He carried a cake in one hand and a few boxes of high-end nutritional supplements in the other as he walked toward the dining room after changing his shoes.
"Lily, happy birthday. I brought you a cake and gifts. Grandma, these are for you; let Auntie make some nourishing soup and dishes with them."
He raised the items in his hands, smiling broadly while chatting with us.
Grandma and Auntie exchanged a glance, both looking slightly embarrassed.
Out of politeness, Grandma smiled, "You shouldn't have, but I can't use them. You should take them back to your parents."
Before Adrian Gordon could respond to Grandma, I stood up with a cold face and said bluntly, "What are you doing here? Who told you to come? Don't you have any shame?"
"Lily, today is your birthday..." Adrian Gordon looked at me with a cautious expression.
"My birthday has nothing to do with you! No one here welcomes you, leave!" I rudely turned him away and instructed Auntie to show him out.
