HOPE
"Congratulations, you passed. I'm really proud of your smartness," Jeremy says, beaming with a smile once I enter his exquisite modern office. It's crazy how the office of a young lecturer is far better than the principal's office.
I released my breath. Guess my wolf was anxious for nothing all this while "Thank you, Jeremy. When exactly is it starting?"
"This evening. Hope… um… uhhh… ehh… about last time. I wish I could tuck my apology into a sunbeam and warm the part of you I left cold. I'm really sorry. I just… in fact, there's no excuse I could give that would ever change what happened that day."
Exactly. At least he knows that.
There's one thing people are so ignorant of — the fact that an apology doesn't really change the fact that you've hurt someone. The pain doesn't go away, and forgiveness doesn't come that easily.
