Chapter 4 - The First Mission

6 years had passed since Odysseus arrived, and in those 6 years we lost count on how many times he tried getting off the island.

He had aged, his beard and hair had grown longer. And you could see bits of grey on some strands of his hair, Me and Calypso on the other hand didn't age a bit.

We continued to watch and help him with building his ships, Calypso went from hating Odysseus to pitying him and praising him for his undying will to escape and reach home.

In one of his tries he had lost his arm after being struck by a Giant Wave at the coast, Calypso couldn't regrow an arm but apparently I could.

I had reached 24% on my template and my stats didn't change but I obtained more memories of Jacks and his abilities, and one of them was to heal anybody from any injury or sickness with a simple touch.

It was similar to how Castiel would heal Dean or Sam, but since I was a Nephilim it was basically on overdrive. But instead of seeing this as a blessing Odysseus saw this as an advantage, his attempts would become more bolder and bolder.

He once asked for my help to craft him a pair of wings, but as he asked me to help him craft the wings a storm was sent around the island courtesy of probably Poseidon asking Zeus to do so as it never disappeared.

But now instead of trying to build another ship I was looking at him as he was only a few steps away from the ledge of the mountain on the Island.

"Odysseus..." I said as I walked closer to him until I was finally beside him, I looked at him and I could clearly see the despair on his face.

"Julius I have to ask...why do you never try to get off the island?"

I pondered his question and I already knew the answer, I wasn't strong enough to escape just yet.

Until I reached a certain level I wasn't going to try and escape the Island, until I can rival the gods in strength and magic I wouldn't be stupid enough to try.

"As you know I am a Demi-God, unlike you I can take all the time in the world to escape...so until I'm strong enough to protect me and Calypso from the gods I will stay here on the Island." I said as I looked towards the storm that surrounded the Island

"Heh, and here you are saying she's nothing but a friend to you." He said teasingly.

I smiled at him before patting his back.

"Well, stop sulking and come back with me I'm cooking dinner." I said as I stepped back from the ledge.

"I always enjoy your cooking my friend." He said with a smile as he walked with me down the mountain, and as we walked down after 7 years being on the Island I heard an all familiar-

'Finally, a step to getting off this island.'

{Nephilims Odyssey}

Later that evening, after Odysseus returned to his hut, I sat with Calypso under the moonlight. I had to tell her. Sort of.

"Your grandfather wishes you to complete a task?" she asked.

"Yes," I lied gently. "He promised a reward once I finish it. I don't know how long I'll be gone… but I will come back."

Her eyes were filled with doubt and fear.

"I've spent seven years with you," she whispered. "Don't make them our last."

"I won't," I said, meeting her gaze. "I promise. And maybe... just maybe, I'll find a way for you to escape this island too."

She stared at me for a moment longer, then suddenly pulled me into a tight embrace. Her warmth, her scent, the tremble in her arms it all struck me harder than I expected.

Then she kissed my cheek, which I honestly didn't expect.

"If you don't return," she warned softly, "you'll face my wrath."

She turned away, hiding her face behind her hair.

"Go. Before I change my mind and tie you to the bed."

I laughed quietly, taking one last look at her before turning and pulling up the system interface.

[Would you like to accept the quest?]

I already had a plan, reach Emon and make sure Im there for the events of Vox Machina killing the dragon that was in disguise. I've forgotten most of the shows content but I was sure I could handle them.

They may be dragons. But I was a Nephilim.

I was faster. Stronger. The only thing they had on me was fire, scales, and a god-sized ego.

Let's see how long that lasts.

'Accept'

[Initializing teleportation]

Suddenly I felt myself enveloped by energy, one second I was standing outside my and Calypso's home and then all of the sudden I was miles above a forest.

With a single twist my wings manifested, just like Jack's they were covered in a glowing golden light, yet despite this I noticed something very quickly.

I couldn't fly.

"What the hell!??"

It wasn't like I couldn't but every time I tried to move my wings they started to ache and protest as if there was something missing, so instead I covered myself with my wings and braced for impact as my wings may not be of use but they were still very durable.

BOOOOOM!-

Twisting my body I got out of the small crater I made, some of the surrounding trees were burning and the ground I landed was still set ablaze. It wasn't because of my impact but the nature of my wings being related to the Lightbringer made Light and Fire my most potent abilities.

I twisted my shoulders trying to retract my wings, but for some reason they couldn't. Quickly I tried using Enochian Magic to sense my surroundings and thankfully I could still use them. But what I quickly noticed was that my output was significantly weaker similar to when I first got my Enochian Abilities.

"Don't tell me I'm stranded like Castiel!?, Well at least I still have my wings..."

Despite being flightless my wings were still very durable and the fact that any second I can make them radiate light similar to the suns and with them I could burn anyone.

