Natalie caught his look and her eyes widened. "Oh."
They ate in silence. Many of the candles had melted down and Garrett had extinguished the ones on the floor. Those on the nightstand and dresser still burned, casting shadows on the walls and over the angles of Garrett's face. Sated, Natalie leaned against the pillows, and watched Garrett eat.
She didn't want to think that Garrett truly had no feelings for her, but then he'd never made a commitment—unless his actions counted. The way he had loved her with his body said more than words ever could.
"Natalie?" His voice rolled over her skin and her body responded to the desire he'd infused in her name.
