Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: The Fairy's Legacy

On the day of the Goblin Art Exhibition.

Ethan and Luna sat side by side, holding the badge-shaped Portkey, and exclaimed excitedly:

"It's changing!"

Inside the badge,

the carved blonde girl let her hair fall down from the tower.

Like a spread-out carpet, the silky smooth golden hair reached all the way to Ethan's leg.

"How amazing."

Ethan exclaimed.

He exchanged a look with Luna, clasped her hand, and together they grasped the golden hair.

In an instant,

it was as if a hook had snagged Ethan's belly button, and he was yanked into the badge with a whoosh!

The real tower magnified before his eyes, and he could clearly see the rough, uneven surface of the bricks.

Borne by the carpet-like golden hair, Ethan passed through a window.

His vision blurred, and then he stood in a massive hall.

From the tens of meters high ceiling, chandeliers hung, each holding hundreds of candles.

Orange-yellow light spilled down, reflecting brightly on the glass display cases containing artworks.

A faint, musty smell of age permeated the air.

This was the Goblin Master's art exhibition.

The windows were all curtained, making it impossible to discern the external scenery.

But it was certain that this was an ancient and luxurious castle.

"Wow, this place is truly beautiful."

Luna exclaimed.

She pulled out her specially brought red and blue round glasses, held them up to her face, and examined everything carefully.

Ethan, meanwhile, thought:

In the future, he too must hold a large art exhibition like this.

To let others properly appreciate his paintings.

Around them, low voices could be heard:

"I heard this Goblin Master is getting on in years, but he has no children, so he's looking for an heir to inherit his vast and ancient fortune!"

"No wonder his art exhibition has been so popular recently... Indeed, who wouldn't want a Goblin fortune that's been passed down for hundreds of years?"

"This ancient castle, and the countless gold and silver treasures buried beneath it, as well as various other assets... I dare say Malfoy doesn't even count as a fraction compared to him!"

"Too bad, he only wants an heir with true artistic talent; we mediocre people can forget about it."

Listening, Ethan's ears twitched.

Goblin treasures?

An heir with true artistic talent?

He perfectly matched the requirements of this old rich man!

"Old Goblin, why is your money calling my name?"

Ethan dared to assert.

Looking at the entire world, he couldn't find a second person with as much artistic talent as him.

Just go to St. Mungo's and ask the contestants from the challenge.

If he could have this money, it could also improve Luna's family situation.

This strong girl deserved everything best.

Ethan thought seriously.

However, although a desire arose,

he also knew that this was not something that could be obtained in a day or two, or even a year or two.

For now, it was better to happily tour the exhibition.

Ethan looked at the glass display case in the center of the hall and murmured:

"'Wish', it depicts the story of a little girl lighting a match and seeing a fleeting illusion...

"An enchanting illusion outlined with gemstone powder? It can even float in mid-air, quite exquisite skill, I wonder how it's done...

"However, in terms of expressive effect, I feel it's not as good as my 'Eris's Call'."

Hearing this, the wizard next to him, who was also admiring the sculpture, became displeased.

He turned to glare at Ethan, frowning: "Your painting? This is the Goblin Master's work! Don't talk nonsense if you don't understand! I've never seen a better work than it!"

Upon hearing this,

Ethan immediately, with a whoosh, pulled "Eris's Call" from his system gallery and stood it before him.

[Eris's Call]

[First Order · golden legend]

[Effect: Makes the viewer intensely captivated, as if personally experiencing and sinking into their deepest desired illusion, unable to extricate themselves]

Golden brilliance spread down.

And so, besides the brilliance, there was nothing else in the world.

The wizard's mouth slightly agape, his pupils dilated, staring fixedly at the painting, as if his soul had been snatched away.

He presented a captivated posture.

The other guests looked at this scene in horror, retreating several steps.

Immediately, a vacuum zone appeared around Ethan.

Ethan nodded: "At least, it needs to reach this level."

"Since you like it so much, I'll let you look at it for a while longer."

Ethan patted the wizard's back and sauntered to another artwork.

The wizards standing in front of the glass display case, admiring it, watched him warily.

Ethan: "'Budding Life'... Hmm, if it were me, I would directly create a small person completely for exhibition."

"'He' would think he's in a real world. Little does he know, his birth, aging, sickness, death, every single move, are all under the gaze of others."

Ethan looked up, met the eyes of the other guests, and smiled:

"Like you."

!!!

The others instantly felt a chill down their spines!

A little girl immediately burst into tears, and the art exhibition instantly became noisy.

"Oh, don't cry, poor child."

Luna spoke, a friendly smile gracing her gentle face.

She leaned down and said:

"Want to pet a puppy?"

"Pu-puppy?"

The girl stopped sobbing, curiously peering over.

She saw three ferocious heads lift from Luna's arm.

"Waaah!!!"

Tragic wails immediately filled the entire art exhibition.

Luna straightened up, looked at Ethan in confusion, and whispered: "She's strange, isn't she?"

Ethan analyzed rationally: "Perhaps she doesn't like black."

Just as the art exhibition descended into chaos,

a sharp-faced witch suddenly stepped out.

Pushing up her rimless glasses, her sharp gaze swept down to Ethan, and her red lips parted:

"Mr. Ethan Vincent, please come with me."

"Master Grumm Thor wants to see you."

Upon hearing this,

everyone present gasped in unison!

This kid was Ethan Vincent?

That Hogwarts brand demon who had just appeared in The Daily Prophet?!

"I haven't written my will yet..."

A wizard said tremblingly, on the verge of tears.

His companion rolled his eyes at him.

After a brief panic,

everyone realized the true meaning behind that sentence!

The Goblin Master wanted to see Ethan Vincent!

That evil artist who drew illustrations for The Quibbler!!

"Could... could it be that Master Thor is going to take Ethan as his heir? Is he going to let Ethan inherit his ocean-like wealth?!"

"No, it's not decided yet... It's also possible he's just calling the disruptive brat over for a lecture."

Everyone's fervent gazes followed Ethan's figure as he disappeared into the second floor, which was off-limits to guests.

They clearly knew.

If Ethan was truly, truly favored by the Goblin Master,

then Ethan's identity, being poor and without backing, would undergo a world-shaking change.

The sharp-faced witch led Ethan into the study on the second floor, then bowed and left.

Luna did not follow, but was arranged in another lounge.

Ethan pushed the door open.

He saw the chair at the desk in front, its back to Ethan, slowly rotating.

Revealing an incredibly ugly creature—he was short, his entire body shrunken into the chair.

One ear was chipped, his face was like a shriveled squash, and his small black eyes emitted a malicious and cold light, making people instinctively uncomfortable.

There's a story here.

Ethan thought.

The old goblin grinned, revealing two rows of sparse, pointed teeth, and laughed without reservation:

"Come in, troublemaker. I hope my appearance doesn't overly impact your young mind."

Ethan blinked and said sincerely: "No, I think you're very handsome."

...Heh, humans, what a glib bunch of creatures."

The old goblin scoffed, but his expression softened a little.

Ethan stepped inside.

Just then, a faint blue subtitle flashed across his vision: [Detecting tradable character - Goblin Master Grumm Thor]

[You can use an Ancient Coin to hire this person to teach you the art of sculpting]

[Key points for mural grade judgment: Terrain environment (sculpture), Remaining creations (Living Painting), etc.]

Ancient Coins!

Ethan remembered the three coins not of this world that he had picked up in Herpo the Foul's Abandoned Mansion.
