Ice Burn!
Icy blue and purplish-red hues danced over the orb-shaped energy, creating a beautiful and dreamlike glow—completely at odds with the ferocious, grotesque appearance of White Kyurem!
This was a signature move that only White Kyurem, having fused with Reshiram's power, could use.
It was also the only Ice-type move that came with a burn effect. In terms of pure special attack power—excluding Z-moves—Ice Burn was the strongest Ice-type special move in existence!
"Eternatus!"
Without hesitation, Lucas tossed an Heavy Ball. At this moment, Reshiram was still embedded in the cliffside from the previous attack and couldn't dodge Kyurem's incoming move.
If Ice Burn were to land—Reshiram would be done for.
Never underestimate Kyurem's freezing capabilities. This is the same power that can freeze even a Primal Groudon. Compared to that, freezing Reshiram is practically effortless.
Once frozen, it would be nearly impossible for Reshiram to break free.
Even though Reshiram is a Fire-type, Kyurem's Ice/Dragon typing means Ice beats Dragon, and therefore Reshiram has no resistance to Ice-type attacks!
Even if it didn't get frozen, taking a hit from Ice Burn would still seriously injure Reshiram.
"ROOOAR!"
With a deep dragon's roar, Eternatus emerged from the opened Heavy Ball, hovering over the Glacier Canyon. Dangerous, dark-red energy shimmered ominously across its skeletal frame.
"So, it really did show up after all."
White Kyurem's dragon eyes locked onto Eternatus. From the start, it had sensed another powerful dragon hiding behind the human—apart from the white one.
"Dynamax Cannon!"
A crimson glow burst from Eternatus's chest and abdomen, forming a massive beam of energy that blasted straight toward White Kyurem.
Dynamax Cannon!
"Tch. Annoying pest!"
Kyurem's eyes flashed coldly. But the threat level from that beam wasn't something it could ignore.
Kyurem fired Ice Burn directly at Dynamax Cannon.
The two attacks clashed fiercely in mid-air. Waves of energy surged out chaotically, releasing a terrifying storm of force.
Ice Burn vs. Dynamax Cannon!
But soon, Ice Burn began overpowering Dynamax Cannon, pushing it back toward Eternatus.
"Eternatus!"
Lucas frowned slightly at the sight—but wasn't entirely surprised.
At this stage, Eternatus wasn't in peak condition. Plus, Ice had a type advantage over the Dragon/Poison Dynamax Cannon.
And this was Kyurem's home turf on top of that.
Eternatus's dotted eyes glimmered. With a roar, it powered up further. Dynamax Cannon surged and swelled in size.
BOOM!
Both attacks detonated!
A massive ring-shaped shockwave of ice and energy swept through the sky.
Even White Kyurem and Eternatus were pushed back by the explosion.
On the ground, Gardevoir sensibly raised a green protective shield to protect Lucas, Marnie, and Blue from the blast.
"Reshiram, Blue Flare!"
Lucas mentally ordered Reshiram. Despite the earlier blow from Kyurem's Dragon Claw, Reshiram should've recovered by now.
With a powerful flap of its wings, Reshiram rose from the crater in the cliff. Flames burst from its tail turbine.
A second later, an azure-blue flame shot straight toward Kyurem's position.
Blue Flare—Reshiram's signature move!
"ROAAR!"
Sensing the incoming attack, White Kyurem roared furiously. It forcibly stabilized its balance and blasted out a beam of Dragon Pulse from its mouth to counter.
The two moves collided, but Blue Flare quickly overpowered Dragon Pulse and slammed into Kyurem's body.
The blazing blue fire engulfed Kyurem, knocking it down and crashing it hard onto the canyon floor.
"We hit it!"
Marnie's eyes lit up. As expected—even with Kyurem's strength, it was being overwhelmed by having to face both Reshiram and Eternatus at the same time.
"It's not very effective though… And… I think we've made it angry."
Lucas's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at the cloud of icy smoke where Kyurem had crashed. He didn't look optimistic.
