Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Gaia, the Earth Mother

At the dawn of creation, heaven and earth were a single entity, and the birth of the Chaos World was a miracle.

Chaos, from Chaos, alone gave birth to five primeval gods:

Goddess of Earth: Gaia

Hell Abyss God: Tartarus

Darkness God: Erebus

Goddess of the Night: Nyx

God of Love and Desire: Eros

The birth of the five primeval gods formed the World, and the World came into being from this. After the World's birth, the God of Chaos, Chaos, fell into a long slumber in the chaos, and destiny began to turn.

Who knows how long passed; the primal World had no concept of time yet.

The World was desolate. The God of Abyss had fallen into slumber at the very bottom of the World after its formation, while the Darkness God's true form was situated beneath Gaia and above Tartarus.

It is the necessary path for souls of the deceased to the Netherworld. The Goddess of the Night, Nyx, and the Darkness God, Erebus, accompany each other.

Every night, she appears in the Sky, casting the deep darkness of night upon the Earth, capturing every sleeping life.

Eros did not require a physical form; he was born and fell, existing between life and death, and he was omnipresent.

On the vast and boundless Earth, only Gaia walked alone.

The World was incredibly silent. When the white-armed Goddess Gaia felt only desolation in the World, guided by law, a gentle breeze brushed past the Goddess's fingertips.

The Sky God, Uranus, Gaia's eldest son of the Earth, was born from her fingertips!

He possessed a body of azure, boundless and vast, enveloping the Earth and tightly connected to it, untouchable by anything.

Closely following was Pontus, the primal Sea God of the Earth's depressions.

Uria, the God of Mountains, of the Earth's protrusions.

Their appearance caused the World to expand rapidly. The Ocean ran parallel to the Earth, and mountains rose in layered peaks, changing the appearance of the Earth. The World became substantial.

Under the influence of Eros, the union of Gaia and Uranus, the true forms of Sky and Earth, began. This union of Sky and Earth gave birth to six sons and six daughters.

The union of Pontus and Gaia's true forms gave birth to the five great symbols of the Ocean.

Friendliness of the Sea—Nereus, in the form of an old man

Wonder of the Sea—Thaumas

Anger of the Sea—Phorcys

Danger of the Sea—Ceto

Power of the Sea—Eurybia

The Darkness God Erebus and the Goddess of the Night Nyx, through the sexual union of the two primeval gods, gave birth to the Sky God Aether and the Goddess of Day Hemera.

Nyx alone gave birth to the Sleep God—Hypnos and the Death God—Thanatos.

With the birth of the Gods, the World began to prosper. With Gaia's support, the Sky Father Uranus ascended to the throne of the first generation God King.

However, after ascending to the god king position, Uranus revealed his deeply hidden cruel nature.

The God King enslaved his twelve children, wantonly suppressing and tormenting them with paternal authority, taking pleasure in it.

Uranus loathed and resented them. Uranus's possessiveness over Gaia was always at play; in his view, they were merely lowly interlopers between himself and Gaia.

He did not need them. It was a pity that the World did not allow deicide! Otherwise, they would have completely left this World the moment they were born.

"Newly born and humble Gods, I bestow upon you the title of Titans! I hope you feel proud!" This was Uranus's boon to his children!

Titans—meaning both "Strainer" and "Rebel"

Destiny seemed to be sealed from this moment on!

This day, Gaia, who had just been roughly taken by Uranus, lay weakly and exhausted in the Sky Temple of the Earth.

She gritted her teeth, trying to endure the pain emanating from all over her body. Her body constantly protested, and faintly, she heard the painful wails of her own children.

This time, Gaia, suppressing her maternal instincts, could no longer bear it. She dragged her weary body straight to the Sky Temple.

At this moment, she only wanted to protect her children and make Uranus pay the price he deserved.

Unfortunately, Uranus was already only a step away from the power of a primeval god. With the blessing of the god king position, he no longer feared the primeval gods.

Moreover, Gaia, by her own power, had given birth to 12 Titans, and her strength was no longer what it once was!

The birth of each child meant that a portion of Gaia's power as the Mother was permanently stripped away. Although she could recover some power by sleeping, Uranus gave her no opportunity to recover herself.

When she was once again heavily struck down onto the Earth by Uranus.

Gaia completely lost the strength to resist Uranus. The Goddess, who should have been resplendent, now painfully fell onto the Earth, burying her head in the dust.

The tyrannical God King was angry at his Mother and wife for resisting him: "My noble and glorious God Queen, it must be because I have been too lenient with you that you would resist your husband for the sake of those lowly Titans."

Under the influence of primal desire and possessiveness, the union of Sky and Earth began once more. Gaia continuously resisted for this,

but ultimately could not overcome Uranus. Under the Sky's relentless taking, Uranus finally achieved temporary satisfaction.

Now he had to deal with those Titans, after all, Gaia's resistance was because of them, wasn't it?

Gaia lay weakly in place, watching Uranus's departing back, tears welling in her eyes. Her fingers clenched, and in humiliation and rage, she uttered an eternal curse:

"Uranus, one day you will pay a heavy price for your atrocities. I will forever await this day! Forever!"
