From the tent, a dressed woman emerged.
"Mister Lionheart... the miss wants to see this person personally," she said with a clear and cut voice.
What? Ferris froze at the revelation.
The shock spread through the small crowd as well. Even Lionheart's jaw opened wider than anyone expected.
Yet, despite how sudden and unreasonable the request was, he couldn't deny the order.
With a pathetic nod, Lionheart relented.
And the shards of light soon vanished into nothing.
She would even threaten her guard's life? Ferris was concerned by this display, but maybe it was expected after seeing her 'shoot first, don't ask questions' against villains.
Would she even hear me out? Ferris thought carefully as he walked past the still frozen Lionheart.
He approached the woman face to face.
A gothic appearance, one might say she was a time traveler or a cosplayer, and another might ask, did she really wear this for the hero examinations?
Regardless, Ferris couldn't judge her from appearance, as he began imagining what kind of blessing she had.
The woman quietly stared at him with a blank expression. "She wants to speak with you, you may enter when you want to."
So in the end, she wanted to see me all along? Ferris was a little surprised and suspicious by such a sudden twist.
But he dismissed those thoughts.
Using his senses, he could tell that there was only one imposing presence inside the tent waiting for him.
"I'll enter now," Ferris said, parting away the tent's fabric door as he stepped inside.
A... bedroom?
His eyes quickly skimmed across the small room.
A singular makeshift bed on the floor, a single light on top. And in the center was Elizabeth, sitting in a monobloc chair before a cheap plastic table used to host meals.
Yes! Ferris knew so because its product box was there in the corner of the tent, and if his eyes didn't lie to him, he saw a sticker that said 70% OFF.
My eyes are being trained to see unexpected things... Ferris didn't complain his hawk-like observational skills.
After observing the unremarkable room, he noticed how the gothic woman walked past him without making a single sound.
She went towards Elizabeth's right side and stayed put in silence.
Ferris walked a bit closer to Elizabeth, till the only thing that separated the two was the plastic table.
I wanted to talk to her first, but since she wants to meet me...
He didn't plan on speaking first, but he at least planned on greeting her properly.
No matter how run down this room was, it was still a woman's bedroom. And his chivalry as a knight tugged him hard in situations like these.
Ferris lampooned internally before placing his fist near his heart and bowed slightly.
"Good evening, Lady Queen Elizabeth," he said, though his voice had a hint of unsureness.
It was weird to call a queen 'lady queen,' but since queen was literally in her name, it was grammatically correct.
At least she wasn't an actual queen, then he'd be awkwardly forced to call her Queen Queen Elizabeth.
. . .
Elizabeth looked tired, given that she was wearing a thick set of pajamas. It seemed as if she had just woken up.
Even still, she looked like royalty, something that was a little unnerving for Ferris.
Elizabeth closed her eyes and sighed a little. "Don't call me lady, that will be your first warning." She stared directly at Ferris's eyes with bloodlust.
Her blood-like pupils seemed to stab him without the need of her light shard gift.
These weren't the eyes of an heiress to a conglomerate, it was more similar to a being that uses hate to drive themselves forward and slaughter their enemies.
Ferris saw many people during his journey as Felix, he was definitely sure of his assumptions.
"Elizabeth alone is fine." Her bloodlust disappeared as she stood up to present an open hand towards Ferris.
How formal... Ferris shook hands with her.
After that, Elizabeth sat back down and began speaking. "I won't beat around the bush, trust me on this."
You won't be the first to ask of my trust, Ferris was reminded by Prodigy Prince.
Elizabeth gestured her finger to point at the gothic lady beside her.
"Call her Asmadeas, who she is doesn't matter." She settled her hands flat on the table and sharpened her gaze towards Ferris.
"Her blessing is called Seer, and she has already expected a certain arrival." She clasped her hands together and showed a face filled with doubt.
"The only one who knows of this individual's arrival is me and Asmadeas. I didn't tell Lionheart about this... But now that you've forced yourself inside my tent. Is that individual you?"
Asmadeas broke her silence as she turned her head towards Elizabeth.
"He's him, sister. The better vision hasn't changed in any way." She cleared the doubts plaguing Elizabeth's mind.
While watching the chat, there were hundreds of thoughts going through Ferris's mind.
This was a situation he didn't account for.
Seer?
Future telling?
Vision of the future?
He was supposed to be here in the end?
There was a dark memory sprouting in the depths of his mind. With his new life, he had hoped that he would've already been free from the chains of fate.
From the choking restraints of a prophesized future.
Unknowingly, Ferris let out a foul aura that made the two ladies stop speaking to each other.
Fortunately, Elizabeth broke Ferris's trance with her beautiful voice.
"Although we have foreseen your arrival, we don't really know why. Now... What's your purpose for coming here, what do you have to say?"
. . .
Ferris paused when he heard that they didn't know why he was here for.
He calmed that dark memory till it was completely gone, then smiled in his mind.
Ferris took a deep breath before taking something out of his pocket.
A metal emblem that depicted a shattered sword.
For a moment the two were taken aback. They imagined that Ferris was actually a villain to assassinate them.
But if that were the case, then Asmadeas would already know that an individual was coming to kill them.
"I looted this from one of the villains I killed," he said, then he pocketed the emblem back.
"I only ask for two things."
"Allow me to infiltrate the villains' base, and I want your full cooperation with me," he asked and waited for their reply.
Elizabeth raised her brows, she expected something more than what he said. Maybe something like, 'I'm your knight in shining armor and I have come to save you!'
She turned her gaze towards Asmadeas.
There was no need for Elizabeth to ask directly.
"There's no changes." Asmadeas nodded.
