Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Level up

Aside from the ability stats, Hajime's status sheet now showed several new magic spells and skills.

Probably because they came from another world, only his "Light Magic" was properly identified. The rest were unknown.

Among those unidentified skills, one of them was surely his Ultraman transformation.

Even the gods wouldn't know what Ultraman was.

Looking over his updated stats, Hajime felt genuinely satisfied.

"This is like hitting the jackpot."

When the Falna updated, the new strength surged through his body, enhancing it completely.

Previously, after syncing with his Fairy Tail counterpart, his physical ability had already improved significantly.

He was on par with Level 3 or 4 adventurers at least.

Now, after a full update?

His body had been drastically strengthened.

Stats showing "???" and numbers like 9999 gave him a power boost far beyond what a typical adventurer would get from leveling.

He felt he could now rival even a Level 5 adventurer.

Even the famed Sword Princess Ais would likely lose out in raw physical stats.

And that was without using any magic to boost himself.

If he did enhance his body with magic, then used his Giant transformation magic…

He might even be able to go toe-to-toe with Makarov, the guild master from the Fairy Tail world.

"So I'm basically at Saint Wizard-level combat power by default now?"

It was only now Hajime realized just how powerful he'd become.

He mentally placed himself in the overall power ranking.

Just as he was about to sit up from the sofa—

Hestia pressed him back down.

"What's up?" Hajime asked, puzzled.

"Wait! I think I missed something!" Hestia exclaimed, eyes wide.

She stared at the back of his updated status sheet.

And then…

She froze solid like a statue.

"Goddess?"

Noticing she hadn't responded, Hajime called her name again.

A few seconds later, she snapped out of it.

Then, in a shaken voice, she said:

"Hajime… I think… you can level up."

Hestia looked like her entire worldview had just collapsed.

She'd never raised a Familia member before, but she wasn't clueless.

She'd read enough books to know how hard it was to raise stats.

She knew how harsh the requirements were to upgrade.

There were so many adventurers in Orario, like an endless river…

Yet more than half remained stuck at Level 1 forever.

That's how rare leveling up actually was.

So, knowing all that—Hajime's progress made her question reality.

It felt like everything she'd read was a lie.

Pushing all stats into unmeasurable territory, overloading the Falna display…

And on top of that, he fulfilled the conditions to level up?

This kind of power-up speed was straight-up cheating!

If she didn't know Hajime couldn't read divine script, she might've suspected he'd found a loophole and hacked his own Falna.

Otherwise, it made no sense.

"…Level up," Hajime echoed, eyes widening in realization.

Oh, right!

According to the rules of the Falna system, once an adventurer met certain conditions and accomplished a "Feat," they could level up.

Leveling not only strengthened them further, it raised their growth potential too.

It was every adventurer's dream.

Now, Hajime's stats had clearly hit the cap.

As for the required "Feat"?

Those were like promotion trials—taking on impossible bosses or winning unwinnable fights.

Defeating Golza and Melba? That absolutely counted as a world-saving feat.

For a Level 1 adventurer, that was the very definition of a great deed.

So, after beating those two monsters…

His stats and his achievements were already maxed.

Earlier, Hestia had updated his Falna stats—

But hadn't processed the level-up yet.

Which meant—Hajime wasn't done getting stronger.

"Well then, let's level me up!"

Hajime quickly requested it.

He had to cash in on this wave of experience before heading back to the fog space.

After all, in the Campione world, he still needed to complete the feat of slaying a god.

That would be another major boost.

So he needed to level now, before his future gains overlapped and got wasted.

"…,"

Listening to Hajime casually talk about leveling up like it was buying groceries…

Hestia had no idea how to respond.

Though her face was blank, Hestia's hands didn't stop moving. With practiced ease, she manipulated the divine script and completed Hajime's level-up.
