Battle Of Supremacy
As they formed their gang of kidnappers, Jaguar vowed to take the redneck's secret to the grave.
For over eight years, he has stuck to the promise. He also kept Redneck's identity hidden from everyone.
After witnessing how Redneck took sides with the pastor, Jaguar is convinced that the past is about to repeat itself.
"Bro, that was years ago. I don't do stuff like that anymore.
The boss is good to me. I can't snitch on him at this point in my life.
He turned my life around," Redneck groaned.
He did a lot of explaining just to clear his name from the bad book.
Jaguar wasn't the only one Redneck was worried about. His major concern is the boss who hired them.
Knowing how ruthless the Don is, Redneck is scared that he might not survive the torture that awaits him.
He's lucky to escape death in Sweden. But in California, it might be a different ball game.
"Wait a minute,"
The Pastor called their attention as the argument grew intending
Redneck and Jaguar both focused their attention on him as they wondered what he wanted to talk about.
"I heard you two talk about a certain Don. Is he behind my kidnapping?
Why did he kidnap me?" He tossed a thousand questions at them.
He just couldn't overlook the discussion, even though he wasn't part of it.
Just an awkward glance from redneck to jaguar proved why the latter wanted to inflict severe pain on the pastor.
Now Redneck is stuck between defending the pastor or letting the jaguar have his way with him.
"Give me one reason I shouldn't hit him right now," he confronted the Redneck with a daring look.
He was already getting closer to the pastor as he prepared his punch.
"Honestly, absolutely nothing. I tried my best to protect him from fury.
But it seemed like he was a hard nut to crack. I'm just going to let you do your thing," Redneck surrendered to a defeat.
He stepped aside to let Jaguar take charge of the situation.
After hearing the threat from the jaguar, Redneck would rather not step on the toes of their boss.
He had a terrible experience in Sweden nearly a decade ago. The last thing he would want for himself is to go through that phase again.
"Please don't hurt me.
I promise to seal my lips," Pastor James pleaded as she edged backwards to avoid the wavy punch from the Jaguar.
He had to abort the mission of trying to evade Jaguar's rage.
It didn't occur to him that his movement might have been limited due to the rope that was tied around his legs.
"Perhaps, you'd get it right the next time," Jaguar roared as he made wicked laughter.
The next minute, pastor James had passed out after he heard a terrific sound.
His vision became blank.
He wasn't sure if it was a punch that landed on his face or something else.
Redneck freaked out as he noticed that pastor James wasn't moving anymore.
Quickly, he stepped forward and roughly handled James in an attempt to revive him. Sadly, there was no progress.
He proceeds to rest his hand on James's neckline to confirm his impulse.
Luckily for him, James was still breathing.
"Thank goodness, he's still alive," the Redneck grimaced and let out a deep sigh.
"Bro, what are you doing? Who cares if he's dead?" jaguar fumed at the Redneck.
He was yet to understand the sudden affection from a Redneck.
"Stay out of this, mate. You're losing your mind," Redneck yelled at Jaguar and pushed him on the chest.
After scanning the room, Redneck found a bucket filled with water.
Without hesitation, he took the bucket and emptied it on James' body.
"What happened?"
James asked as he regained consciousness again after he had nearly crossed to the great beyond.
"Are you okay?" Redneck asked James with utmost concern.
"Don't come close to me, you son of hell," he shrugged off. He started praying as though he wanted to cast out a demonic spirit from Redneck.
Despite the rope that was tied around James' hands and legs, he was still able to push the redneck aside.
"I wasn't the one who punched you. Take it easy on me. You should be grateful I revived you," Redneck lost his cool and yelled at James.
"You ingrate.
Is this what I get in return?"
He was irritated that James wasn't appreciative of his effort in keeping him alive.
"What's the difference between a snake and a scorpion?
Y'all are the same. I would rather not see you close to me. I hate y'all," James chastised the Redneck in a great condemnation.
He had to leave after James threatened to spit in his face, the same way he did to Jaguar.
With his face buried in shame, the redneck returned to the jaguar with a heart filled with regret.
"I warned you, didn't I?
I'm thrilled that she treated you that way," Jaguar mocked Redneck with wicked laughter.
He abandoned the Redneck to go puff on his cigarette. Where the Redneck stood, his heart was beating faster.
He felt insulted and humiliated by James. Just when he thought the Jaguar would comfort him, he ended up making everything worse.
"I can't believe I was being ridiculed. I need to do something," Redneck while.
He conjured all the forces of frustration and anger that dwelt inside of him to approach the jaguar.
Engrossed in his cigarette smoke, Jaguar wasn't even aware that the Redneck was standing behind him.
Suddenly, Jaguar halted his smoke after he heard a heartbeat behind him.
Without verifying who it was, he already knew that it was a Redneck.
"Don't do anything stupid, mate.
This ain't why we were contracted," he warned Redneck.
While he urged Redneck to abort any mission to attack, he was already preparing to bring out his weapon to defend himself.
"You should have thought about it before making a fool of me in the presence of the captive," Redneck lamented.
He was uncontrollable.
He didn't trust his guts anymore.
He wasn't bothered if his acts could pose a serious threat to his life.
Still facing the wall, Jaguar clapped back at Redneck, "What the heck are you saying, mate?
You tried to comfort a captive.
Think of what will happen if the boss gets to know about this,"
"The boss?"
Redneck chuckled.
As the argument got tense, the Redneck's phone rang and caused a major distraction.
It was a call from their contractor, Don Pedro Gonzalez.
He barely calls the boys.
The only time he calls is during the negotiation process with the boys.
But today, it seemed different.
He had a feeling that something was wrong somewhere.
"Speak of that devil,"
Redneck muttered as he answered the call. He put in a loudspeaker to crave Jaguar's indulgence.
Despite their rift, he still knows the rules of not sidelining a partner when it comes to communicating with the contractor.
"Good afternoon, Boss," Jaguar was the first to speak.
"Switch to video call.
I want to see the captive,"
The boss demanded without even exchanging pleasantries with his boys.
Redneck and Jaguar shared a telling look that sends a thousand meanings.
They thought of what to do without raising suspicion.
"Boss, he's asleep and sounds.
I suggest we let him be," jaguar suggested and redneck endorsed without grudges.
That was the only time they ever agreed after they nearly ripped each other's skin apart some moments ago.
"Is there something you two aren't telling me?
Why do I have a feeling that you've done something silly?" The boss questioned them with a different kind of voice.
Despite the distance between them, the boys could observe his range.
They were grateful that he wasn't standing next to them.
Else, he would have put a bullet inside their heads for messing with him.
Before calling, he had a feeling that something wasn't right.
But after listening to Jaguar's faded voice, he couldn't help but trust his instincts.
"I would rather not repeat myself. Now switch over to video call. I want to see his face," their boss ordered.
