"So this is the opportunity you mentioned? Even on this cruise ship, there are strong individuals to temper Big Brother. When you think about it, he's truly blessed by fate." Na'er stood on the balcony of their room. Both she and Gu Yue knew that a Super Douluo had taken Tang Wulin away to temper his body in the vast ocean.
"Being favored by destiny is no joke."
A somewhat indifferent voice came from behind, causing Na'er to turn back toward the room.
Bai Xu was tinkering with a transformation device—a compact version of a mecha suit. Once activated, the armor would perfectly encase the wearer's body and temporarily grant them access to Bai Xu's Five Elements abilities. At the moment, he was making adjustments to it.
Gu Yue watched as Bai Xu manipulated the Five Elements and remarked, "Although your Metal Element is strong, most high-level fighters have their battle armor fused with their bodies, connected by blood and soul. Battle armor possesses its own spirit. Fully integrating your Five Elements into it won't be easy."
"It's not impossible. Once I refine my six viscera and advance further in the Five Elements, it'll be doable. The only issue right now is that I'm still not strong enough."
Bai Xu stood up, and the three of them walked out onto the balcony together.
Gu Yue frowned. "Did that Super Douluo kill a lot of Sea Soul Beasts? Why else would a horde be attacking?"
At that moment, the once azure ocean had inexplicably turned a dark violet.
A massive water column, dozens of meters in diameter, erupted from the distant sea and slammed violently against the ship's activated soul barrier, sending ripples across the shield and causing the vessel to shudder violently.
Almost immediately, several figures shot into the sky from the two cruise ships, hovering midair.
Five individuals stood imposingly in the air, each exuding an overwhelmingly powerful aura. Leading them was the Silver Moon Douluo, Elder Cai.
They gazed down at the churning sea, their expressions grim.
A terrifying will surged from the depths of the ocean, transmitting directly into their minds:
"Humans, you trespass through our territory and slaughter our kin. Hand over the murderer, or we will bury all of you here."
This was not spoken aloud but conveyed through spiritual force—yet everyone inside the ship's protective barrier heard it as clearly as if it had been shouted.
A colossal figure slowly emerged from the water, its silver-white back resembling a small island. A massive shark fin rose like a blade, radiating a chilling sharpness. Not far from it, an even larger dark purple figure surfaced, its body stretching at least several hundred meters long.
As soon as these two appeared, an overwhelming pressure erupted from the sea. More terrifying creatures rose to the surface—mostly Demon Spirit Great White Sharks and Deep Sea Demon Whales. Together, the two groups numbered over a thousand. Their combined aura blanketed the ocean with an oppressive, suffocating presence.
And beneath the waves, yet another savage beast lurked, watching intently.
Elder Cai's voice was cold and firm. "We are merely passing through. None of us have killed your kin. If you do not stand aside, do not blame us for resorting to force. Do you truly believe two hundred-thousand-year soul beasts can stop us? Humanity has never lacked those in need of hundred-thousand-year soul rings. Soul beasts are already on the brink of extinction. Do you truly wish to throw your lives away? Do you think humanity is incapable of conquering the seas? I do not know who killed your kin, but we are not of the same kind. Regardless, we will protect our own."
The conflict between humans and soul beasts had long since reached an irreconcilable point. Land-dwelling soul beasts were practically extinct, and with the Spirit Pagoda's artificial spirit souls becoming increasingly advanced, the remaining soul beasts had even less room to survive. Sea soul beasts rarely dared approach the mainland, leaving the deep ocean as their last refuge.
Gu Yue and Na'er knew that the unknown Super Douluo associated with Tang Wulin was likely the one responsible for the killings. Yet this scene only strengthened their resolve.
"In the struggle between races, there is no right or wrong. The defeated are left to dust. The strong prey on the weak—this has been the way since ancient times," Bai Xu mused.
The two girls glanced at him strangely before sighing. "We don't pity the sea soul beasts. It's just that seeing this makes us empathize. Strength is the only truth that matters."
As if responding to Gu Yue's words, Mu Ye appeared.
Five black and four red soul rings materialized, exerting crushing pressure over the battlefield. His four-word battle armor clad him instantly, transforming him into a giant hundreds of feet tall.
"The murderer is right here. What will you do about it?"
"You!"
No further words were exchanged.
A battle at the Super Douluo level erupted, shaking the skies and the sea, destabilizing space itself.
Yet, surprisingly, the two were evenly matched.
The savage beast, unwilling to back down, unleashed its full power, as if activating a hidden trump card. Eight massive tentacles descended, drawing vast streams of blue energy from the ocean into its body.
Mu Ye refused to yield.
A divine-grade mecha materialized—a crimson figure that tore through the heavens. The six-meter-tall red mecha swiftly morphed into an enormous blood-red greatsword. Mu Ye's body shrank as he gripped the blade, his aura overwhelming.
Seeing this, the savage beast knew it stood no chance.
It turned and fled.
A cloud of black ink erupted, obscuring everything as its underlings retreated. The pursuit of vengeance was abandoned.
The cruise ship remained unharmed.
All aboard were left in shock and awe, the younger generation gazing in admiration at the Super Douluo's might, yearning for the day they too could rend the skies and split the earth.
But Gu Yue and Na'er…
They understood the sea soul beasts' plight all too well.
Land-dwelling soul beasts had already been pushed to the brink. It was only a matter of time before the deep sea fell as well.
There were far too many experts like Mu Ye—and at least ten even stronger than him.
How could the few remaining savage beasts in the Star Dou Forest possibly stand against such odds?
In truth, the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena, was the soul beasts' only hope for breaking this deadlock.
Bai Xu stood as an observer, detached, his emotions unreadable.
The Spirit of the Plane perched silently on his shoulder, watching just as impassively.
Gu Yue seemed to realize her own significance.
Her fists clenched slowly, as if steeling her resolve—even her gaze toward Bai Xu turned icy.
"Why are you looking at me like that? It wasn't me who killed them," Bai Xu said.
"Hmph!" Gu Yue snorted coldly before turning and sitting on the bed. "You're not wrong. Humans aren't wrong. Soul beasts aren't wrong either. The only mistake is that we're too weak. That's all. But in the coming three-way struggle, who will win and who will lose… remains to be seen."
With that, she slowly walked behind Bai Xu.
Her finger extended like a blade, pressing against his back—a strike there could pierce straight through his chest and seize his heart.
Leaning close, she whispered in his ear, half-joking, "I hope you grow strong enough in the future… Don't give me an opportunity."
Bai Xu shivered before turning to face her.
"In battle, no one stands behind me. Besides, soul beasts have no reason to hold such hostility toward me. I'm just its proxy." He pointed at the Spirit of the Plane on his shoulder.
"Hehe, Gu Yue's just teasing you." Na'er suddenly poked him from behind.
Bai Xu: "..."
