[JASMINE – POV]
I expected Lucas to falter after I dared him.
Instead, he stepped even closer, eyes locked on mine like I was the only thing that mattered. His voice dropped, low and heated. "Then watch me."
And just like that… he kissed me.
Not a soft, unsure kiss. No. This was a kiss that demanded attention—hot, firm, and filled with everything he hadn't been saying.
My back hit the lockers, but I didn't care. My fingers curled into his shirt, holding on like the ground might shift under me.
When he finally pulled back, breathless, his forehead rested against mine.
"That's step one," he whispered.
I swallowed hard. "And what's step two?"
He smirked. "Winning your heart. Every day."
God help me—I was already losing.
[LUCAS – POV]
Kissing Jasmine felt like setting fire to every wall I ever built.
But it wasn't just about heat—it was about meaning. She wasn't like the other girls. I couldn't mess this up.
After class, I left a chocolate bar in her locker. Her favorite, I'd noticed. And a note:
"Step two. You're not getting rid of me that easily. –L"
I spotted her reading it later.
She smiled.
Victory never tasted this sweet.
