"C'mon, Cameron. Let's go." Susan turned toward the direction of the bike and started walking.
Ross let her lead the way.
The more he thought about his proposal, the more he realized what a jerk he'd been.
He had no right thinking that Susan would want to be in the same room with him, much less his partner in a temporary marriage.
He couldn't fathom his own logic about the situation. Maybe he just wanted the opportunity to show Susan he wasn't such a bad guy. Or to make up for the fiasco caused by Ellie's return.
Or...well, he had to admit the idea of sleeping with Susan was a big motivator. He'd never wanted a woman like he wanted her.
A deep ache blossomed in his belly every time he looked at her. He had inexplicable urges to do weird things like smell her hair, soothe the worry from her brow, offer foot rubs.
Maybe he was crazy.
"If you've returned from your out-of-body experience, we should leave before it gets totally dark."
