Luna: "I'll handle this Miss Auror. You don't mind, do you, Ethan?"
Ethan nodded with satisfaction.
Just then, his gaze shifted.
He suddenly glimpsed a letter pressed beneath Connie.
Even though it was submerged in water, it wasn't soaked through.
This indicated that protective magic had been cast on the letter, suggesting its contents were important or precious.
Or perhaps both.
"Is this another new policy targeting me?" Ethan's eyes narrowed as he bent down to pick up the letter.
He tutted in amazement at the pale pink envelope.
"I didn't expect Minister Scrimgeour to be like this in private... Sure enough, there's a reason the Ministry of Magic is doomed."
It was obvious enough from the last one, Minister Fudge, wearing those flashy purple underpants.
[You have obtained "Miss Rosier's Secret Letter" ×1]
Snap.
The protective magic was easily broken.
"Let me see, let me see, what little secrets do you have~"
Ethan licked his lips, looking at the letter inside with great interest.
But as he read, his smile faded slightly.
His eyes shifted, looking down at the soaking wet Miss Rosier on the ground.
He hadn't expected to receive such information...
"Connie Rosier... seems to be quite different from that 'champion of justice', Auror Dawlish, who ended up in St Mungo's..."
Ethan put away the letter.
His thoughts drifted.
He raised his hand, intending to call the March Hare to carry Miss Rosier away, when a sudden chill surged up from the ground!
It climbed up Ethan's calf—coincidentally, the exact spot where Miss Rosier's whip had coiled around earlier.
The cold penetrated his trouser leg, piercing into flesh and bone.
On the surface, it condensed into a layer of frost emitting a freezing chill.
Ethan instinctively tried to shake it off, but couldn't break free.
This made his eyes widen slightly in surprise.
Under the erosion of the frost, his calf had completely lost all sensation!
Emmmm...
"Luna."
Ethan called out that incredibly familiar name and looked up.
He saw a slender, graceful figure, like an elf, walking slowly from the other end of the long table.
With every step, a burst of white frost spread out.
It was as if she were walking through a snowy mist.
Paired with her flowing pale blonde hair, she looked like a pure princess stepping out of a snow kingdom.
—If one ignored the March Hare behind her, of which only half a body remained.
As if blasted by a giant bomb, the March Hare, which had transformed into a spider, now sported a gaping circular hole in its body!
The cut was smooth, with red paint flowing out like a river, mixed with viscera that looked like stuffing cotton.
It spread across the long table.
Like a red carpet leading to the main course.
"Luna..."
Ethan looked at the blonde girl standing in front of him. For some reason, his heart beat a little faster.
It must be joy, Ethan thought with certainty.
It's just that my frozen calf feels a bit numb.
Wearing a mask made conversation inconvenient. Ethan raised his hand, intending to take it off, but Luna stopped him.
Her cold, soft hand covered his.
She spoke softly, "Let me. If you take it off yourself, you'll get hurt again."
Ethan: "That's exactly what I enj— Hiss!"
A bone-chilling cold interrupted Ethan.
Wisps of silver-white magic seeped into the gap between the mask and his cheek, freezing the stuck tissue.
Snap, crackle.
Like leaves on a snowy day, the mask rustled and fell away without a hint of pain.
"There."
Luna's eyes curved into a smile as she gently peeled off the mask and held it in her hand.
"What a pity..."
Ethan touched his smooth cheek regretfully. But upon catching a glimpse of Luna's expression, his survival instinct kicked in, and he immediately corrected himself:
"Cough! Anyway, thank you! Luna! You were a huge help!"
As he spoke, Ethan bared his teeth in a grin and gave Luna a thumbs-up.
Luna puffed out her cheeks even rounder.
She glared at Ethan angrily for a few seconds before letting out a faint sigh.
She pressed the mask against Ethan's chest and said unhappily, "Giving it back to you."
"Heheh~"
Ethan grinned twice.
A trace of silliness appeared on his face, which otherwise looked like that of a noble young lord.
Then, Luna glanced sideways, her blue eyes looking down at Connie, who lay unconscious on the ground.
Her tone cooled slightly as she whispered, "Let me handle this lady. She got in your way, didn't she?"
Ethan: "No need to troub—"
Luna: "Hmm?"
Ethan: "Then I'll leave it to you."
Luna broke into a brilliant smile. "Hehe, leave it to me~"
...Why does it feel like as she grows up, Luna's way of interacting with me has changed somewhat?
Ethan rubbed his chin, falling into deep thought as he watched Luna skillfully levitate Miss Rosier, pack her up, and take her away.
Sigh I really miss that clingy little sister who used to just follow behind me
Ethan sighed faintly.
If his thoughts right now were heard by other male compatriots, they would surely become enraged enough to turn into Tarzan!
Especially his roommate Michael Corner, who would absolutely shout in grief and indignation:
"What is humblebragging?! This is humblebragging!!"
"You are just blatantly showing off, dammit!!"
Things had come to a close.
Ethan's trip could be considered quite fruitful.
Not only had he increased his knowledge and skill levels, taking his personal magic to the next level, but he had also successfully "resolved" the big trouble that was his supervisor, Connie.
Ethan fingered the pink [Secret Letter] in his pocket.
He looked thoughtfully at the retreating figures of Luna and Miss Rosier.
The reason he dared to hand a living person over to Luna was precisely because he understood her.
He knew that Luna would absolutely never do anything bad to an innocent person.
"At most, she'll just play some games with Miss Rosier," Ethan laughed. "Hehe, making new friends again, that's nice~"
Of course.
The biggest harvest of this trip was naturally displaying his latest creative artwork to the students!
Ethan: "I'm sure that after this artistic edification and baptism, they will be much more vigilant.
"I really am a good professor. If Headmaster Dumbledore saw my teaching results, he would be so pleasantly surprised he'd pull his beard off."
As for the cleanup...
Ethan glanced at the messy wreckage scattered everywhere and raised a relaxed smile.
Always planning ahead, he had already asked a hardworking and considerate companion to come help him clean up!
"It's almost evening. I should head back to Azkaban to prepare for tonight's expedition."
Thinking this, Ethan opened an Anywhere Door and stepped through.
While he was away, a puppet double would take his place in the cell.
Anyway, no one dared to get close to him regardless.
—Not long after Ethan left.
Another panting figure ran over.
The "hardworking and considerate" Severus Snape saw the chaotic scene before him, which was comparable to hell itself.
His vision went dark.
From the inside out, he threw his head back and erupted with a roar that came from the bottom of his soul:
"ETHAN VINCENT—!!!"
"YOU PEST—!!!"
