The ship at the dock let out a loud horn, signalling that it would be departing in a minimum of ten minutes. Meanwhile, Breck and Shizuku were nowhere to be seen.
The two were still in their hotel room, sleeping soundly, with Shizuku clinging to Breck's chest. Her fingers were tracing his abs, and her left leg rested on his.
Booo!
"Hmm?" Breck opened his eyes and heard the sound of the ship. The hotel they rented was only a few hundred meters from the docks, so the noise reached them easily.
Breck looked down at Shizuku, her hair tousled and scattered across the pillow. Her glasses lay discarded on the bedside table, and her leg draped over his. The sight made Breck feel calm as he stared at her for a few moments, appreciating the tranquillity.
His arms instinctively wrapped around Shizuku's waist, and he smiled, feeling her soft skin under his palms. Stirring at his touch, Shizuku opened her eyes, her purple pupils shimmering with sleep.
Breck held her gaze for several seconds, lost in the moment. "Shizu, we need to move before the boat to Dolle Island leaves," he said gently, still smiling. Shizuku nodded, swinging her leg over the bed to sit up.
Breck followed her lead, and they quickly got dressed, ensuring they looked presentable. They combed their hair: Breck slicked back his hair while Shizuku let her shoulder-length locks fall naturally.
Boom!
The ground cracked beneath them as they unexpectedly leapt out of the top floor. Onlookers in the street let out loud gasps as they watched the two vanish like shadows, sprinting toward the docks.
At the dock, the ship began to unfurl its sails, setting course for Dolle Island. Breck and Shizuku exchanged smirks as they ran from a distance, their figures transforming into blurs.
Boom!
The ground cracked once again as they leapt into the air like jets, soaring 50 meters high before landing on the boat.
"Hmmm?" A certain clown opened his eyes. Leaning against the wall of the boat was Hisoka, his pink hair waving in the gentle sea breeze as he observed Breck and Shizuku.
Hisoka's eyes focused on Shizuku with interest. He sensed the overwhelming aura emanating from her, along with an underlying feeling of danger.
This danger did not stem from her physical capabilities or aura alone, but from her hidden trump card: her newly upgraded Blinky, which she could summon at any moment. It made her a formidable opponent.
In contrast, Breck stood beside Shizuku like a candle next to a wildfire. However, that was due to his abilities, Ten and Zetsu. If he chose to unleash his aura, it could rival hers.
"Interesting~," Hisoka muttered, narrowing his eyes as a smirk spread across his lips. By this time, Hisoka had become a member of the Phantom Troupe, replacing number four.
Hisoka was aware of her connection to the Phantom Troupe. Though she was not a member, Hisoka recognised her as a skilled nen user.
As Breck observed Hisoka, his expression shifted to one of contemplation. He felt an undeniable sense of danger emanating from Hisoka, and rightly so.
That man could probably break through all seven testing gates of the Zoldyck family, starting from 2 tons and doubling the weight for each subsequent gate. This meant he could potentially force open a gate weighing over 128 tons—more than double Breck's limit at full power.
With Ren activated, Hisoka's strength could increase even further when using Ken and Ren together. Breck understood that engaging in a confrontation with someone of that calibre was too risky.
"Shizu, make sure to steer clear of that clown," Breck warned Shizuku, his expression growing serious. He was not ashamed to avoid a fight he knew he couldn't win.
Shizuku glanced between Breck and Hisoka, then nodded in agreement. She could also sense Hisoka's aura, which, although concealed, was more pronounced and less subtle compared to Breck's.
The boat captain looked at Breck and Shizuku with hunched eyes. Those two seemed like actual Hunter material with their skills and the way they arrived.
"Looks like this trip will not be boring!" The captain muttered with excitement, steering the boat as everyone waited. The time passes, and the night quickly arrives.
"Look out! A storm is near. becareful!" The captain warned through the comms as he looked at the dark cloud. Breck and Shizuku did not care as they sat next to each other. Eating a snack from Blinky.
The candidates on the boat woke up and started screaming as the ship shook from the waves. Everyone except Breck, Shizuku and Hisoka could not stand.
That's how the first day on the boat was, the next morning. The crew and candidates were all seasick, with the sole exception of Breck, Shizuku and Hisoka.
Seeing that three candidates remained for the exam, he decided to ask them what their goal was for wanting to become a hunter. The first to go was Hisoka.
"So, tell me. What was your goal for becoming a hunter?" The captain asked Hisoka, who smiled as he played with cards in his hands.
"Well, it's because it's exciting ~," Hisoka moaned through his teeth, causing the captain to sweat as he nodded. He then looked at Breck and Shizuku.
When about to question the. Breck interrupted with a smirk.
"Because I like chaos. And what better way to create some chaos than by becoming a hunter?" Breck said, prompting the captain to flinch as he recognised Breck as a troublemaker.
"I am here to follow Breck," Shizuku added, and the captain realised that three troublemakers were now on the boat with him and the crew.
Once the boat arrived at Dolle Island, the three of them disembarked. Before they left, Hisoka shot a sharp look at the other two. They quickly made their way toward the woods, where they discovered a pine tree with a small wooden house.
Boom!
Breck unleashed his nen with a powerful burst of Ren, prompting two magical beasts to emerge from their hiding spots. They looked at Breck with fear in their eyes, drenched in sweat.
"Take me to the exam site, and I'll let you live," Breck said. With no other option, the two beasts reluctantly led him to a restaurant where an elevator awaited.
"Here, you just go, and the elevator will take you down!" The two bastards screamed before running away. Breck shrugged as he and Shizuku entered the elevator. A few seconds after entering, the elevator descends.
Coming to a stop, the door opens and it reveals Hisoka inside the room, leaning against the wall with a smile. Cards in his hand as he plays with the deck of cards.
Breck narrows his eyes.
