Chapter 116 - Chapter 50: How Did Three People Die in One Night?

[Player 5's Turn to Speak]

"As I said earlier, Player 10's identity is crucial. Now that they were killed on the first night, it's basically certain they were a good person. That makes the identities of Players 7 and 9 quite delicate. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're both wolves. They've just entered my suspect pool because I still think it was Player 10 who initiated the conflict between them. Player 9 was just defending herself."

"If either Player 7 or 9 were wolves, they would've known that Player 10 got killed on the first night. Getting into a conflict with them after that would just lower their own credibility, wouldn't it?"

"So compared to those two, Player 2, who had a chaotic speech earlier, seems more suspicious."

Shiina Hiyori smoothly shifted some of the pressure away from Ichinose Honami.

"Also, I want to say this: the wolves don't necessarily need to kill Player 12, the Seer, tonight. They could target someone among Players 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, or 9. I suspect the couple is among those six, and there's about a one-third chance of hitting them. That's not bad."

"Let's just vote out Player 2 today. If the wolves eliminate someone tonight, the couple won't be able to hide much longer."

"Since Player 12 has claimed Seer, that means they're definitely not one of the couple. If they find a wolf tonight, we can even consider not voting out that wolf immediately tomorrow."

"After all, neither the good guys nor the wolves want the third party to win, right?"

"That's all. Over."

Shiina's speech was quite skillful. From a purely good person's point of view, she managed to deflect suspicion from her fellow wolves. She capitalized on the logic that most players would want to vote out Player 2, and subtly planted the idea that the couple might involve a wolf. This way, even if they identified another wolf later, the good faction might hesitate to vote them out, fearing it could hand victory to the third party.

This tactic also served as a safeguard for the wolves by hinting to the good guys not to eliminate a second wolf too hastily.

After realizing that Player 4, her fellow wolf, was none other than Kitagawa Ryo, Shiina Hiyori's mind became more active.

She leaned her head on her right hand and reached out with her left to poke Player 4's avatar.

Though she wanted to confirm it during the wolves' nighttime discussion, she didn't yet know who the third wolf was, so she held back for now.

Recalling Kitagawa Ryo's strong dislike for the couple system during Day 1, Shiina tailored her speech to align with that stance.

Anything that stood in the way of her and Kitagawa winning as wolves needed to be eliminated.

[Player 5's Turn Ends]

[Player 6's Turn to Speak]

"Hmm, looks like we're deciding between Player 2 and Player 9."

"Let me talk about the Witch. The Witch is probably not part of the couple. Even if they were selected as one of the lovers, they wouldn't know on the first night whether their partner is good or evil."

"There are 11 identity cards besides the Witch's, and only 3 of those are wolves. That means there's only a 3/11 chance their partner is a wolf."

"I believe any rational Witch would choose to save someone in that case. The odds of their partner being a good person are more than double."

"Wolves almost never fake a self-attack on Night 1 to bait the Witch into wasting a potion. Whoever was killed was almost certainly a good person, maybe even someone with a special role."

"Given that, even a Witch who's part of a couple should've used the healing potion. So the more likely explanation is that the Witch role was buried by the Thief."

Ayanokoji Kiyotaka continued his logical breakdown while also thinking about Karuizawa Kei's identity.

Villagers are the hardest role to play in this setup. They have no information, and sometimes even the words of special roles can't be trusted, since they might belong to the third-party couple.

Despite these tough conditions, Player 6's consistent, logical analysis was enough to make other players start watching him cautiously.

"I agree with Player 5's suggestion that wolves and good people should temporarily cooperate to find the couple."

"I said the same last round — no one wants to hand victory to the third party."

"To the wolf team: when choosing your target tonight, try to swing the vote a little. See if anyone in your team resists targeting a specific player."

He ended his turn with a light attempt to sow distrust within the wolves' ranks.

Staying hidden is a skill — but in a game like Werewolf, demonstrating your value is key.

Gaining control of the table, guiding the conversation and the votes — that's how you win.

Ayanokoji looked at Players 1, 4, and 8. Karuizawa Kei was likely one of them.

