As soon as they both left, Joon Hyunk also called Miss Sun Hee and Ji Ho into the office. He told them about going to the hospital and said that maybe he wouldn't be home for the next few days, so they could also take a break from work for some days.
After hearing all this, Miss Sun Hee and Ji Ho also started worrying a lot about Yeo Jun. Slowly, slowly, Joon Hyunk had almost finished all of his work for the next week. And now evening was about to come. Joon Hyunk told them to cook food and then leave, that he would handle the rest of the work himself.
So, Miss Sun Hee and Ji Ho both, after finishing their work, left early from there.
Meanwhile, Yeo Jun was sitting in his room, trying to finish his assignments since morning. But every time, his old memories would overpower his mind and he couldn't do his work. When he could no longer fight with his own mind, he gathered all his things together to put them back in their proper place.
While putting his books away, suddenly all those voices of people began echoing in his head—his father's words, saying that he was unlucky, that because of him his mother's death had happened, that they would send him away calling him mad. His stepmother's words, saying that with such a face, no matter where he went in this world, he would never be accepted.
The words of those two men: "He is mad, take him away calling him mad, such people are a danger to society."
The words of his friends: "He is a monster, his face is so ugly."
Yeo Jun felt like everything was spinning around him, he felt as if all those people were surrounding him, making a circle around him, shouting those same hurtful words again and again, accusing him loudly.
Yeo Jun pressed his hands tightly over his ears. He couldn't bear it anymore. He sat down on the floor and started crying, screaming—
"Stop! Please stop! Don't say such things to me. I didn't do anything. I won't harm anyone!"
He was crying and saying all this, sitting on the ground, with his hands pressed hard against his ears.
Suddenly, everything in that room became silent. Yeo Jun slowly removed his hands from his ears. Still crying, now he began sobbing. He wiped away his tears, got up from the ground, and turned off all the lights in his room. Then he went and lay down on the bed.
He thought maybe if he fell asleep, then all these voices wouldn't bother him anymore. So, he made his room dark, closed his eyes, and tried to sleep. At that time, it was 8 o'clock at night.
Yeo Jun tried very hard to sleep, but he couldn't fall asleep at all. Instead, again and again, he kept remembering only those same words.
Worried, Yeo Jun took the pillow lying at the side and pressed it tightly over his face, holding it against his ears so that no such voices could reach him.
As soon as Joon Hyunk came from his office into the room to call Yeo Jun, he saw that Yeo Jun was lying down with a pillow on his face. In the darkness, Joon Hyunk couldn't understand whether he was actually asleep or not. Joon Hyunk didn't think it was right to disturb him. He thought maybe Yeo Jun was worried because of the talk about going to the hospital, so it would be better to let him sleep—if he woke up, he might panic again. That's why Joon Hyunk decided not to wake him up.
Joon Hyunk wasn't feeling that hungry either, so he skipped dinner too. He went to take a shower and then lay down on the sofa to sleep.
Yeo Jun knew that Joon Hyunk had entered the room, but at that moment Yeo Jun was so troubled by his own thoughts that he didn't want to talk to anyone. More than worried, he was now starting to feel scared. What if those people touched him again? What if he had to live among those strangers again? What if the doctors gave him electric shocks again?
Thinking of all this, tears started to gather in Yeo Jun's eyes. He wiped those tears away with his hands and kept lying there.
Joon Hyunk, too, lay down on the sofa to sleep, but tonight sleep was miles away from his eyes. He couldn't sleep at all. Instead, strange, heavy thoughts were weighing on him. He was worried about Yeo Jun—he didn't know what kind of treatment there would be in the hospital tomorrow, and whether Yeo Jun would even be able to bear all this or not.
Lying in bed, Yeo Jun turned to his side, but still all those memories from the past, those painful moments he had lived in the hospital, kept frightening him.
That night, both of them remained awake. Sleep was far away from the eyes of both.
While thinking and thinking, time passed, and they didn't even realize when it became 11 o'clock at night. Suddenly, while lying on the bed, Yeo Jun felt as if all those voices were echoing in his ears again. He started hearing those voices once more. Troubled by those sounds, he sat up on the bed.
Joon Hyunk looked at him—Yeo Jun was sitting on the bed, but he didn't say anything to him. From where he lay, Joon Hyunk just kept looking at him.
Yeo Jun, sitting up, began breathing heavily, trying to calm himself down. He didn't want to disturb Joon Hyunk's sleep, and in the darkness he didn't know that Joon Hyunk was also awake.
Breathing heavily again, Yeo Jun once more pressed his hands against his ears. He didn't know what was happening to him tonight. Everything seemed to be slipping out of his control. He felt like slowly, slowly, he was going insane—if all this didn't stop soon.
In his ears, the voices were echoing: how the doctor would grab him with those burning hot hands and give him electric shocks.
