Amari's lashes quivered at the remark. Her mind unwillingly drifted back to that night—the very beginning of Sebastian's hatred toward her.
It happened years ago. She had been drugged, her senses muddled and body heavy as if trapped in a fog. Someone had dragged her to a room, and by the time consciousness returned, pain consumed her entire body. The dim morning light filtered in through half-closed curtains, and she realized, with horror, that a man lay beside her.