She should've already picked up on the message he'd been subtly sending.

[Player 6 has finished speaking]

[Player 7, please speak]

"I've summarized what everyone said before."

"Some players think that since Player 10 is out, Player 9 and I are suspicious. This kind of backward deduction is far too crude."

"Good players can have both good and bad arguments. You can't just decide I'm a werewolf because I had a disagreement with someone from the good camp."

"Anyway, I'm definitely not a wolf. And if you're going to push someone, Player 9 is more suspicious than me. I only spoke up once in her defense, but she directly clashed with Player 10."

Player 7 deflected suspicion quickly, but their logic was shaky.

"In my view, there's one wolf among Players 1, 2, or 4. Since Players 5 and 6 have cleared me, I consider them likely to be good. That leaves 8 and 9 as a pair of wolves."

Even though they previously said Player 9 shouldn't be declared a wolf just because of Player 10's elimination, Player 7 now had no other options and reluctantly added Player 9 to the wolf pool. By this point, their argument was falling apart. Realizing this, they wrapped up:

"If the Seer doesn't trust me, feel free to check me. I'm done."

[Player 7 has finished speaking]

[Player 8, please speak]

"2, 5, and 7 are the three wolves, with Player 9 as margin of error. The wolves are definitely among these four."

"There's no need to say more about Players 2 and 9."

"As for Player 5, their statements have always been weird. For example, in the first round, they claimed Player 6 was good just because he didn't mark them as a wolf. That's a weak basis."

"Then last round, they were all about stirring up drama against Players 7 through 10. But this round, they suddenly flipped and started mimicking Player 6's logic to find the Lovers? What, not hunting wolves anymore?"

"Scared one of your wolf teammates—either 7 or 9—might get voted out?"

Sakayanagi Arisu smiled playfully. After confirming that she and Kitagawa Ryo were likely the Lovers (third party), she went all in. To her, aside from the two of them, everyone else, including Cupid, could go to hell.

"Player 7's logic has totally collapsed, everyone should hear that. But maybe they're just a good guy stressed out from being labeled a wolf. So for safety, I included Player 9 as margin."

"Let the Seer decide the vote. I'm done."

[Player 8 has finished speaking]

[Player 9, please speak]

Ichinose Honami took a deep breath. Clutching the sachet in her palm, she supported her forehead with one hand, mind racing to assess her current situation.

After the conflict with Player 10, suspicion toward Player 9 had skyrocketed. If not for the chaos caused by Players 2 and 7, she would've been voted out for sure. Even if she survived today, she probably wouldn't make it through tomorrow's vote.

There was only one way out now: a bold claim.

Among the roles left, the Seer was confirmed, and the Witch was under heavy suspicion. Her only viable options were claiming Hunter or Fool.

Pretending to be the Thief was too risky, as the Thief naturally has too much insider info that would be hard to fake.

[Hunter] or [Fool]?

[Hunter]!

She had to go all in with a strong role card. Her real role was [Wolf King], which, like the Hunter, comes with a gun. Even if she got voted out, she could still shoot someone to mislead the good team's count of wolves.

Fortunately, only Players 11 and 1 would speak after her (besides Player 12 who would finalize the vote). So as long as the true Hunter wasn't one of them, any rebuttal would have to wait until the next day.

With her plan set, Ichinose Honami spoke lightly:

"Looks like I have no choice but to reveal my role. I'm the Hunter. Surely no one still thinks I'm a wolf now, right?"

-------------------------------------

Sakayanagi Arisu immediately senses the real danger.

She's the actual Hunter, and from her perspective, Player 9's sudden claim makes it clear—9 is a Werewolf.

But she can't speak up.

She spoke before Player 9, and more crucially, she's the Hunter with a Lover role.

If she tries to counterclaim now and gets voted out, Player 9's side could simply kill her at night. Even if they get voted out the next day, Arisu will die—and so will Ryo as her Lover. The third party would be wiped out.

She can't afford that.

Player 9 continues:

"I don't know if there's a Witch, but I think not saving Player 10 was fine. That guy just wildly accused people based on position—he'd only cause more chaos alive."

