It was a stormy night. The sky roared, lightning flickering every few seconds as rain poured down, each droplet crashing against the ground. Soon, the Temple's land was flooded, ponds forming at every few steps. Thankfully, the storm drains slowly let the water flow away like small rivers.
Because of the constant noise, Raniel covered his ears with the blanket. His legs were chained, and every time the thunder shrieked, he would flinch, causing the chains to make a soft clinking noise.
He hadn't realized when a shadow made its way inside the room. It didn't come through the window, but through the main door, which meant it had passed the strict security that awaited in front of Raniel's quarters.
