At that moment, Amari was already seated inside Alexander's car. Nicky wasn't with them; she had chosen to go with Brent and Annie instead.
Alexander himself was driving, while Amari sat silently in the passenger seat beside him.
He glanced at her with a faint smile on his lips.
"Why didn't you wear the dress I prepared for you?" he asked, his voice calm but curious.
Amari turned her head to face him. "It didn't fit quite right," she replied plainly. "So, I just picked two random ones from my own wardrobe. I'll return the ones you gave me once we get back. It might be better if you give them to your other lady friends."
Even though they weren't that close and everything between them often felt calculated, Alexander had a certain ease about him. He never pushed too hard or made her feel uncomfortable when they spoke.
Alexander raised an eyebrow slightly. "What other lady friends? Aren't you the only one here with me?"
