Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: The Dragon Cuisine With Outstanding Effects

After a crow evolves, it remains a crow—it cannot become a phoenix. However, its unique abilities will inevitably grow stronger.

In recent days, Black and White had been closely following Allen's lead. With Allen's relentless hunting schedule, his hunting level could change up to three times a day. This time, however, the change was particularly significant. Whether it was due to the strength of dragon blood or a buildup of previous progress, Allen's blood-colored hunting level had soared to 15.

Although 15 wasn't extraordinarily high, it was a massive leap—especially for Black, who had originally been at level 5. When Black finally woke up, he would undoubtedly become the strongest crow—bar none.

Allen gently placed the unconscious Black into his pocket. Then, he picked up a plate and activated his Analytical Eyes.

[Fried Dragon Blood Sausage]

Effect: Upon consumption, grants the status [Fire Dragon Furnace C] for 1 minute. The host receives an additional 300 strengthening points.

[Fire Dragon Furnace C]: Magic activity increases significantly. Magic resistance improves slightly. Flame resistance increases modestly. Recovery speed for physical strength, energy, and magic is greatly enhanced.

As expected, the effects of dragon blood were truly potent—nearly rivaling those of dragon liver. Allen couldn't help but recall the stats of two exceptional dragon liver dishes he had previously crafted.

[Orange Dragon Liver Pâté]

Description: This dish pushes the Hungarian Horntail's dragon liver to its absolute limit. Even a Hungarian Horntail couldn't resist applauding the masterpiece.

Effect: Grants status [Precision Dragon Flame D] for 5 minutes. Adds 500 strengthening points.

[Precision Dragon Flame D]: Fire magic effectiveness increases by 10%. Magic accuracy improves by 50%. Control over fire magic becomes greatly enhanced.

[Fried Dragon Liver]

Description: A dish utilizing the liver of the Australian Opaleye to its fullest. Even an Australian Opaleye would covet such a delicacy.

Effect: Grants status [High Temperature Dragon Flame D] for 5 minutes. Adds 500 strengthening points.

[High Temperature Dragon Flame D]: Fire magic effectiveness increases by 10%. Overall magic power increases by 10%. Fire magic power receives an additional 5% boost.

(Allen made a mental note: I forgot to describe these dishes earlier—better add that in.)

Unfortunately, the Fried Dragon Blood Sausage fell short of meeting the criteria for an "ultimate" dish. If it had, the effect would have been far more powerful.

Still, Allen eagerly devoured the blood sausage. Upon finishing it, he gained a new passive enhancement—[Anti-Magic E].

[Anti-Magic E]: Magic resistance increases. Grants complete immunity to magical effects of E-level or lower.

The skill was direct and brutal. Its description alone was enough to convey just how dependable this defense enhancement was. It granted immunity to magic of the same level and weakened magic that exceeded that level.

Given Allen's current magic level, even his own spells could no longer affect him. And once this skill was upgraded, its effects would undoubtedly become even more extreme.

More importantly, this effect even worked against the Unforgivable Curses.

Yes, that included the Killing Curse and Imperius Curse. Once Allen upgraded this skill beyond a certain point, even those notorious spells could be nullified.

Of course, the cost of upgrading such a powerful enhancement was... substantial.

To upgrade Anti-Magic E to D-, Allen would need 400 magic points. That was second only to the resource-hungry [Fire Dragon Breath] skill.

Still, no matter how expensive it was, Allen felt it was worth every drop of magic.

At this moment, all he wanted was to dive into strengthening himself. But now wasn't the time to rush. He still had some things to handle before isolating himself for training.

Allen had turned all the collected dragon blood into blood sausage, carefully preparing every portion. He intentionally left one large piece untouched—one he intended to eat whole later. As for the remaining sausages, they were for distribution.

He handed them to Tom with a few clear instructions.

"These are dragon blood sausages," Allen explained. "Tell the others to cook it properly when they get home—either bake it or fry it in butter."

He paused, did a quick mental calculation, and added, "One stick... 20 Galleons."

Tom nearly choked. "Twenty?! That's outrageous! Your price is way too high!"

It was true—Allen had never sold his dragon liver pâté or pan-fried dragon liver at such exorbitant prices before.

Allen only rolled his eyes in response.

"That's because of the quantity," he replied confidently. "Those dragon liver portions? You could swallow them in one bite. That's why they were only five Galleons each."

"But this?" Allen lifted one sausage, letting its weight speak for itself. "You can get at least one full meal out of it—maybe two or three. If you stretch it out, it could last a whole week. So of course it's more expensive."

By now, Allen wasn't just any amateur cook. He had a growing fanbase, and as long as he didn't cross the line into outright scamming, people were willing to pay for his creations.

In fact, if Allen didn't set a limit on sales, there was a good chance some buyers would try to buy all the sausages for themselves.

Tom sighed but gave in. "Alright, I get it."

He paused, thought for a second, and decided to keep one for himself. Then, without another word, he left with the rest of the sausages in hand.

Despite the steep price and the fact that the dishes were only semi-finished, the wizards welcomed the product with open arms. Many even cheered—especially once they realized how large the portions were this time.

Naturally, Allen made a killing on sales.

With business out of the way, Allen returned to his room, locked the door, and finally began the process of strengthening himself in peace.

Inside his room, a familiar hum of magical energy filled the air as Allen activated the Strengthening Interface. New enhancements, recently obtained, blinked on the panel.

He smiled to himself.

The effort, the cooking, the experimentation with dragon organs—it was all worth it.

He reviewed his current active and passive abilities.[Fire Dragon Breath][Anti-Magic E][Fire Dragon Furnace C] (temporarily active)[Crow Companion: Black – Level 15 Pending Awakening]*Everything was falling into place.

Allen laid out his plans for upgrading. He would continue developing Anti-Magic, aiming for at least a D-level resistance before taking on any more dangerous creatures.

And once Black awoke?

The synergy between a highly evolved crow and Allen's enhanced magical defense would make them unstoppable.

For now, he rested.

Tomorrow, he would move one step closer to becoming not just a dragon chef—but a force to rival dragons themselves.