"Now where the hell did I land..."

Quickly crouching down I launched myself to the sky to only see miles of trees around me.

"Isn't this great..."

{Nephilims Odyssey}

[Third Person POV]

It had been days since Julius crash landed in an unknown forest, thankfully he didn't get hungry, thirsty, or tired.

But he was wearing nothing but a Cloak and drapes with Sandles, and it was getting annoying swatting at bugs and twigs.

After awhile he finally saw a rough road made of gravel, the problem was that he had no idea which direction led to Emon. So he could only pray to his 'Grandfather' that he doesn't end up further from Emon.

"I really shouldn't be praying to Chuck of all people, maybe to Jack? He ended up being god in the end..."

Time went by as Julius continued on the path, soon the sun began to set and the moon started to rise. And as it did he could sense creatures around him, not attacking as they could probably sense how much a threat he is but he knew they were just waiting for him to bring his guard down.

Sadly for them he couldn't even do it if he tried, since normally he would have control of his powers but now everything felt like it was in overdrive. The best example he could give to himself was Castiels peanut butter sandwich dilemma, of how he could taste the atoms of the peanut butter but not the flavor itself of the sandwich.

So it wasn't as if he couldn't sense the creatures but it was as if he could sense everything around him as a glowing Three dimensional figure.

"What the hell is happening to me..."

(Some time later)

[First Person POV]

I continued walking until the moon was fully above me, and the creatures that were stalking him disappeared to hunt different pray.

As I walked I began began trying to remember bits and pieces of my memories of what I knew about the show, I hoped that I was sent to the world before the Main Cast killed the Dragon that was with the Chroma Conclave. If not I'm praying to whatever god was watching me that they were still dealing with the Briarwoods at Whitestone.

But unfortunately for me I wasn't that lucky as I began sensing multiple figures in the distance.

Seven of them.

Each one was distinct in the way their life force burned, chaotic yet bright. A wildfire that flickered with doubt, a divine ember that burned steady, a shadow split into two threads, a mountain of raw strength, a silver flame of flickering energy, and one sharp and fractured like shattered glass, gunpowder and smoke clinging to his soul.

Vox Machina.

'Well… looks like I'm right on time.'

Before I could even take another step closer, my senses screamed. Dozens of weaker signatures stirred from the treeline around them, thin and jagged, stitched together with necrotic energy. Not alive, not natural. undead.

"Tch, really? Just my luck."

Up ahead I could hear Grog's laugh echoing across the road, the group relaxed, not aware of the swarm closing in on them.

And then the first screech tore through the night.

A ghoul lunged straight out of the treeline, claws reaching for Keyleth.

I didn't even think, I was already moving. My Wings glowing a golden light burst out as I slammed into it, my hand closing around its skull. Holy fire consumed it instantly, ash scattering before it even hit the ground.

And my new acquaintances froze.

"What the!?-" Scanlan yelped, nearly falling backwards.

Percy didn't hesitate his gun was already leveled at me. "Identify yourself. Now."

I raised my hand slowly, as more screeches echoed around us.

"I'll explain later," I said, My eyes scanned the treeline as the undead poured out.

"But right now, you've got bigger problems."

"Undead!" Pike shouted, summoning radiant light to her mace.

"Oh great," Vex muttered, drawing her bow. "Another bloody necromancer mess."

I stepped forward, wings spreading wide, light illuminating the road as dozens of green-eyed corpses staggered closer. And by my very presence they began to burn slightly.

"Stay behind me if you want to live."

Vax scoffed, twirling his daggers. "That's our line, stranger!"

But I didn't even bothering answering her as I charged forward, and as I got closer they started to burn even more.

I grabbed one by the faces my eyes glowed golden, and in a second it was reduced to ashes. Two tried sneaking up on me to tackle me but all I did was flap my wings to them and they were sent back ablaze in fire.

More started coming but as I was about to raise my hand to deal with them quickly I heard three consecutive bangs and three projectiles went pass my head killing three of them.

"Come on buddies let's help the glowing bird man!!!"

Grog charged forward with his axe swinging splitting undead in half left and right, Scanlan and Pike followed him with Scanlan on a glowing pink giant hand with Pike riding it along with him before leaping onto an undead with her Mace carving it's chest in.

A couple of small vines burst from the ground keeping some of them in place just in time for Vax to slice thought them with his daggers. And finally the last two undead were killed by a arrows that went pass me.

There was a slight awkward silence as every member of Vox Machina turned to me, finally being able to get a good look at me.

"No way..." Pike was the first one to break the silence, as she clutched her pendant.

I didn't really know how to talk to people other than Calypso and Odysseus but I decided to introduce myself like how Jack would do.

"Hello, I am Julius" I said bringing up my hand with small wave and a warm smile.
