Chapter 56 - Chapter 55: Senior, what's your name?

While Levitra's words to Dumbledore were intended to gain his trust, they also reflected Levitra's concerns about ancient magic.

He was speaking the truth.

Therefore, Dumbledore's response provided Levitra with considerable inspiration.

For example, ancient magic had no side effects.

His own intense desire for ancient magic was simply his own desires at work.

He recalled how he had previously rejected the "senior"'s request.

And after performing the ancient magic, he had resisted the urge to return to the "senior" to change his mind.

All of this demonstrated that he had indeed effectively controlled his desire for more ancient magical power...

However, while Dumbledore believed in his ability to control it, Levitra himself remained skeptical.

Hadn't the "senior" previously claimed in front of her teacher that she could control her desires?

The results weren't good...

Dumbledore saw Levander's frown furrowed, and knew his words hadn't reassured Levander about his control.

"Vedder, always remember, you're not 'fighting' alone. As your professor, it's my responsibility to help you master ancient magic."

Levander gave a helpless expression.

"If I hadn't used this power, wouldn't everything have been fine?"

"The fact that you can control yourself from using this power is a testament to your exceptional self-control, Vedder...

However, in my opinion, it's better to open up than to close. If you control yourself from using ancient magic, it's too difficult.

It's better to use it with confidence.

Just control the degree to which you use it... that way it's much easier."

Dumbledore sighed again.

"It's a pity that the senior disappeared shortly after graduation.

Otherwise, she would have been the perfect person to teach you ancient magic."

  Levander fell silent.

He had just returned from that "senior" visit.

Furthermore, that "senior" herself hadn't been able to control her own desire for ancient magic, and her fate was tragic.

It still lay like a popsicle in a corner of the stone chamber.

However, since Dumbledore had said so...

Levander figured it wasn't impossible for him to try ancient magic.

After all, he had Dumbledore, the master of self-control, to help him.

Dumbledore, to avoid becoming like Grindelwald, had steadfastly avoided anything connected with power for decades!

Even as Headmaster and even Chief Wizard of the Wizengamot, he remained completely out of the loop.

This must have been incredibly difficult for Dumbledore, who had aspired to reform the world from a young age.

So, when it comes to self-control, Dumbledore can truly be called a true master!

Of course, his inability to control himself and wearing the Resurrection Stone ring, which resulted in him being cursed, wasn't a sign of poor self-control.

After all, the source of his immense self-control was his own deceased loved ones. And the Resurrection Stone would allow him to see his family again.

It was like he'd hit a soft spot...

Levvid also felt he had reached a conclusion regarding whether ancient magic had harmful side effects on the human body.

Given Dumbledore's consistent stance on the Dark Arts, if even he considered ancient magic to be fine, then what else could it possibly be?

Dumbledore's approval was certainly quite valuable!

After Levvid considered it carefully, he spoke with Dumbledore again.

Then, piecing together various pieces of information, Dumbledore had a general understanding of what had happened that night.

Levvid, drawn to the power of ancient magic, journeyed to the Forbidden Forest and obtained a vial of ancient magical power.

There,he happened to run into Aurelius, who had just met Nagini.

Perhaps Nagini's renewed mental confusion had triggered Aurelius's descent into despair, pushing him to the brink of losing control.

While rushing back to report the news, Levvid was attacked by the now-mad Nagini.

Levvid then used ancient magic to capture Nagini and brought her back to Aberforth.

Aberforth informed him again, then brought back the recovered Aurelius...

Of course, Dumbledore's conclusion was also guided step by step by Levid.

However, he still had to find a way to get Aurelius to confess, otherwise it would be bad if he let the cat out of the bag.

After all, Levid knowing ancient magic at his age made sense, but being able to skillfully use Apparition... that was a bit harder to explain.

No matter how talented a person is, there are always limits.

Fortunately, Aurelius remained unconscious.

After Aberforth learned the general outline of what had happened from Dumbledore, he decided not to question Aurelius.

It would be disastrous if he stirred up his sorrow and stirred up his finally calmed emotions again.

Each transformation into the Obscurus was extremely damaging to Aurelius.

He had only managed to hold on until now thanks to his immense self-control… he had barely transformed in recent years.

After understanding the full extent of the situation from Levid, Dumbledore allowed Levid to return to rest.

He then left the Hog's Head Inn with Nagini.

Levid's earlier assumption was correct ;

Dumbledore always found a solution to such troublesome situations.

When Levid returned to his room, Tom was soundly asleep, and Toby was also dozing off.

Levid knew why Tom was so sound asleep. As for Toby, he hadn't noticed even after his absence, clearly under the influence of the "senior's" nightmare magic.

She didn't want anyone to know Levander had left the tavern.

Levander patted Toby's shoulder, waking him from his sleep.

"Toby... Toby actually fell asleep!"   Awakened, Toby was horrified, having disobeyed his master's orders!

"No, I just cast a spell that puts you to sleep.

I have something I need to keep secret from everyone, including you.

Okay, go and get some rest.

Just prepare some porridge for breakfast tomorrow morning.

And remember to keep this a secret."

"Is that so? Isn't that Toby's fault? That's good, that's good...

Toby understands!

Toby will complete the master's mission!" Toby left, still shaken.

For a house-elf like Toby, directness is most effective.

After Toby left, Levander quickly fell asleep using nightmare magic.

Reentering his own dream, Levander quickly woke up and began to modify it.

Soon, his dream transformed into a garden strikingly similar to the one his "senior" had dreamt.

Levander then began to call out from his dream.   "Weirdo?"

"Dream maker?"

"Senior?"

The dream was silent, and Li Weide's voice caused waves of echoes.

The lack of movement made Li Weide a little confused, and he didn't know if the other party could hear his call.

"Here."

Li Weide turned around and saw that the "senior" covered in black aura had sat down in the pavilion at some point.

"I didn't expect you to come and chat with me so soon.

And... how did you know I like gardens?"   Li Weide didn't know if it was his illusion, the "senior's" voice seemed to be happier than before.

"Yes... because your dream was about a garden, so I embellished it a little."

"I just heard you call me senior?"

"Uh... I learned something about you from a professor."

Li Weide said. "Because I asked him about ancient magic."

"Senior" was silent for a while, "But you didn't seem to tell the professor about me?"   "No..."

"Thank you... It's really embarrassing for me to be like this.

I don't have the face to see other people... Especially the professors at Hogwarts... Well, you can continue to call me senior in the future.

After all... Senior sounds much better than a weirdo, and much more approachable than a dream maker.

Since we are chatting, it's better to call me something more approachable."

"...Actually, you can also tell me your name." Li Weide said: "Can you tell me your name?"
