Chapter 255: This Is the Car Going to the Hospital

Kitasan Black's care didn't end there.

After getting dressed came breakfast.

When Makoto walked out of the bedroom, a nutritious breakfast had already been laid out on the dining table.

There were golden fried eggs, perfectly toasted bread with jam, freshly boiled vegetables, and a steaming cup of milk. Beside them was also a plate of neatly sliced fruit.

Kitasan Black hadn't been learning cooking from Oguri Cap for very long, but her skills were already quite good.

For simple dishes like omelet rice, fried rice, and ramen, she had already reached the level of many head chefs in large restaurants.

As for other, more complicated dishes, she couldn't quite reach that same level yet, but they were still very delicious.

The breakfast in front of them was exactly the kind of simple meal she excelled at, so even before sitting down at the table, Makoto could already smell the tempting aroma.

"Trainer, hurry and eat. Only by getting enough nutrition can you recover faster."

Kitasan Black sat down beside the table as well. As she spoke with a smile, she looked straight at him without blinking. She even held a spoon in her hand, looking ready to feed him at any moment.

…This must be Satono Diamond's suggestion again, right…

Makoto thought helplessly but amused. He picked up his own spoon and began eating breakfast.

However, he had barely taken one bite when Kitasan Black said:

"Trainer, this egg is very nutritious. You should eat more."

As she spoke, she picked up an egg and placed it in Makoto's bowl.

"Oh—oh, it hasn't been peeled yet…" She quickly took the egg back, peeled it, and then placed it back into his bowl.

Right after that, she picked up a slice of bread and carefully spread it with jam.

"This bread tastes really good with this jam. Dia-chan and I specially went to buy it last night."

Makoto felt like he wasn't eating breakfast—he was undergoing a "baptism of food."

Throughout the entire meal, he had no idea how much he actually ate. All he knew was that Kitasan Black kept putting more food into his bowl, and soon the food piled up into a small mountain.

…Is she treating me like Oguri Cap? I don't have an appetite that exaggerated…

Though to be fair, it wasn't actually that much.

Chuckling to himself, Makoto finished breakfast.

Just as he took the tissue Kitasan Black handed him and wiped his mouth, before he could say anything, she eagerly leaned closer and said:

"We'll clean up the dishes when we come back—I'll take care of them."

"But for now, let's go to the hospital, Trainer."

"The hospital?"

Makoto was taken aback. He subconsciously glanced at his left arm in its cast and couldn't help laughing.

"I already went for a checkup last night, and President Teio was there too."

"You don't mean you don't trust the president's judgment, do you?"

Hearing that, Kitasan Black froze for a moment before hurriedly waving her hands.

"Of course I trust her! But after Agnes Tachyon-senpai heard that you were injured, she strongly insisted that you must go to her place for an examination."

After explaining that, she hesitated for a moment before continuing:

"If you're feeling uncomfortable, Trainer, we could go a little later…"

Then she suddenly shook her head.

"No! If you're feeling uncomfortable anywhere, then we should go right now!"

The more she spoke, the more anxious she became.

Walking over with the posture of someone about to check him all over, she said hurriedly:

"Trainer, where do you feel uncomfortable? Let's go to the hospital!"

Makoto was stunned for a moment, and he also hurriedly stepped back. Instinctively waving his right hand, he said:

"W-wait, I'm not uncomfortable anywhere… I mean—aside from my left arm, I feel perfectly fine. Y-you don't need to come any closer…"

Thinking quickly, he hurriedly added:

"Then let's go see Doctor Tachyon right away and have her check it. Um… that would make me feel more reassured too."

When Makoto stepped back, Kitasan Black froze unconsciously, her ears drooping slightly.

But when she heard the rest of his words, she immediately brightened up again.

"Mm-hmm! Then let's set off right away. I've already prepared a car!"

"O-okay… wait?"

Makoto nodded reflexively, then paused in surprise. "Prepared… a car?"

Kitasan Black nodded vigorously, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Yep! I specially asked my family's driver to come. That way he can safely and quickly take you to the hospital, Trainer."

"The driver has been driving for my grandpa for years, so his driving skills are really good."

"Oh, right—Grandpa also heard that you were injured. At first he said he would arrange for someone to come take care of you, and he even wanted to come himself."

"But I told him that I could take care of you just fine. And since you've been busy with the Arima Kinen recently, I said he should come visit later—because right now you need to rest properly."

Hearing this, Makoto felt both surprised and helplessly amused.

He thought to himself that Kitasan Black's way of taking care of someone was becoming more and more exaggerated—but at the same time, a warm feeling rose in his chest.

Following the cautious yet enthusiastic Kitasan Black to the entrance of the apartment building, he saw a black luxury sedan parked steadily there.

Kitasan Black quickly stepped forward, opened the car door, and gestured for Makoto to enter like a diligent little attendant.

Makoto couldn't help chuckling as he got into the car. The soft seat instantly molded to his body, and the interior was elegant and understated, carrying a faint scent of perfume.

Kitasan Black climbed in after him. After carefully glancing at Makoto's left arm in its cast, she spoke briefly with the driver in the front seat, and the car slowly started moving.

During the ride, Kitasan Black kept staring at Makoto and asked from time to time:

"Trainer, is the seat comfortable? Do you need to adjust it? Would you like some water? I remember Grandpa put some drinks in the refrigerator here…"

As she spoke, she leaned forward toward the driver's area.

Makoto was surprised, he hadn't expected a car like this to even have a built-in refrigerator. Laughing helplessly, he quickly shook his head.

"No, really, it's fine. I'm not thirsty. Also… Kitasan, you don't need to be so nervous."

"O-oh, okay…"

Kitasan Black nodded somewhat sheepishly and sat back down. But soon she started asking concerned questions again.

Makoto found himself overwhelmed by the constant inquiries and could only keep responding:

"I'm fine, really. Kitasan… you really don't need to be this nervous."

Before long, the car arrived at the hospital.

Just like when they got in earlier, Kitasan Black hurried out of the car first and opened the door for Makoto.

Inside the hospital lobby, as if she had rehearsed it beforehand, she skillfully led Makoto toward the department of Agnes Tachyon.

Along the way, passing nurses and doctors couldn't help glancing at them—the extremely serious and anxious Umamusume, and the young man with his arm in a cast wearing an amused yet grateful expression.

Arriving at the door to Agnes Tachyon's office, Kitasan Black took a deep breath and knocked.

After hearing a "Come in" from inside, she carefully pushed the door open and guided Makoto inside almost as if she were supporting him.

Behind the desk, Agnes Tachyon was flipping through some documents.

When she saw Makoto and Kitasan Black enter, she put the papers down and glanced over the two of them with a faintly teasing smile.

"A trainer suffering a fracture during a race instead of the Uma… this is the first time I've heard of such a thing."

"Oh—actually, there have been cases before, but it's still quite rare."

Then she turned her gaze to Kitasan Black.

"But in those previous cases, there wasn't such a dedicated little nurse."
