Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Overachiever Heiress?

"Hyuga Satoru is getting more and more outrageous!"

In the classroom, Fujino Daiki stared at Hyuga Satoru, who was sleeping with his head resting on the desk, and his headache worsened.

After years of teaching, he had never encountered such a lazy Hyuga student. His impression of Satoru could be summed up in one sentence:

He sleeps in class and pees after class.

What's going on? You're a ninja from the prestigious Hyuga clan!

In contrast, Uchiha Rin, also from a prestigious family, excelled in every subject and competed with Kakashi for the top spot. Then there's Hyuga Iruka, who, although not as gifted as them, worked tirelessly and was still considered a genius in his own right.

But you...

Fujino Daiki instinctively reached for his head, but then hesitated, wincing at the sparse strands of hair he had left. His Mediterranean-style hairline had been spreading lately, and he could only sigh.

"Sigh... Next time, I'll bring some wolfberries to brew in my thermos for energy!"

If only Satoru knew what Fujino Daiki was thinking, he'd shout in protest, I may sleep through class every day, but after school, I work hard!

Every day, it's the same boring political and theoretical lessons. You're not teaching ninjutsu, and the basic techniques, like the three-body technique, I can teach myself. Why would I stay awake in class?

Not to mention, I need to grind experience for electromagnetism. If I don't practice, how can I level up?

It's not like I can perform the "Blade Storm" on the classroom floor, right?

"Ah, that feels good..."

Hyuga Satoru stretched lazily and wiped the drool off the corner of his mouth. When he turned his head, he saw Red Bean happily eating a rice ball, looking at him with admiration.

"Huh? Is class over?"

"Satoru, you're so brave!" Red Bean said with respect. "Just now, before class ended, Fujino-sensei stared at you for a long time."

"No wonder I felt a chill on my back when I was sleeping." Satoru nodded in realization.

Just then, Satoru suddenly sensed a sharp, unfriendly gaze. He turned and saw Hyuga Iruka, coldly staring at him from the front of the classroom.

Satoru shrugged.

Though they were both from the Hyuga clan, Satoru's relationship with Iruka was anything but friendly.

Over the past few days, Iruka had approached him multiple times, accusing him of dishonoring the Hyuga clan's prestigious name. Iruka had even sternly challenged him to a fight, wanting to prove that the branch family wasn't just a bunch of slackers.

Of course, Satoru wasn't about to accept, because he was afraid he'd accidentally kill Iruka with a single blow!

Satoru had noticed that Iruka's chakra had been increasing rapidly, almost reaching the level of a Genin. But the key thing was, that level wasn't enough to concern him.

He hadn't been idle either.

His electromagnetism experience had gone from 2 to over 600. While he hadn't reached LV2 yet, his control over electromagnetism had become much more proficient. His physical strength had also improved significantly through constant training, and he could now fully perform the Magnetic Storm Eighteen Palms.

Gentle Fist against Magnetic Storm Palm? That's an easy win for him. He was genuinely worried that if he lost control, Iruka might never get up again.

Over the past few weeks, Satoru had trained his physical fitness to almost extreme levels. He discovered that improving his physical body strengthened his biological magnetic field, which in turn amplified his control over electromagnetism.

Every night, he followed a rigorous fitness regimen, using the prisoner workout techniques he'd learned in his past life.

However, he had also realized that there was a limit to this feedback. It felt like there was an invisible door, preventing him from delving deeper into electromagnetism.

Satoru suspected this might be due to his current level.

With LV1 electromagnetism, there was only so much authority he could wield. It couldn't infinitely amplify. The level represented the amount of authority over electromagnetism—higher levels meant more powerful abilities, like creating nuclear bombs with bare hands or even pulling planets by hand. He had a long road ahead.

Satoru took a deep breath, his eyes gleaming. During this time, he had saved up some money. Combined with what he had previously, it should be enough to buy a better bow and arrow.

He had always been obsessed with archery. He just hadn't purchased one yet due to lack of funds. Now, it was time to visit a ninja tool shop.

After school, Satoru began searching for a ninja tool shop in the village.

The Hyuga clan was strict when it came to rules and systems. Iruka, being from the clan, always headed straight to the training field after school, while Satoru, due to his unique situation, was practically free-range. This was why he enjoyed more freedom than most.

