Adrian's POV
I was surprised to find Lizabeth rifling through my documents, but even more taken aback when she accused me of cheating.
I didn't argue, because deep down, I was guilty. But it had only been once. And she was guilty too, yet somehow, she found it easier to cast the blame solely on me.
Still, I decided to convince her otherwise. I needed this marriage to work now. I had already resolved to make it work—to devote myself to her and put our pasts behind us and start again. The packs needed this. Th alliance like I discovered yesterday haven't done anything to bring the two together.
As we approached her pack's square, I paused, watching her body tremble with fear at the sight of one of her pack members about to be executed. Something twisted inside me. My resolve hardened. I would not let this happen again. And to make sure of that, I needed to get closer to her.
