The gruesome roars echoed throughout the valley, drowning out the clang of swords and the screams of soldiers. The hideous creatures, taller than humans, with grayish skin and glowing red eyes, charged at Dante's army like hungry beasts. Their sharp claws tore through armor, and their sturdy bodies made them difficult to pierce with swords or spears. They showed no fear, only the frenzy of bloodthirsty killers.
"What are they?" A desperate soldier cried out as a monster delivered a fatal blow.
Aria stood close to Dante, her dagger slicing through the air, seeking weak points. She had never faced creatures like these, not even in the most rigorous training simulations of the 21st century. These were not natural animals, nor mutated humans. They were entities from another dimension, summoned by a malevolent force.
Dante fought like a god, his sword swinging in deadly arcs, each strike taking the life of a monster. He was powerful, but they were too numerous and too ferocious. The monsters seemed to feel no pain; they just kept coming, even with limbs severed.
"Their weakness is the neck and head!" Aria shouted, after careful observation, noticing that some monsters only fell when struck in those areas. She plunged into the battle, no longer a medic or an advisor, but a true warrior. Her dagger wasn't long enough to slash at the monsters' necks, but she used her agility and skill to weave through them, aiming for cracks in their skin or weak joints.
Dante heard her words and immediately changed his tactics. His sword now aimed directly at the necks and heads of the creatures, each strike more decisive and powerful. The soldiers quickly followed suit, and the battle became more organized.
However, the number of monsters was overwhelming. They continuously emerged from cracks in the ground and from the darkness of the deep forest. Dante and his soldiers began to tire, and more wounds started to appear.
"Retreat! We must retreat!" An officer roared, his voice filled with despair.
"No! I cannot abandon my soldiers!" Dante replied, his eyes resolute.
Suddenly, a louder roar echoed, and a colossal monster, twice the height of a man, with eyes glowing red like embers, emerged from a cave. It seemed to be the leader, and its appearance brought with it a wave of malevolent energy that enveloped the entire valley.
"Be careful, Dante!" Aria screamed, sensing the deadly danger from this monster.
The colossal monster immediately targeted Dante. It swung its sharp claws, creating a powerful gust of wind. Dante narrowly dodged, but its claws still grazed his shoulder, leaving a deep tear in his armor. Blood began to seep out.
Aria knew Dante couldn't fight this monster alone. She had to do something. She looked around, searching for a solution. Her gaze landed on a steep cliff face above, where large rocks hung precariously, ready to crumble.
"Dante! Lure it to the cliff!" Aria yelled, her voice urgent. "I have a plan!"
Dante trusted her implicitly. He immediately followed her instructions, using his speed and strength to lure the giant monster closer to the cliff. Meanwhile, Aria used all her strength and climbing skills to quickly ascend the cliff face. She aimed for a weak point on the cliff, where even a strong impact could cause a landslide.
The colossal monster, lured by Dante, furiously attacked him, completely unaware of the danger from above. Aria used her dagger, continuously stabbing at that weak point. The sound of cracking rock echoed, and then, a deafening rumble of an earth-shattering landslide reverberated. Tons of large rocks cascaded down, burying the colossal monster and a large portion of its army.
Dante looked up, his eyes filled with surprise and relief. Aria stood on the cliff face, covered in mud and scratches, but she had saved them all. She was a warrior, a tactical genius, and the woman who had changed his life.
