Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Year 2030, City No. 003 — once known as the Magic Capital, just before the Great Nirvana.

"Pshht~!"

A blade flashed under crackling thunder. A monstrous beast with a twisted face roared one last time before its head was severed by Qin Yun, armored head to toe in battle gear.

Looking at the fallen Ironclad Dragon, a Lord-tier beast, Qin Yun didn't relax. Instead, his vigilance soared to the max.

He didn't linger long in the wilds, where monsters roamed in packs. Controlling his flying knives with psychic force, he swiftly harvested the beast's unicorn horn and other valuable materials.

With his Streaklight Movement Technique, he vanished from the bloody scene before nearby monsters could track him.

He darted into a crumbling apartment building, scattered some scent-blocking powder, suppressed his breathing, and waited.

Only after confirming that all nearby monsters had moved on did Qin Yun, still wounded, let out a deep breath.

"That was close... But in the end, I won."

"A Lord-tier kill bonus, plus the Ironclad Dragon's materials—this haul is easily worth tens of billions. With this money, I can finally afford the full version of Ninefold Thunder Blade!"

But instead of joy, Qin Yun felt frustrated.

In the Devouring Universe, warriors earn fast—but spend even faster. Techniques, skills, weapons—everything costs money.

And for someone like him, a transmigrator with no system, life was truly hard.

Yes, Qin Yun was indeed a transmigrator. He'd been just an ordinary college student two and a half years ago, eating hotpot and singing karaoke…

Until a meteor struck.

When he woke up, he was already in this brutal universe—struggling to survive under the looming threat of the Great Nirvana.

What Was the Great Nirvana?

It began in the early 21st century. The world was hit by multiple waves of viral outbreaks:

2003: SARS

2009: H1N1

2013: The terrifying R-virus emerged.

The R-virus mutated into more than twenty variants, making containment nearly impossible. Every country reported deaths.

Though temporarily controlled, everything changed in January 2015, when the virus mutated again into its deadliest form:

The RR Virus.

Unlike its predecessors, which spread through fluids or water, the RR Virus could spread through the air.

The world noticed too late. Within three months, nearly 2 billion people had died.

The RR Virus had a terrifying 30% mortality rate. Scientists were helpless.

In the end, about 5 billion people survived—each of them developing natural immunity.

But this wasn't a blessing.

All survivors experienced dramatic physical enhancements:

Strength

Speed

Cell regeneration

Skin toughness

Records in sports and performance were shattered overnight.

But animals had evolved too—and faster.

Survivors among beasts and birds, forged by natural selection, mutated into monsters—stronger, faster, and some even gained intelligence.

The Monster Wars Begin

September 2015. It started in the oceans. Mutated beasts began attacking human cities.

Bloodshed. Chaos.

Human weapons were mostly useless. Guns couldn't pierce their scales. Missiles were dodged. Even nukes had limited effects.

Some monsters survived the blasts—and worse, nuclear radiation made them mutate further.

Thankfully, human warriors began to emerge.

They were the first Cultivators of Combat.

In this devastated world, records were gone. As long as you were human, you could live in a Base City.

So Qin Yun, lucky to survive the RR Virus, wasn't worried about being undocumented.

Once he understood this world was the Devouring Universe, he made a choice—for his own survival and perhaps to one day curry favor with the future Lord Luo—to become a warrior.

Maybe it was because he was a transmigrator, but Qin Yun was highly talented. He awakened psychic powers, and in just two and a half years, reached the level of a War God.

His psychic control also reached high-tier War God level.

That's why he could hunt alone in dangerous wild zones like City 003.

But even though his strength was rare in most worlds—in the Devouring Universe, a War God was still just a slightly stronger pawn.

And if he wanted to truly survive, this strength was far from enough.

But what else could he do?

Join Hong and Thor? They were barely holding on themselves.

Rely on Lord Luo? Sorry, he wouldn't be born for another eight years.

Just as Qin Yun felt lost about what to do next…

The world spun.

He suddenly found himself in a strange space—with only a round table and several chairs.

"Yo, a new guy!"

"Let's see… Is he a big player, or just another hanger-on?"

"Cut the nonsense. Fist bump. You're a transmigrator, you know the drill, right?"
