Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Azog

Mortal enemy.

This represented a fight to the death. Only when one side was completely destroyed would the other cease.

Although Levi didn't consider orcs to be very strong enemies, they certainly viewed Levi that way.

"It's you, and those damned dwarves, who killed the Great King of Goblin-town..."

Azog hefted a heavy hammer and strode menacingly toward Levi, while behind him a group of orcs cheered and shouted, making a show of support for their master.

"Orc Slayer, Enemy of Orcs. Such disgusting titles. You think all orcs will fear you? You're wrong about that."

Thud!

Azog casually swung his heavy hammer, directly smashing a relatively thin tree beside him. It crashed to the ground with a thunderous crash.

"I'll kill you first, let everyone see what you really are, then go kill those dwarf scum!"

[30/30]

Ignoring Azog's trash talk, Levi immediately looked up to check his health bar.

This guy had strong constitution and was indeed quite tall. At least over two meters. And his whole body was packed with muscle. This was extremely rare among orcs. Even the Uruk-hai that Saruman would breed in the future probably wouldn't be more formidable than him.

"Anyone can talk big. Being so arrogant, be careful you don't pull something."

Levi drew his long sword.

"Those words go for you too!"

Azog roared as he swung his heavy hammer.

Clang!

Sword met heavy hammer. The moment they made contact, Levi felt a tremendous force pressing down, so powerful it directly knocked his sword aside. This first exchange left him wide open.

This was the first time Levi had experienced having his weapon deflected by a heavy weapon.

Naturally, such an opening wouldn't be wasted. Azog showed a cruel smile and, relying on his strong physique, quickly swung the heavy hammer.

Thud!

A direct hit to the chest.

Levi felt his chest tighten slightly, the powerful impact forcing him to take half a step back.

[-1]

Interesting. Even a normal attack could break through his defense...

If it were anyone else, even those dwarves known as "walking stones," taking this hit head-on would probably leave them immediately incapacitated.

However, against a full set of Protection IV netherite armor, it was still lacking just a bit...

Swoosh!

Almost simultaneously with losing health, his health bar instantly refilled. Levi took the opportunity to quickly draw his sword and slash forward.

Long experience fighting orcs had already trained him in swift combat techniques. Perhaps his swordsmanship still lacked specific methodology, but in drawing, slashing, and sheathing his sword, he had long achieved mastery far beyond ordinary people.

This was experience fed by the lives of over a thousand orcs and wargs.

However, even so, this sword strike still failed to succeed.

In the critical moment, Azog suddenly raised his modified left hand, using the metal fork on it to tightly parry Levi's sword, then swung his hammer again.

Thud!

Levi pulled out his shield with his left hand to block this strike, then the shield entered a broken state and went into a brief cooldown.

"Roar!"

Feeling he had suppressed Levi, Azog spread his arms wide and prowled around the arena formed by the surrounding orcs and wargs. He walked a full circle, brazenly displaying his muscles, starting to show off before the battle was even over, as if victory was already in hand.

Seeing that the fearsome human seemed to be at a disadvantage, the orcs immediately cheered, wargs howled along, and their faces showed human-like mocking expressions. The scene became quite lively.

Enormous arena pressure pressed toward Levi.

However, Levi just glanced around. Those orcs who met his gaze immediately shut their mouths and pulled their necks back.

Actually, if Azog weren't here, these orcs would have scattered the moment they saw Levi, rather than daring to surround him like this.

This was the morale boost that a powerful leader provided.

As the duel progressed, the sun gradually set and the pale moon rose high.

When starlight replaced sunlight, all the surrounding orcs immediately perked up, straightening their forms as their momentum continuously increased. From this moment on, all the weakness effects on these orcs disappeared.

Sunlight weakened orcs, while night was their domain.

Some orcs, emboldened by both moonlight and Azog's presence, even dared to meet Levi's gaze.

"You're dead, haha!"

Azog again forked Levi's sword and raised his heavy hammer.

Thud!

The shield entered cooldown again.

This time Levi could feel that Azog's strength had obviously increased significantly, but no matter how strong, it was destined to be unable to break through Levi's shield.

Shields had an unclear upper limit for force resistance, but no matter how strong an attack they faced, they could at least block once, at most being broken and going into brief cooldown.

"Really troublesome..."

Levi felt somewhat frustrated.

Many game bosses relied on stacking health and attack power to increase difficulty, showing how hard the boss was to beat.