"They say I reacted too strongly, but if I'm a Hunter and someone calls me a wolf, I should fight back. If I get voted out, who should I shoot?"

"So Player 10's death helps us clarify things."

"Two wolves among Players 1–5, one more in 7 or 8. Vote out Player 2 today. Seer can verify another tonight. The path to victory is clear for Good."

"That's all. Done."

Arisu realizes: Player 9 is not just a Werewolf, but likely the Wolf King.

The Wolf King doesn't fear a real Hunter—they both have a gun. It's hard for the Good side to tell who's who.

Player 9 timed her claim perfectly, catching Arisu in a trap. She might really slip into the Good camp in a Hunter disguise.

[Player 9 has finished speaking.]

[Player 11, please speak.]

"Vote out Players 7 or 8. Leave Player 2 for now."

Horikita Suzune, keeping her voice calm:

"I was Gold-checked by Player 12. Player 10 is dead. Player 9 claims Hunter."

"I don't trust position-based logic, but since four in a row seem to be Good, one of Players 7 or 8 must be a wolf."

"Player 7's speech was worse—vote him out first."

"Ignore Player 2. Even if he's a Werewolf, he's useless. Vote him out tomorrow."

"If the Seer can't decide, put Players 2 and 7 in a face-off. Whoever gets more votes goes."

"That's all. Done."

Being a newer player, Horikita sticks to safe reasoning. With the field so exposed, the best tactic is to follow the crowd.

[Player 11 has finished speaking.]

[Player 1, please speak.]

"I think we should just focus on finding Werewolves for now. Mixing in Lovers and wolf logic is too messy—I'm confusing myself."

"I'm already dizzy from all these speeches."

"If the Witch is gone, we'll vote one out today, wolves kill one tonight, Seer checks one—tomorrow it'll all be clearer."

"Maybe one of tonight's kills or today's vote will hit a Lover. We don't need to overthink right now."

"That's it. Done."

While not the best speech from the last voter before results, her point is fair—tomorrow will bring more clarity.

[Player 1 has finished speaking.]

[Player 12, please speak.]

"Player 9 might be a wolf faking Hunter."

Ryuuen Kakeru considers the possibility calmly. Claiming a role when you're about to be voted out always raises suspicion.

"If she's a wolf, she's trying to survive one more round. I don't really believe she's the Hunter."

"But since she's the only one who claimed, if a real Hunter exists and already spoke, vote out Player 9 this round to test her."

"Tonight I'll check Player 3. If I die tonight and Player 3 is Gold, I'll pass the badge to him. If it's a wolf, I'll give it to Player 11."

"From what I've heard, at least one wolf is in Players 7 or 9. But since Player 9 claimed Hunter, we can't just vote her immediately."

"So, Players 2 and 7 go up for the vote."

"Let's see who the wolves try to protect."

Ryuuen ends his turn.

[Everyone has finished speaking. Time for exile voting.]

The eleven remaining players vote:

[Players 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 vote for Player 2.]

[Players 2, 9 vote for Player 7.]

[Player 2 is eliminated.]

[Player 2, please make your last words.]

"I got voted out just because I didn't run for Sheriff? Seriously…"

"What is the Seer doing? And the Hunter? And the Witch? Just reveal your roles and go full open!"

"The Good side doesn't deserve to win."

"This game is just luck-based!"

"Unfair!"

Player 2's final words are as pointless as his speeches.

On the cruise, everyone bursts into laughter at the angry face of Totsuka Yahiko shown on the screen.

Even Class A mocks their own classmate. After all, they'd just boasted that anyone playing poorly must be from Class D—only to get proven wrong.

Fortunately, Totsuka belongs to Katsuragi's group, so the Class A students quickly change their tone:

"We knew Katsuragi and Totsuka were a disgrace." "They should've handed over their invitations." "But Sakayanagi is still in." "Exactly."

As the crowd murmurs, the game transitions to night.

[Night falls. Close your eyes.]

[Day breaks.]

[Last night, Players 3, 9, and 12 have died.]

Everyone stares in shock at the announcement.

Three players dead in one night—including the Seer?
