Chapter 54 - Mother Lugia In Rage, Aeroblast

"Come on… you know where. Let's skip ahead."

------------------

The ever-changing Lapras Island.

Another storm had rolled in, but this one felt different.

Sam stepped out of the kitchen in a hurry, a sharp glint still in his hand; he hadn't even put the knife down yet.

His eyes widened as he glanced up at the sky, a mixture of shock and dread sweeping across his face.

"What... is going on?"

He stared.

Lightning cracked across the clouds.

Thunder boomed. A violent wind tore through the air, churning the sea into chaos.

And descending through that chaos,

Was another Lugia.

A second one.

"…Why is there another Lugia?!"

The silhouette in the storm wasn't just any wild Pokémon.

It radiated pressure. Rage.

It was her.

[Pokémon: Lugia]

[Gender: Female]

[Type: Flying / Psychic][Ability: Multiscale – Reduces damage when at full health]

[Level: 89 – High-Tier Legendary (Stage 2)]

[Potential: High-Tier Legendary (Stage 2)]

[Known Moves: Gust, Weather Ball, Ancient Power, Safeguard, Mist, Extrasensory, Recover]

[Exclusive Move: Aeroblast]

[Rule Dominion: 30%]

[Condition: Enraged – In this state, her behavior is aggressive and highly volatile]

Sam's face paled.

"A high-tier legendary…"

"We're screwed."

His voice trembled slightly, but his thoughts were sharper than ever.

This Lugia, the mother, had mistaken him for a threat.

One look into those storm-lit eyes was enough to confirm it.

And the baby Lugia in the house?

It didn't help his case.

She must think I kidnapped her child.

Sam could feel the hostility radiating from her; his body, which assimilated the three divine powers, reacted instinctively.

The divine presence inside him made him feel like a beacon, an intruder.

"Liliiiiiii!!!"

A furious cry ripped through the sky.

Thunder rumbled. Winds howled. Rain fell in sheets.

The enraged mother Lugia unleashed her full presence over Lapras Island.

The sea churned and smashed against the coast as terrified Lapras lowered their heads and cried out, trying to avoid her wrath.

"Luka!"

"Hisssss,!"

Lucario and Darkrai had rushed to Sam's side, their expressions serious.

The two Pokémon stood protectively in front of him, tense and ready, their gazes locked on the furious mother above.

Lucario's aura flared. Just from the pressure in the air, he slipped into the Mega Evolution state.

His body shimmered with energy, his eyes glowing with focused intensity.

"Luka!"

From within the house, the baby Lugia, happily munching on premium berries a moment ago, froze mid-bite.

His head tilted.

Then,

"Lili?"

He flapped his wings and floated out into the storm, chirping.

"Lili~! Lili~!"

The mother Lugia's gaze snapped downward, her fury easing for a heartbeat when she saw her child.

But then, her eyes narrowed again.

Because the baby Lugia's belly was round, overstuffed with berries and power cubes, the little one flew awkwardly, wobbling mid-air.

To her, it looked like an injury.

Misinterpreting the clumsy flight and bloated stomach as a sign of harm, the mother Lugia's fury reignited tenfold.

Someone had hurt her baby.

And the only possible culprit?

Sam was still standing there holding a knife.

"LILIIIIIII!!!"

Her cry shook the island. Winds intensified. The sky darkened.

She wasn't going to wait.

A tremendous pressure built up in her throat.

Power gathered into a glowing white sphere, dense, howling, focused.

It wasn't just wind anymore.

It was as if the storm itself was condensing into a single, devastating attack.

Sam's eyes widened.

"Crap… Aeroblast!"

A sharp, spiraling beam of light erupted from the mother Lugia's mouth, slicing through the storm.

The surrounding seawater was sucked into the cyclone, forming jagged Whirlpools as the beam tore through the sky, heading straight for him.

The signature move of the Lugia bloodline.

Even the baby Lugia was confused.

'Mom?? What the heck?!'

He hovered awkwardly behind, blinking in utter confusion, berries still stuck to his beak.

Sam didn't have time to explain.

There was no time to dodge.

