Chapter 27 - Goldtree Academy

Suddenly, the ground beneath Levian began to rumble.

So much so that it must have been felt by the entire academy. Perhaps even the entire city of Goldtree.

Shit... I should've known it would be this intense.

From the ground, ahead of him, something suddenly began to sprout. At first, he thought it was a mere flower, but due to its presence and the rumbling, he knew it had to be more.

CRACK!

Suddenly, the plant erupted into the size of a tree. Unlike the goldtree, its branches were made from a crimson red shade, and its height continued to grow until it towered over Levian as though he were a bug.

Then, a cracking sound came from the face of the tree. The wood split apart, and from it emerged an eye, larger than Levian itself.

It's red iris turned towards him, glaring into his soul.

Levian took a step backwards, in fear. At that moment, he wished he had Nyx drawn, rather than the bow.

Just as he considered switching his weapons out and preparing to fight, something inside of him told him to calm down.

He glanced back at that tree, which had now grown to its full height. Its red eye glared at him, and its eyelid, made from wood, blinked every so often.

It was then that Levian realised that the tree showed no hostility towards him, just like the two other entities he had met so far.

He stared up at the entity, which cast a giant shadow over his figure.

"H-hello?" His voice managed to croak. "What is your–"

But before he could finish his sentence, the academy began to rumble again as the tree began to shrink into the ground.

"W-wait, at least tell me why you don't want to kill me!"

But before he could receive an answer, the academy training ground had returned to normal.

As the building calmed down and became still, Levian started to hear the distant cries of students.

Words such as "We're going to die!" And "I'm still too young!" could be heard amongst them.

Levian let out a sigh, but he couldn't blame them.

He thought he was going to die too.

But once again, the entity had left him alone, showing hardly any interest in him beyond a careful glance.

Well, at least I know that for the time being I can create mythicals with little to no danger...

Before checking his new weapons stats, he quickly focused on the Godsmith area of his system.

His mastery popped up again.

[Mastery Path 25%]

A smile spread across Levian's face, and he silently cheered to himself.

So I only need to create three more mythical weapons to reach my mastery?

With his new location, and no longer needing to hide his true talents and power from his family, it wouldn't be difficult at all.

Next, Levian focused closer on the bow. Its glorious green wings seemed to flutter as though they belonged to an animal. The fluorescent green arrows that rested in the drawstring were inviting, urging him to let them loose.

Levian was pleasantly surprised by the weapon. Not only did it add range to his arsenal, but it also had incredibly powerful talents and weapon skills.

As he placed Eagledraw into his soulspace, he was suddenly overwhelmed by the immense weight of his being.

As usual, he would get used to it, but the initial change in his being that carrying a new mythical weapon placed on him was always a surprise.

Will there ever be a limit to the amount that I'm able to hold?

Satisfied with the day's events, Levian headed towards the exit and left the training room.

With the past days' events, he had seriously worn himself in more ways than one.

All he wanted to do now was sleep. Tomorrow, he would handle all matters that needed to be handled.

However, when Levian exited the training grounds and into the hallway of Goldtree Academy, he was surprised to find a large audience hovering around the exit of the room.

"Is that him?"

"Look, there he is. The Human."

"Is it true what they say about him? Can he create legendary weapons?"

"Why has King Gaëlf allowed a human into the elven kingdom?"

The guards posted outside the room did their best to disperse the crowd of students, but they refused to budge.

At least fifty pointed-eared elves were wearing a white academy uniform with the sign of a golden tree on the chest. Their ages ranged between 14-18, and they all whispered about Levian whilst shooting him strange looks.

Levian had never considered how much of an outcast he was in the land of elves. This was the first time he had noticed it to the full extent.

Whilst many elves of high position were aware of the True Elf prophecy, news had not yet spread that the man had been found.

The King knew that Levian would be safe from danger within the branches of Goldtree; however, that did not save him from casual racism.

"Oi!" One of the guards shouted angrily at the students. "That is a guest of King Gaëlf that you are all whispering about. You would be wise to show him some respect."

But the words did nothing.

Levian stood there, hardly processing the events. At this point, he had become delirious from exhaustion.

His attention piqued, however, when a figure stood forward with more authority than all of the rest.

This man didn't walk alone.

Although he wore the uniform of the Goldtree Academy, he seemed to stand above the rest. In both height and glamour.

"Look, Farys is here."

His eyes were dark and slanted, and his hair was white like snow. His skin was a surprising copper tone that caught even Levian off guard, as elves were usually pale.

He walked with his hands resting in his pockets and behind him were a handful of underlings.

The crowds bickering stopped as the man arrived, and made his way to stand before Levian.

He looked down at the already tall Levian, with a completely straight face.

Even the guards didn't bother to step in at the man's approach.

"I don't like the fact that a human is making noise in our academy." Farys spoke in a deep, monotonous tone."You're going to tell me what you were doing in there and pray that it doesn't anger me."
