"Claire," William said firmly but not unkindly. "You're exhausted from your matches. Your essence pathways are strained. You need to rest."
Something in his tone cut through her mind. Claire blinked, her grip on his wrist loosening slightly as confusion crossed her face.
"I... yes. I am tired." She released him completely and took a step back, pressing her hand to her forehead. "I don't know what... I'm sorry. That was inappropriate."
