Chapter 60 Onyi's POV
I stood there in the courtyard, a mix of emotions swirling inside me as I watched the king's convoy prepare to leave for the temple of the black witches. Duke Ryker was nearby, checking the equipment with a focused expression. I felt a shiver run through me as I thought about the temple, about the danger that might await the king and those going with him.
As I stood there, my gaze drifted across the courtyard, and suddenly I saw her. Laila. She was standing at the far end of the palace, partially in the shadows. She looked at me, and a smile crept onto her face – an evil smile, one that sent a chill down my spine. It was like she knew something I didn't, something bad.
Laila didn't linger. She turned and walked away, disappearing into the shadows of the palace. I felt a knot of fear in my stomach. What did Laila want? And what did that smile mean?
I looked back toward Duke Ryker, who was now talking to some of the soldiers. I felt uneasy, like something was off. I remembered my mark on my neck,the crescent moon mark and touch it .The king was leaving for the temple, Laila was watching me with that evil smile... which tells more than I know.
Writer's POV
Laila left immediately as the cars took off. In the forest,she called two black owls and transformed them to humans. She said to them " Spread out the news of the king intruding the temple today and make sure it reaches Amanda, and don't forget My Sister, that traitor". They vanished into thin air,as she broke out a sinister laughter" Time has come"....
