Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 The Entry System, Magic Prodigy!

Chapter 2

Devero was stunned by the sound. Could this be the golden finger prepared for him?

It came a bit too late, didn't it?

[Ding!]

[Newbie Gift Pack has been distributed!]

[Congratulations, Host, for obtaining the Entry: Magic Prodigy (Unique)]

[Magic Prodigy (Unique): You are the most talented learner in the magical world. There is no spell you cannot learn; you can master any spell at a glance.]

Devero stared at the information, dumbfounded. This was too absurd! Could it be that he accidentally opened the bottle of Bewildering Mirage Potion last night?

With this setup, wouldn't he be able to learn Apparition just by watching someone else do it? Or transform into an animal by observing Professor McGonagall's Animagus spell? This was just too awesome!

And this "Unique" entry had no color attached to it.

Did that mean...

He was the only one in the entire world with this entry!?

[Ding!]

[Panel loading completed. The Host can now view it!]

[Host: Devero Alexander]

[Age: 11]

[Status: Hogwarts first-year student (not yet enrolled), Potions Apprentice]

[Spell Library: None]

[Equipped Entries: Traverser (Unique), Magic Prodigy (Unique), Potion Sense (Blue)]

[Entry Inventory: Unique (2), Red (0), Gold (0), Purple (0), Blue (1), Green (0), White (0)]

[Pet: None]

[Items: None]

[Magical Secret Realm Explorations: 0]

...

[Traverser (Unique): You are the only traverser in this world, protected by a great existence. No one can peer into your past or future, and no one can access your memories! Causality cannot lock onto you!]

[Potion Sense (Blue): You have an innate keen intuition for potions, able to discern their properties and effects with ease. This ability makes you exceptionally adept at handling and identifying various potions.]

...

No one can access his memories? A natural master of Occlumency!

This Traverser entry was just too terrifying!

And causality couldn't lock onto him?

Did that mean his future couldn't be predicted?

Come to think of it, it must be because of the Potion Sense entry that he could quickly identify different types of potions.

Looking at his entries, Devero was thrilled beyond measure.

He barely even glanced at the contents of the envelope.

Snape frowned slightly, snatching the envelope, "Enough dawdling. Finish your breakfast, and we're heading out."

Still reeling from the shock of receiving the system, Devero looked up at Snape. Instantly, Snape's entries appeared before him.

[Name: Snape]

[Age: 32]

[Spell Library: Occlumency (Unmatched), Sectumsempra (Mastered), ...]

[Entries: Potion Genius (Gold), Magical Talent (Purple), Atoner (Purple)]

...

[Potion Genius (Gold): Born for potions, you progress at an astonishing speed in potion research, destined to become a potions master.]

[Magical Talent (Purple): Possesses magical talent surpassing ordinary wizards, learning spells faster than most, with a certain degree of creativity.]

[Atoner (Purple): Burdened by guilt, living every moment to atone for your sins, with extraordinary willpower that enhances certain spell effects.]

...

Oh my gosh!! Professor Snape truly lived up to his reputation as Hogwarts' youngest professor!

All his entries were Purple or above. And his spell repertoire was vast beyond measure.

If Snape were to cast all these spells in front of him...

Heh heh heh.

It was almost too much to imagine.

The Potion Genius entry was clearly a superior version of his Potion Sense.

And Magical Talent (Purple) was likely a lesser version of his Magic Prodigy.

As for the Atoner entry...

Well, no comment. If not for his atonement, Snape probably wouldn't have made the great sacrifice he did in the original story.

But the most important thing was!

He could actually copy and equip all three of Snape's entries!

"I'll pass on the Atoner entry for now; I don't want to carry such a heavy burden. But speaking of which, can a Unique entry be copied? If I copy it, would it become 'One of Two' instead?"

Of course, Devero wasn't too concerned about that right now.

He immediately equipped the other two entries!

[Ding!]

[Copying Entry: Potion Genius (Gold)...]

[Copying Entry: Magical Talent (Purple)...]

[Copying Complete!]

In an instant! Devero felt his body change in some indescribable way.

It was like a kind of perception.

The potion knowledge he had learned before suddenly felt more vivid.

Yes, just like when he gained the Magic Prodigy entry!

He now felt a sense of transcendence throughout his entire being!

But then Devero noticed that copying entries came with a cooldown?

[Entry Copy Cooldown: Gold (6 days, 23 hours), Purple (23 hours)]

Upon closer inspection, he realized that copying entries of different ranks had different cooldown times.

Gold entries: 7 days.

Purple entries: 1 day.

Blue entries: 1 hour.

Green entries: 1 minute.

White entries: No cooldown.

Devero pondered this time restriction thoughtfully.

*Thud!*

A wave of dizziness hit him.

Devero clutched his head in pain.

"Stop daydreaming and eat your breakfast." Snape lowered the hand he'd just used to rap Devero's head and continued eating his breakfast.

Devero rubbed his head, feeling like crying but unable to shed tears.

Sigh.

Even with such a powerful golden finger, he still had to live under Snape's thumb?

Caught between excitement and frustration, Devero finished breakfast with the oblivious Snape.

"Hey, did you hear? This is the year the Boy Who Lived starts at Hogwarts!"

"How could I not know? He's bound to come to Diagon Alley. I'd love to meet him. If I could shake his hand, I'd probably faint from excitement!"

"Yeah, if it weren't for him defeating You-Know-Who, we wouldn't have these peaceful days."

The pub was already filling with guests, discussing the hottest topic of the moment.

The Savior was starting school!

Devero was already tired of hearing about it these past few days.

He turned to thank Tom, the friendly pub owner, who smiled warmly.

Then Devero lifted his suitcase, nearly as tall as himself, and headed outside.

At that moment, Snape suddenly pulled out his wand.

Birchwood.

He tapped Devero's suitcase lightly. Instantly, the suitcase became incredibly light. Even Devero could easily lift it over his head!

Of course, he didn't dare try.

Just then—

[Ding!]

[New Spell Successfully Added to Library!]

[Host can view it in the Attribute Panel!]

Devero froze as the details of a certain spell seemed to flood his mind!

His heart leaped with joy.

This must be the effect of his Magic Prodigy entry! so he immediately summoned his attribute panel in his mind and sure enough, a new spell had been added!

[Spell Library: Levitation Charm (Beginner/Silent Casting Version)]

It was even the silent casting version!

Right.

Snape had just used silent casting!

So he should be able to instantly learn any spell cast in his presence.

Devero couldn't wait to try it out.

But to his disappointment, he realized...

He didn't have a wand...

Snape had only used the silent casting version.

Not the wandless casting version.

Devero had no choice but to hurry after Snape, who had already passed through the bar.

Anyway, today was about buying the supplies he needed for Hogwarts.

A wand was naturally essential.

They arrived in a courtyard surrounded by walls.

Devero was a bit excited.

After all, Snape had never brought him to Diagon Alley before.

The thought of seeing the most famous commercial street in the British wizarding world was thrilling!

Snape, expressionless, pointed his wand at the third brick up and two across on the wall.

He tapped it three times.

The brick he tapped began to tremble and shift.

A small hole appeared in the center.

The hole grew larger and larger.

Until it formed a passage wide enough for an adult man to pass through.

Looking through, it revealed a winding, cobblestone-paved street.

[Ding!]