But real-life ones were different. They could really fight. Don't look at their low health; you had to actually hit them to count. This guy couldn't be handled like ordinary orc rabble.

However, reality also had its own fighting methods.

After blocking a heavy hammer strike, Levi also put away his leisurely, playful attitude and quickly withdrew his sword, then drew it again, continuously slashing and sweeping. His movements were so fast they almost created afterimages. Azog couldn't keep up and retreated repeatedly, but he could still parry. However, no matter how much strength he had or how fast he parried, his stamina was ultimately limited.

And Levi, with food available, was unlimited.

Swoosh!

Finally, when Azog felt a trace of fatigue, Levi seized the opportunity and slashed forward!

Boom!

Flames rose high as Azog howled in pain. His chest was split open with a large gash, his health rapidly dropping. He lost half his life on the spot. In desperation, this pale orc directly threw his heavy hammer at Levi. In just the time it took to dodge, the surrounding orcs had already swarmed forward, wave after wave throwing themselves at Levi without regard for their lives, blocking his sword and providing cover for Azog.

For a moment, Levi felt like he was chopping through a wall of flesh that never seemed to end.

When these blocking orcs were all slain, he saw that Azog's flames had been extinguished in the distance. His more loyal subordinates had helped him onto a white warg twice the size of ordinary wargs, and they were fleeing into the distance.

That was the king among wargs. The White Warg King.

Levi pulled out his bow and shot several quick arrows, but couldn't hit his target as the Warg King nimbly dodged them.

Sometimes Levi really wanted auto-aim.

The Warg King roared fiercely at Levi, then quickly ran away. On the wolf's back, Azog clutched his chest, barely alive, staring fixedly at Levi as if to carve that figure into his eyes.

The orc army scattered in all directions, hurrying to follow Azog.

[Misty Mountains Orc Reputation -300]

Current reputation: -3756.

Levi had a premonition that when the reputation value continued to drop to a certain level, some new change would occur.

Seeing Azog about to leave, Levi tried to follow, but as a roar sounded, dozens of wargs returned along the original path and charged over. They seemed to have received orders from the Warg King, forming a circle to entangle Levi, but none dared to actively attack. They just maintained a certain distance while surrounding him.

When Levi took a step forward, these wargs took a step back.

When Levi suddenly drew his sword and feinted a charge forward, it directly scared the nearest wargs into howling like dogs whose tails had been stepped on, squeezing backward.

"Even in this state, you still dare to stay and block me. That's commendable courage."

Unfortunately, these wargs belonged to the hostile faction and couldn't be tamed, otherwise a group of mounts that could fight and run would be quite impressive.

Without wasting time. While the wargs didn't dare attack actively, Levi certainly did. The gleaming precious sword was drawn again, and the wargs' small loyalty to their pack was immediately slaughtered away as they scattered and fled.

[Title Obtained: Enemy of Wargs]

Levi pursued in the direction Azog had left, but in just those one or two minutes of being delayed by the wargs, Azog had run so far that not even his shadow could be seen.

"You can't escape..."

Levi sheathed his sword. Azog's head would temporarily remain on his neck.

With the wargs and orcs repelled and no enemies left nearby, Levi immediately headed in the direction the dwarves had left. When he reached a cliff area, he found the region had become a sea of fire, while the dwarves, orcs, Gandalf, and Bilbo had all disappeared.

"Huh?"

Levi crossed through the sea of fire, looking around.

"Did you all just leave me here?"

Whoosh!

Suddenly a strong wind struck, making Levi squint.

"Levi!"

A great eagle suddenly flew up from below the cliff. Gandalf on its back called out, signaling Levi to jump on.

"We've been waiting for you!"

A moment later.

Levi sat cross-legged on the eagle's back, discussing with Gandalf.

"You really scared me. I thought you'd had some accident, or had left me behind."

"How could that be? This company would throw me out before abandoning you."

Gandalf lit his pipe and said with some emotion: "We were surrounded by warg packs on the cliff edge. At first we could handle it, but later the dwarves gradually ran out of stamina and were almost forced to jump off the cliff."

"I used a little magic to isolate that pack of wargs, then called for some help." Gandalf glanced at the eagle and nodded to it in acknowledgment.

These great eagles weren't ordinary animals. They possessed intelligence, held distinguished positions, and were friends with Gandalf.

"Little magic?"

However, Levi's focus was somewhat different.

The little magic you mentioned. Wouldn't that be called a firestorm?

"Yes, sigh. Today was truly an exhausting day."