Satoru wandered the village for a long time, finding many shops, but either the prices were too high or they didn't carry what he needed.

After a bit more searching, Satoru arrived at a new shop. The décor was rather simple, but the selection of ninja tools was varied and dazzling.

"Hello, may I help you find something?"

The female ninja at the counter smiled warmly at him.

"I'm looking for a bow and arrow, metal ones. Both the bow and the string need to be metal."

The female ninja blinked, puzzled. "Do you mean the body of the bow should be metal?"

"Not just the bow. The bowstring must also be metal," Satoru replied, shaking his head.

The bowstring?

The female ninja froze, then hesitantly asked, "Do you know that bowstrings need to have strong elasticity? Usually, materials like spider silk and other high-elasticity fibers are used. You can't use metal for the string."

Satoru nodded.

"I know, but I specifically need a bow with a metal bowstring. The body of the bow doesn't have to be entirely metal, but the string must be."

She frowned. Satoru looked no more than 6 or 7 years old, so it was almost impossible for him to afford ninja tools. If not for recognizing his Byakugan and knowing he was from the Hyuga clan, she might not have served him at all.

But now, he was insisting on a metal bowstring. Was he just trying to make trouble?

Satoru felt a headache coming on. This was why he had saved up some extra money before coming out to buy the bow. With his requirements, it seemed like he wouldn't be able to buy it, or if he could, it would be too expensive.

He was starting to lose hope when a familiar voice made him pause.

"Hyuga Satoru? What are you doing here?"

Satoru turned and saw Uchiha Rin walking in, curiously looking at him.

"I'm here to buy something," Satoru instinctively replied.

"What is he buying?" Rin asked, turning to the female ninja.

The female ninja gave a slight bow to Rin, then turned to Satoru with some dissatisfaction. "Miss, he wants to buy a bow with a metal bowstring. That's impossible."

Miss???

Satoru was taken aback.

Seeing his expression, Rin raised an eyebrow and, in a calm tone, said, "I forgot to tell you. My parents run a small business, and this store is part of my assets. By the way, if you go left, this entire street belongs to my family."

Satoru froze, his lips twitching slightly.

Did you misunderstand what a small business is?

He had always thought of Uchiha Rin as a competitive overachiever, but now he found out she was a hidden heiress.

It's a tough life when you compare yourself to others!

He suddenly remembered that the Uchiha clan had close ties with the Ninja Cat Clan, whose matriarch was one of the biggest arms dealers in the ninja world. If anyone in Konoha was never lacking in ninja tools, it was definitely the Uchiha clan!

"Why do you want a bow with a metal bowstring?" Rin asked.

"I need it for a special jutsu," Satoru explained. Once he had the bow, he would definitely use it, so there was no need to hide it.

"A special jutsu?" Rin's lips curled up slightly, her eyes glinting with interest. "I knew you weren't as simple as you seemed."

"Why's that?" Satoru asked, intrigued.

"During the shuriken throwing test, although your score wasn't high, you formed a very peculiar pattern. Don't tell me it was just a coincidence."

Satoru studied her carefully: tall, with straight black hair that reached her waist, a flat chest, and that signature Uchiha arrogance on her face.

Rin tilted her head in triumph, then turned to the female ninja. "Do you have the bow he needs in stock?"

The female ninja hesitated before saying, "We do have similar ones, but they are very expensive. He probably can't afford it..."

"Bring it out," Rin said, her voice calm.

Reluctantly, the female ninja fetched a wooden box, opened it, and inside was a bow with a metallic sheen to its string, alongside several arrows with metal tips.

The bowstring was made of a special metal, and since ninja tools were rare and expensive, the female ninja hadn't mentioned it earlier. It was clear that this wasn't something Satoru could afford.

Although the Hyuga clan was wealthy, Satoru's attire didn't scream "wealthy."

Rin handed the box to Satoru.

"Here you go."

Satoru blinked. "You're giving it to me? Why?"

"I need pressure from a worthy opponent to become stronger. Since you're not as simple as you seem, investing in you as my opponent aligns with my goal. Besides, a bow isn't a big deal."

Seeing the casual manner in which Rin spoke, Satoru couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine.

This is a combination of the overachiever and the rich heiress!