Blue Flare had hit its mark, but the strength gap remained. With Kyurem's defense and stamina, it likely didn't take that much damage.
But what it lacked in damage, it made up for in humiliation.
Kyurem hated Reshiram and Zekrom. And now it had been knocked down by Reshiram in front of everyone.
For a dragon as prideful and cold as Kyurem, that was a disgrace it couldn't tolerate.
"ROOAAAR!!"
As Lucas's words faded, a roar so loud it made their eardrums ache echoed through the canyon.
White Kyurem's enormous body shot back into the air, its dragon eyes locked murderously on Reshiram. The seething rage it emitted was felt clearly by everyone—even those on the ground.
Sparks of lightning lit up at the tip of Kyurem's tail, crawling across its body in a flash.
In an instant—Kyurem changed forms again.
Its body grew bulkier, its muscular dragon arms grew more defined, and its color shifted to a grayish-black.
This was Black Kyurem—its physical attack form!
"It changed again…"
Blue's eye twitched. "How many forms does this ice dragon even have?"
"Black Kyurem. Specializes in physical power," Lucas said grimly. "This is the most violent form of them all."
"Eternatus, Dragon Tail!"
Lucas didn't wait this time. With the numbers advantage, it was time to go on the offensive.
Eternatus roared and surged forward, body twisting. Its long dragon tail glowed green and swept hard toward Black Kyurem.
"Reshiram, Draco Meteor!"
Reshiram climbed higher into the air, raising its head. A glowing orb of draconic energy formed and shot into the sky, preparing to unleash a meteor shower.
Black Kyurem's powerful claws glowed as it slammed them toward Eternatus's Dragon Tail.
Dragon Claw!
The two attacks collided. After a brief clash, Eternatus's tail was swatted away.
"ROOOAR!"
Kyurem then opened its mouth wide and launched another Blizzard at point blank.
Eternatus quickly retaliated with Dragon Pulse.
But Blizzard had too wide of a spread. Dragon Pulse couldn't cover all of it.
The cold storm struck Eternatus's massive frame, freezing winds sweeping across its body.
Kyurem then spread its arms, summoning Stealth Rocks, which shot straight toward Eternatus.
BOOM!
The rocks hit and exploded across Eternatus's body. It let out a pained groan—being hit by both Blizzard and Stealth Rock hurt a lot.
"Dragon Pulse!"
From above, Reshiram unleashed another blast toward Kyurem.
Black Kyurem had just finished using Stealth Rocks and couldn't dodge. The Dragon Pulse exploded on impact.
Eternatus, angered now, also charged in close. Using its size and strength, it slashed at Kyurem with Dragon Claw.
BAM!
The hit landed clean, sending Kyurem flying back.
Its snarling face grew even more twisted with rage.
It glared at both dragons. Damn it! These two were ganging up on it!
Where's your pride as dragons?!
And just then, the Draco Meteor Reshiram had cast earlier fell—showering Kyurem in a storm of draconic energy.
"Strong, no doubt—but this is way too reckless," Lucas said with a smirk.
Black Kyurem was indeed powerful—maybe even able to overpower Eternatus in a 1v1.
It was far stronger than the Dialga that had appeared back in Michina.
But this wasn't a fair one-on-one.
Even if Black Kyurem could suppress Eternatus, so what?
Reshiram might not be strong enough for a direct clash, but it was more than capable of supporting.
If Kyurem were smart, it would've taken out Reshiram—the "soft target"—first, then dealt with Eternatus.
But instead, all its attacks had been focused on Eternatus.
"Truly shameless~"
Seeing the tides turn, Green was no longer nervous. She even sneaked a glance at Lucas and muttered inwardly:
"So shameless! Two versus one? Fight fair if you have the guts!"
She had just started enjoying seeing Lucas get overwhelmed, and now—everything reversed again.
"ROOAAAR!!"
With a furious roar, Black Kyurem shot up and charged straight for Reshiram.
It had had enough. Forget Eternatus—it would take down that white dragon first!
