Chapter 1 - :Just a high schooler

A secret government corporation known as Corp CSX discovered something uncommon. Series of mysterious rifts appearing across the solar system seen through satellite surveillance.

However, they soon realized it was not just this solar system. Galaxies light-years away were experiencing the same effects.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed those rifts led to different dimensions , and unknown worlds. No one can tell what was on the other side. But that's enough to send the scientist into a frenzy.

The scientists of Corp CSX scrambled to obtain information. They worked day and night, but it was useless.

Without hesitation—without fully comprehending the dangers—they rushed to action. They launched a spacecraft toward the nearest rifts. It was rift orbiting close to the Moon, with one goal: harvest a small portion of the rift's energy. The spacecraft orbited near the rift of the moon with one goal:to harvest a small portion of its energy

It wasn't long before the experiments began. It was kept secret, but the experiments were reckless. Like madmen, they exhausted themselves over dimensional travel.

Everything was about to change. The world was about to be revolutionized. Soon they were able to configure a device that allowed such possibility.

But of course, things didn't go as planned.

The program caused a sudden system failure that triggered a catastrophic malfunction in their dimension-traveling device.

The machine exploded, and it released a mysterious blue shockwave that swept across the planet. From that day on, humans began to awaken superpowers.

The abilities were simple at the beginning—flight, teleportation, telekinesis and so on.

But new powers were discovered, more intense, destructive, space-altering abilities. Powers beyond anything mankind can handle.

But... that wasn't all that came.

Fifty years after the shockwave a mysterious, malevolent energy began emanating from Earth's skies.

A crack appeared—a sealed dimension, that forcefully opened. The Devil World.

Since then, alien beings and devil-like monsters poured into Earth, spreading destruction, and chaos.

In response, Corp CSX took action. They established the Hero Division. A division created to fight back against the horrors from beyond.

Within the Hero Division, there were two special categories— the elites and the elite 5.

The Elite Heroes are warriors strong enough to fight back high-tier aliens and devil monsters. Capable of threatening the planet or even the solar system.

And above them are the Elite 5. Humanities five strongest beings on the planet. Heroes powerful enough that even the elites couldn't compare.

...Present Day.

"Ughhhhh!" Shijun groaned, slamming his head onto the school desk. No older than fifteen.

Just another school day... same routine, same boring student life.

School, go home, sleep.

Sometimes... just sometimes, he wonders if there could be more.

Anything—anything would be better than this generic, deadbeat life.

While he continued sulking, a voice suddenly cut through his thoughts—snapping him back to life. "Hey, Shijun!"

His head shot up instantly.

"OH! H-Hey Cherl!" he blurted, sitting upright way too fast.

Yup. You already know. The only reason Shijun hadn't completely lost his mind from boredom... was her.

Cherl.

"Are you just gonna sit here the whole lunch break?" Cherl asked, raising a brow.

"OH! Eh-beh UH! No! I-I was just about to head to the canteen!" Shijun scrambled, mentally facepalming himself.

"God damn... I really fumbled that..." he scolded himself inside. Cherl giggled.

"Hehe, why are you always so tense around me? Do I make you uncomfortable? Orrrr... are you hiding something from me?" she teased, her head getting closer.

"OH EH N-NO!" Shijun panicked.

"Oh, come on, Shijun—get your act together..." he cursed himself silently.

Then Cherl's tone shifted a bit, more casual.

"Oh, by the way—did you hear about the recent attack from the Devil World?"

"Huh? Again? That's like... the third time this week." Shijun frowned, pulling out his phone to search it up.

Suddenly, Cherl's phone started ringing. "Oh... do you need to get that?" Shijun asked.

"Uh, yeah! But hey..." Cherl smiled softly, her voice gentle, "be careful, okay Shijun? I care about you... so stay safe."

Before he could even respond, Cherl rushed off, looking like she was in a bit of a hurry. As soon as she left the classroom—

"SHE CARES ABOUT ME?! DID I HEAR THAT RIGHT?! SHE TOLD ME TO STAY SAFE TOO?!"

Shijun jumped up in pure excitement, hands in the air as if he had just won the lottery or something.

Every classmate in the room turned to stare.

"WOOOOHOOO!!" Shijun cheered.

"BRO SHUT UP," a classmate yelled from the corner.

"My bad..." Shijun muttered, sinking into his seat, slightly embarrassed.

Meanwhile...

Cherl ran to the back of the school, answering her phone.

Ringing... ringing...

Caller ID: Hero Corp.

Her cheerful, bubbly tone from before? Gone.

In its place—cold, professional focus.

"Yes, hello."

A low-toned, serious voice came through the line.

"Cupid, we've picked up alien Baruzo's signal. He's near your sector. You're the closest. We need you to intercept immediately."

"Got it. I'm on my way." Cherl replied, hanging up.

In a blink, her entire outfit transformed—swapping her school uniform for a sleek pink and white hero suit, complete with a bright pink cape flowing behind her, and a shining heart emblem on her chest.

Elite Hero — Rank 10 Hero Name: Cupid

City Skies—

"EHEHEHEHE!"

The alien Baruzo cackled. His grey body was lined with strange textures, a semi-circular silver head, and two mischievous green alien eyes that just screamed trouble.

BOOM!!

The alien crash-landed into the middle of the city, the ground trembling beneath him.

"AHHHH!"

"I-IT'S AN ALIEN!"

Citizens scrambled. Chaos erupted instantly. Some tripped over each other, others panicked so hard they couldn't even run.

The streets descended into complete chaos.

Baruzo laughed to himself.

"HAHA—NO HEROES HERE RIGHT NOW!"

With a flash, his body shifted—shapeshifting into a tall figure wearing an orange suit and a blue cape.

"This disguise should do for now..." Baruzo muttered, smirking wickedly.

But just as he finished speaking...

A streak of pink zipped through the sky—Cherl landed gracefully on top of a nearby building.

"G-GUYS! IT'S CUPID! WE'RE SAVED!!" "YEAH, CUPID'S HERE!"

The crowd, once frantic, erupted into cheers.

Ignoring the praise,

Cherl's sharp eyes scanned the area, immediately spotting the "hero" in the orange suit. She descended, landing right beside him.

"Hey, you're the hero who followed that alien here, right? You seen where it went?"

Baruzo, still in disguise, slammed his fist into the ground dramatically.

"Ah, I didn't... lost him! Slipped past my sight!"

Cherl nodded... but her eyes narrowed. Something felt off.

"...Hey... have I seen you before?" she mumbled, frowning slightly.

"Eh? Y-Yeah, duh! I met you once before! You're the almighty Cupid—everyone knows that!" Cherl's expression didn't change, but she already knew.

"...Okay... then what's my nickname? Y'know, the one people always call me?" she asked, arms folded.

The disguised alien blinked.

"Uhhh... Badass...?"

"Tch."

In one swift motion, Cherl's fist flew forward, slamming straight into Baruzo's face, shattering the disguise in a burst of pink sparks.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN FOOL ME, BARUZO?"

Baruzo stumbled back, the illusion gone, revealing his full alien form again.

"DAMN IT—WHEN WERE WOMEN THIS SMART?!" he grunted, brushing the dust off himself and getting into a fighting stance.

"Guess I have no choice... I'll have to take you down now!"

Cherl tilted her head. "Take me down, huh? HA."

Cherl smirked under her mask — she motioned him forward with a flick of her finger.

"Try me."
