Chapter 47 - CHAPTER 46

"Nilu, eat the pale Reiatsu."

"Hi hi, Kanbaru is the best."

Nilu cheered, lying comfortably on Kanbaru's chest as she began to devour the pale spiritual pressure flowing from his body.

Inside the room, pale blue-white Reiatsu radiated off Kanbaru like a thin mist, dense yet calm, and it was rapidly being absorbed by the small green-haired girl.

"By the way, is Nilu really an Adjuchas-class Arrancar?"

"Why does she seem... so weak?"

Kurosaki Masaki squatted beside them, eyeing the little green-haired girl curiously. She poked Nilu's cheek with one hand, watching her twitch slightly but not resist.

Logically speaking, an Adjuchas-class Arrancar should possess Captain-level combat strength—dangerous and powerful.

But Nilu looked no stronger than an average Hollow. At most, she seemed like a fragile mascot.

"Not very strong?"

"Masaki, don't underestimate Nilu."

Kanbaru shook his head calmly.

Indeed, Nilu appeared weak now, but that was a result of the traumatic head injury she suffered in Hueco Mundo—an event that had severely sealed her powers and scattered much of her Reiatsu.

Once she recovered enough spiritual energy, her original form would return.

As a former Espada, Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck wasn't just a high-tier Adjuchas—she had already achieved Vasto Lorde evolution and was ranked among Aizen's strongest.

"As long as she regains sufficient Reiatsu, she can revert into her true Espada form," Kanbaru explained. "She's not just Adjuchas—she's a full-blown Vasto Lorde-class Arrancar."

"Tch, like that'll scare me," Matsumoto Rangiku scoffed with a teasing grin. She leaned forward, sitting duck-style in front of Kanbaru with her chin on her knees, blinking at Nilu.

Very cute. Very... appealing.

Matsumoto had a thing for adorable girls like Nilu. She felt the irresistible urge to tease her.

Kanbaru ran his fingers through Nilu's soft green hair, gave Rangiku a sidelong glance, and said, "She's the former Espada No. 3, Nelliel. One of the few natural Vasto Lorde Arrancar."

"…What?!"

"Vasto Lorde?"

Masaki's eyes widened.

Rangiku staggered and almost fell flat on the tatami.

She pointed stiffly at the quiet green-haired girl draped over Kanbaru like a sleepy housecat.

That mascot-level loli… was Espada No. 3?!

The Vasto Lorde were the highest evolutionary tier of Menos-class Hollows, rarer than diamonds in Hueco Mundo. Each one was on par with, or stronger than, a Captain.

And Arrancar who evolved from Vasto Lorde?

Monsters among monsters. Even the likes of Kenpachi or Byakuya wouldn't dismiss them lightly.

"That little one's Reiatsu... doesn't even register," Rangiku muttered, hand still pointing. "She looks like she couldn't break a window."

"Don't believe me?" Kanbaru raised a brow. "Then watch carefully. You're about to see her real self."

He gently stopped Rangiku's hand from poking Nilu again.

After all the feeding—pale Reiatsu, Hōgyoku-tinged residuals, even his own Quincy-enriched spirit energy—Nilu's core was nearly restored.

He could feel it.

"Ugh, fine..." Rangiku huffed. "I still want to tease her. She's just too damn cute."

But before she could make another move—

Boom!

A green Reiatsu wave surged up from Nilu's small body, thick and heavy like emerald fire.

It crackled through the air like pressure plates shifting the dimension itself. A storm of spiritual particles gathered, and then—

BANG!

A puff of thick white smoke exploded around her.

As the haze cleared, both Masaki and Rangiku gawked.

There stood a tall, mature woman—nearly 180 cm, clad in a tattered blue coat barely covering her abdomen. Her waist-length sea-green hair fluttered, and her slender limbs radiated elegance and latent danger.

That skull mask fragment now curled into twin broken horns along her forehead.

Her curves rivaled Rangiku's.

The number "3" glowed faintly on her back—Espada Three.

And the Reiatsu—

An ocean.

Heavy, crushing, ancient. It swirled through the air like a hurricane bottled in human skin.

Both women dropped to their knees, gasping.

For a moment, they couldn't breathe. The very air was crushed under Nilu's spiritual pressure.

Captain-class? No—this was a tier above that.

"Vasto Lorde-class Arrancar… she's real…" Rangiku whispered, her tone somewhere between awe and panic.

The pressure lifted.

But the room remained frozen.

Nilu blinked. Her gaze scanned blankly at the surroundings, expression unreadable.

She muttered something—soft and indistinct.

Still in a daze. Still mentally caught between her child and adult states.

But the moment she saw Kanbaru—

Everything changed.

The cold look melted instantly. Her eyes became warm, affectionate.

Without hesitation, she fell forward, wrapping her arms around him, nestling into his chest like a sleepy cat.

"H-Hey—easy! I can't breathe…!"

"I can finally hug you like this again… I'm so happy."

"But didn't you always cling to me?"

"That was different. I lost my memory back then..."

Nilu nuzzled into him, her smile dreamy and satisfied.

Matsumoto Rangiku bit her lip.

Unbelievable.

She'd bullied this girl.

Poked her cheeks. Pinched her ears.

Even tried to teach her "bad habits."

And now?

That little cutie was a full-blooded Vasto Lorde-class Espada.

One of the deadliest Arrancar to ever exist.

"…Wait. Does this mean I've ravaged a top-tier Hollow?" Rangiku muttered to herself, half in awe and half in guilt.

Her pride stung, but her curiosity flared.

She had a weird sense of accomplishment.

And... she still wanted to tease Nilu again.

Even if Nilu could probably split a mountain in two now.

"She's too cute for someone so dangerous," Rangiku said, rubbing her head. "How does someone this terrifying end up cuddling Kanbaru like a puppy?"

It didn't add up.

And that made it even worse.
