

Otherwise, this would have turned into a brawl between Andre and the others...

Professor McGonagall tried several times before finally lowering Abraxas from the air.

A flicker of surprise flashed in her eyes; she had never seen such a spell before.

Professor McGonagall walked towards Levander and Tom, glancing at Tom before staring intently at Levander.

"I've pretty much figured out what happened, but regardless, you've all violated school rules, engaged in a private fight, and even cast a spell in the corridor... I have no choice but to punish you!"

Professor McGonagall turned and glanced at the dejected students behind her.

"Because of the offenses committed by the nine of you, Slytherin will be deducted 180 points!

And you'll all be serving a month's detention!

When you receive the notice, report to Mr. Ogg on the appointed time!"

This punishment is quite severe. Not only will you be sent to the Forbidden Forest for detention, but each of you will also have 20 points deducted!

It's only the first day of school, and no doubt many Slytherin students will feel devastated when they see the scoring gem after class...

Tom, who was standing nearby, heard this.

180 points deducted, meaning... as the culprit in this incident, he actually received no punishment at all?

In other words, Levander had indeed changed their minds, making them believe that it was Levander, not him, who had committed the offense!

"Alright, all of you follow me. I need to take you to your headmaster, Professor Slughorn, and explain the matter to him!"

Professor McGonagall said.

Tom stepped forward. "Professor, I..."

"As far as I know, this matter has nothing to do with you, Mr. Riddle."

Professor McGonagall frowned.

"I... I don't think you should punish Wade for this."

Tom took a deep breath and said, "You can't let Wade choose to endure these people's unprovoked attacks without fighting back!

Strictly speaking, this is bullying!

And we are the victims! If you insist on punishing the victims, then count me in too.

Just now, I Anyway, if you had come a little later, I would have already taken action!"

Professor McGonagall heard this and began to ponder.

Wade immediately turned around and glared at Tom. "Tom, what are you doing?!"

Wade felt numb. He was about to succeed, but Tom came out and talked nonsense!

Something unexpected happened!

What if Professor McGonagall was persuaded and didn't let him go to detention?

Sure enough, after a moment's hesitation, Professor McGonagall's tone softened.

"Well, in that case, I'll leave it to your Headmaster to decide whether he should be put in detention.

However..."

Then her tone turned stern again.

"He did resort to violence, so points will still be deducted!"

A few minutes later, the group followed Professor McGonagall dejectedly towards Professor Slughorn's office.

Levitra and Tom followed at the end of the group.

"Tom, what are you doing? Didn't we already agree on this?

Why are you saying so much?

Now you're causing trouble!"

Li Weide said angrily.

Tom just walked by silently.

Anyway, he would never admit that he couldn't just sit back and watch this guy get locked up for him!

Of course, it wasn't because he felt guilty about a friend taking the blame for him!
