Chapter 15 - Dreamer

"Is there any way you can use to get out of this dome? Didn't you tell me your kind harvests memories from dream bubbles? What happens when it becomes a dream shard like this? How do you usually get out?"

Zane asked. He needed to know if the gentlet hunters had any method of getting out, maybe then he could try to help them. Although Zane doubted if he could provide any help. After all, he was a normal human being — not really ordinary, but the system couldn't be helpful in this situation. He wasn't some sort of god or powerful entity.

"We normally enter a dream bubble and leave before it's exhausted. There has never been anybody who escaped from a dream shard once. We entered this dream bubble to chase this dream eater," the blue-headed Roman soldier said, pointing at the strange creature lying dead on the ground.

"We didn't expect the bubble to become exhausted so fast. It only took 8 days for the bubble to shatter. A green bubble is always less dangerous and more stable — it usually takes around 60 days for them to become exhausted. We never expected to be trapped here after only 8 days."

He then bowed his head, looking at the ground.

"If the great ancestor wills it, can you help us get out?"

The other gentlets also diverted their gazes towards the ground, shaking their heads in unison.

Zane didn't really know how to help them. He was genuinely clueless.

Also, what did they say about being trapped here for 8 days?

Was I really unconscious for that long? How can this be possible? Also, since they said they have only been in the dream bubble for 8 days and the bubble gets exhausted after around 60 days, does that mean I have been here for nearly 2 months?

A grim expression was now plastered on Zane's face. How could he have been unconscious for that long?

Has Dad been alone for the last 2 months? Who has paid for his nursing fee for the past month? Fuck! I shouldn't have come here. I should have just lived off selling fast paints. What about school? Will they still take me in after missing classes for 2 whole months?

Zane was now engulfed with regret and worry. He shouldn't have come here. What in the world was he thinking? Did he forget that he still had a father to take care of?

These rushed decisions will be the end of me. I should have stayed for a little longer, maybe increased my attributes and upgraded the realm traveller skill.

He then took a big breath.

Everything will be fine. I don't think the hospital will just leave my father. I've been paying consistently for 3 years — how could they just abandon him for failing one month? School be damned. I have a system that can earn me more money than slaving under someone's employment. Right now I have to figure out how to get to Eryndor. I might gain more information on this realm, and possibly how to get out. Let me get out of this dome first and see what's outside.

Zane then moved towards the dome. He wasn't sure what he'd find outside — maybe he'd find that fake sun. To be safe, he decided to remove his head outside first. There was nothing bad about being overly cautious.

Zane removed his head then immediately retracted it. He was now breathing hard like all air had been removed from his lungs. Actually, all air had been removed from his lungs. The space outside the dome was a vacuum. As soon as he removed his head outside the barrier, all air ran out of his lungs to the point of near suffocation. He was now breathing hard as he contemplated what he had just seen.

The world outside contained just the colorful glowing ground that Zane stood on and the bubbles floating in the empty sky at cloud level. The bubbles were an assortment of colorful spheres suspended in the air. They were all moving in the same direction.

It wasn't much different from an endless vacuum with only the bubbles flowing and the ground similar to the one at his feet stretching endlessly in all directions. The bubbles in the sky were all moving, heading towards the same direction.

Zane now wondered where the forest was that these so-called hunters were hunting the dream eater. Or where Eryndor could be in the endless stretch of the oceanic floor.

He also wondered why there was air inside the dream shard while outside there was none. How could the dream shard allow him to leave but not the air?

Zane summoned the shop tab. He was tired of standing and needed somewhere to sit down and think properly. Luckily he had the system shop.

Zane thought of the zero-gravity recliner Mia was sitting on previously in dream Ashburn.

I should probably buy something comfortable. After all, the system doesn't really consider cost of object but rather cost of material. I'm pretty sure the zero gravity recliner wouldn't cost much. How much would it cost? It should probably cost less than 5 Supreme coins.

Zane summoned the Inventory Grimoire. A sense of heaviness descended into the bubble. The gentlets quivered in fear when they felt the heaviness. The gentlets also had joyous expressions on their faces — they thought Zane had finally decided to help them get out. They observed silently.

Zane wasn't scared of the gentlets seeing him use his strange abilities. They already revered him like some god. Why would he be scared? After all, he wasn't on Earth. To the gentlets, this wasn't something out of the ordinary for an 'ancestor' to do.

He then removed 3 noodles and 3 instant ramen seasoning packets. He placed the items on the colorful ground. The gentlets watched with surprise.

Zane then focused and started imagining a zero-gravity recliner. He imagined its soft leather surface and the cotton inside that made it comfortable. He then imagined random wooden structures to hold it into shape with adjustable hinges to adjust the recliner chair.

Within a few seconds he had already visualized exactly how a zero-gravity recliner would look like from inside to outside appearance.

This shop tab is really amazing, Zane thought as he initiated the transaction.

『Item Price』

Custom-made recliner chair- 2 Supreme coins

What! It's so cheap.

Zane exclaimed after realizing how cheap the recliner chair was. It was within the realm of possibility, but he didn't expect it to be this cheap.

He also decided to order a foot-stool. If he decided to chase comfort, why not go all out?

『Item Price』

Custom-made foot stool- 1 supreme Coin

He then summoned the balance tab.

『Balance』

✦ 58 Super Points

✦ 79 Supreme Coins

He summoned the Inventory Grimoire and reached his consciousness into it, pulling out the recliner chair and the foot stool.

He placed them at the edge of the dome.

The gentlets watched in amusement and surprise as the 'ancestor' removed these strange objects from a book. Zane didn't even know if they knew what a book was.

Zane was now feeling hungry. He didn't know how he'd stayed without food for 2 months.

Probably the spring of vitality.

Zane thought as he started imagining a metallic pot in his head.

『Item price』

Custom-pot - 12 Supreme Coins

Zane was actually surprised. How could a small pot be more expensive than a recliner chair? Impossible!

He exclaimed in his head as he looked at the shocking price of the aluminum pot. He let it digest as realization dawned upon him.

Maybe the system sells metals at a higher price than other items. I thought it was only gold that was expensive. Still, I have more than enough Supreme Coins to buy the pot. Though it's crazy buying a pot for $1200. What am I, Mia?

He thought as he initiated the transaction.

He removed the pot, then moved on with buying wooden plates at 1 Supreme coin each. He then removed them from the Inventory Grimoire. He then proceeded to buy 12 wooden chopsticks. Soon enough he had enough cutlery for them to eat.

He now only needed fire. Zane's father had always taken him hiking in Ashburn forest. He had taught Zane how to light a fire. Zane now had knowledge to buy electronic gadgets, but that took a whole lot of time and probably money.

He didn't have enough motivation to imagine an electric cooker with all its components. Zane also couldn't buy electricity. The system had mentioned energy couldn't be sold by the system — only materialistic objects could be ordered.

Zane visualized a lighter.

Good thing I learned chemistry.

Zane said as he continued to visualize a grill for lighting the fire. A grill was the only thing that he could think of to light the fire appropriately. He didn't want smoke to fill up the dome and kill them, though Zane didn't even know if gentlets breathed. He'd end up dying alone.

Luckily Zane had read a bit of chemistry. He'd read of a certain material that didn't burn at high heat levels. It wasn't metal, and thus Zane was pleased to see that the grill only cost 2 Supreme Coins. The lighter was only 1 Supreme coin.

He then pulled the lighter and the grill out of the Inventory Grimoire.

Good thing those environmental conservatives aren't here right now, Zane thought.

Zane was now ready to feast. Maybe until his stomach was full could he find a solution.
