Just like humans, Pokémon have their own unique personalities.
Sam's Lucario was stable and mature, mirroring Sam's own temperament perfectly.
Darkrai was cold and aloof; after training, he preferred to stand aside silently to calm his mind.
Silver was lively and playful, always looking for a game.
And the Giant Dragonite? He was just a big, silly goofball who loved to eat.
In addition to personality, elemental Types played a role in social dynamics.
Although both Darkrai and Silver belonged to Sam, one was Psychic/Flying and the other was Dark.
Their energies were fundamentally opposed, like a Ponyta with flames and a Vanillite with ice.
Trying to make them play together happily was almost impossible.
So, the lively Silver rarely played with the brooding Darkrai.
Then there was Cynthia's Galarian Zapdos.
Because he was caught as a wild adult, he retained a fierce, untamed personality.
Now, after leveling up and breaking through his limits, his confidence was bursting.
He was belligerent by nature. Seeing another Legendary Pokémon nearby, he naturally wanted to test his mettle.
Sensing Zapdos' rising fighting spirit, all of Sam's training Pokémon stopped what they were doing. Silver blinked, his eyes wide with surprise and curiosity.
"Screech!!!!!"
Zapdos let out another sharp, piercing cry. The sound echoed into the sky, summoning dark clouds that roiled with thunder and lightning.
"Looo..."
Facing Zapdos' taunt, Silver didn't lash out.
Instead, he flew directly to Sam's side.
Unlike the wild Zapdos, Silver was extremely obedient. Without Sam's instruction, he wouldn't engage in a fight.
Both Cynthia and Sam saw exactly what was happening.
"Sam..." Cynthia looked at her fiancé, asking for his opinion with her eyes.
Sam smiled. "Competition between Pokémon helps them grow. It's not a bad thing."
He reached out and patted Silver's sleek neck.
"Silver," Sam asked gently. "Do you want to fight Zapdos?"
"Looo!"
Silver waved a wing indifferently.
'If he wants to fight, I'll play with him.'
Sam turned to Cynthia. "Let them spar. Consider it a test of Zapdos' new strength after his breakthrough."
Cynthia nodded obediently. She ran over to Zapdos and fed him several Sitrus Berries, helping him recover the stamina he had spent fighting Red's Blastoise and Charizard.
Hearing that he had permission to fight, Silver also closed his eyes to regulate his breathing, replenishing his energy for the upcoming clash.
On the battlefield, two Bird Pokémon faced off.
Since this wasn't a formal match, neither Sam nor Cynthia issued commands.
They stood on the sidelines, letting their Pokémon fight instinctively.
Without a Trainer's influence, the raw gap between the two creatures would be much clearer.
The Ash trio and Red sat nearby, watching intently.
"Red," Ash asked curiously, leaning over.
"What do you think? Who will win?"
Red didn't hesitate. "Lugia."
"Why?" Ash tilted his head.
"I feel like their strength is about the same. And Zapdos is Electric/Fighting. Doesn't Electric resist Lugia's Flying type, and hit it super-effectively?"
Red smiled slightly. "You're right about the typing... but at Lugia's level, Type advantages aren't the only thing that matters."
Seeing that Red was being cryptic, Ash turned to Brock.
"Brock, what do you think?"
Brock hesitated for a second. "Lugia."
"It's Lugia again!" Ash looked disappointed.
Dawn, holding Piplup, giggled. "Ash, do you think Zapdos will win?"
Ash shook his head. "No! Although I don't know why... my intuition tells me Lugia will win too!"
Dawn rolled her eyes. "I heard you asking everyone, so I thought you had a different opinion! But... I also think Lugia will win."
Although Cynthia was sitting close to Sam, holding his arm, she had been listening to the conversation.
Hearing Red, Brock, Ash, and even Dawn unanimously backing Lugia, she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
"Hmph," she whispered into Sam's ear, pouting.
"No one supports my Zapdos."
She squeezed Sam's arm, hard.

"I support my wife! Even if the whole world is against you, I will stand firmly behind you and Zapdos!"
Cynthia's pinch turned into a gentle rub. In the face of Sam's absolute loyalty, she felt satisfied.
"Hmph~ That's more like it."
While the couple flirted, the two Pokémon finished their preparations.
They were back in peak condition.
"SCREECH!!!!"
Zapdos let out a war cry!
Fighting spirit gathered around him like a storm.
Dark clouds swirled above, and orange arcs of electricity crackled across his feathers.
His aura was wide open, displaying the prestige of a Legendary Pokémon.
At the same time, Silver shed his usual playful demeanor.
He spread his massive wings, and a hurricane-force wind erupted from the ground up.
His feathers shimmered with a metallic, silvery luster, looking like a suit of impenetrable armor.
"LOOOOO!!!!"
A high-pitched, melodious cry resonated through the air.
Silver displayed the terrifying pressure of the Sea God!