He had no choice but to meet it head-on.

He clenched his fist. His aura surged.

"All right, then, Luca! Corkscrew Crash!"

His aura surged into Lucario.

Mega Lucario's body lit up with brilliant white light.

Energy rippled around him like heat off desert sand.

"Luka!!!"

Lucario's cry was fierce, primal.

He crouched, then launched forward with the full force of a spiraling, high-velocity impact.

The ground beneath his feet cracked and cratered.

The aura crash met the Aeroblast in mid-air.

BOOM.

A blinding collision.

The shockwave sent seawater flying in all directions, and rain suspended mid-air from the sheer force of energy.

Sam shielded his face from the blast, knife still gripped in hand, bracing himself for what came next.

The force of the collision was catastrophic.

The earth cracked, no, caved in, beneath Lucario's feet, leaving a wide crater gouged into Lapras Island's rocky surface; the sheer pressure from the two attacks colliding sent shockwaves rippling through the air.

Sam had poured every ounce of his aura into Lucario.

With it, Lucario had launched the strongest Steel-type Z-Move, Corkscrew Crash, augmented by the Mega Evolution state and their unbreakable bond.

It was everything they had.

And yet,

BOOM!!

The moment the Aeroblast met the spinning spiral of steel energy, the sky erupted in a white flash.

For a second, it was impossible to tell who had the upper hand.

Then came the backlash.

Lucario's aura wavered.

Even empowered by Mega Evolution and fueled by Sam's aura, his technique couldn't stand up to the raw divine pressure of a high-tier Lugia.

The Aeroblast, backed by godlike rage, smashed through the Z-Move.

Lucario was overwhelmed.

"LUKA!!"

Sam shouted, but it was too late.

Lucario's body was flung back, crashing hard against the rocks. His fur was singed, his aura flickering like a dying flame.

Scars ran deep across his steel frame.

His Mega form shattered, light breaking off his body in fragments.

He collapsed to one knee, panting hard.

And the Aeroblast, though partially deflected, wasn't done.

What remained of the attack was still coming.

Still targeting Sam.

"Darkrai, Protect!!" he shouted, voice hoarse.

"Hiiisssss!!"

Darkrai surged forward.

A wave of pitch-black energy erupted from its body, wild and chaotic, forming a swirling black barrier in front of Sam.

The remnants of Aeroblast struck it head-on.

BOOM!!!!

Another deafening explosion ripped through the island.

The shockwave shattered rocks. Trees bent violently under the force.

The sky itself seemed to ripple.

When the dust settled, Darkrai's form hovered shakily in front of Sam.

The shadowy veil around its body had thinned, flickering and unstable.

The dark-type legendary had poured everything into shielding its Trainer, and it showed.

Sam clenched his fists, heart racing in his chest.

This was a Lugia at full power—a mother in a blind rage.

She wasn't thinking. She wasn't reasoning.

She only saw a threat to her child, and she was prepared to annihilate anything that stood in her way.

Lucario groaned nearby, struggling to stand.

His body was covered in bruises and cuts, his breath ragged.

He couldn't Mega Evolve again. He could barely move.

"Luka…"

Darkrai, too, floated lower, visibly weakened, its wispy form almost translucent from the energy expenditure.

And still, it wasn't over.

"Lili~!"

The baby Lugia fluttered up beside his mother, chirping in alarm.

He waved his stubby wings, clearly trying to explain.

He squeaked out a few desperate calls, trying to get her attention, to calm her down.

But she wasn't listening.

Her eyes still burned with fury.

The second Aeroblast was already forming.

That blinding white energy, pure, devastating, unrelenting, was spinning in her mouth once again, growing denser by the second.

Sam's heart stopped.

This wasn't just a warning shot anymore.

This one, this would erase him.

He looked around, Lucario, down.

Darkrai is nearly out of energy.

The baby Lugia panicked but was helpless.

There was no one left who could intercept it.

His hands trembled at his sides.

For the first time since arriving in this world, he truly felt powerless.

"It's over…"

The words slipped out of his mouth without meaning to.

The second Aeroblast surged forward.

And he could only watch.
