Chapter 160 - The Threshold of the Shocking Truth(part159)

(Everyone stands in front of Honoka's parents' house. The air was still, but the anxiety filling the place made the moments pass painfully slowly. The principal remained at the front of the group, while Ahmed stood beside Honoka and Yoshika, and Misaki stood on the other side, as if they were forming a barrier of safety around the two girls.)

Honoka's hand trembles slightly as she looks at the door from which she once walked out, feeling back then as though the world had closed its doors in her face. As for Yoshika, she was hiding behind Ahmed, clutching the hem of his shirt with both of her small hands.

Ahmed feels this, so he turns to her and smiles a calm smile.

Ahmed (in Japanese): "Don't be afraid, Yoshika... we are all with you both."

Yoshika nods her head shyly, but she does not let go of his shirt.

Honoka takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself, but Misaki gently holds her hand.

Misaki: "We are not here to force you into anything... we are only here to hear the truth."

Honoka looks at Misaki, then nods her head, as this gave her a bit of courage.

At that moment... the principal raises his hand and knocks on the door three times—quietly but firmly.

Long seconds pass without any response. Everyone looks at the door in silence. Then, footsteps are heard approaching from inside. Honoka's heartbeat quickens, while Yoshika draws closer to Ahmed.

Ahmed and the principal exchange a quick look, as if both are bracing themselves for what is about to happen.

The sound of footsteps stops in front of the door. Then, the sound of the lock turning is heard. The doorknob turns slowly... and the door begins to open gradually.

Honoka's mother appears first, expressions of surprise written all over her face. As soon as she looked up, she saw the principal, then Ahmed, then Misaki... and finally, Honoka and Yoshika.

She froze in her place.

At that same moment, Honoka's father appeared behind her, looking equally astonished.

A heavy silence fell between both sides, while the principal kept looking at them steadily, preparing to speak.

(The scene ends here, leading directly into the events of Scene 160, where the principal begins to confront the parents and question them.)
