Author's Note: Welcome to the Novel!

Hey everyone, Mike the author here.

This will be my first original novel. After watching James Gunn's Superman, I felt like writing something in the DC universe, but something different. This will be an AU, meaning an Alternate Universe.

About the Story and the Protagonist

What can you expect? As the title suggests, the protagonist will be Urahara Kisuke, but with my own style and how I want to write him.

The story won't start with him developing his powers or being a child. He will already be a being with centuries of experience and knowledge. He will know many people, whether from his past, which will be gradually discovered as the story continues.

Will There Be a Harem?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but no, there will be no harem.

That's not to say Kisuke won't sleep with many women. It's just that my interpretation of a functional harem probably wouldn't be liked by anyone. For me, in a functional harem, aside from the protagonist loving the girls, the girls must love each other. That is, there has to be yuri. For some reason, many people don't like yuri, and yuri, for a functional harem in my opinion, is 100% necessary. If the women don't love each other, then they would compete for the protagonist's attention, so I decided it's better not to do a harem.

Love Interest

Next question: who will be the love interest? The truth is, I don't know. I was pondering it for a good while; I was debating between Hawkgirl, Supergirl, and Lady Death, among others. But since I just saw Superman and my crush is Milly Alcock, I guess the answer is obvious, isn't it?

Power Level and the Fight with Superman

Just in case you're wondering, my Urahara Kisuke is very powerful; as powerful or more so than the original up to the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. To give you an idea, here is a small excerpt from my notes on a hypothetical 1v1 fight against Superman.

Scenario 1: Direct and Surprise Encounter (No Preparation)

In this scenario, both meet suddenly and, for some reason, must fight immediately.

Superman's Advantage: Absolute and overwhelming. His speed is so immense that he could end the fight before Urahara had time to process a single thought. If Superman perceives Urahara as a lethal threat from the first second, he could blitz him, and the combat would end instantly.

Urahara's Only Chance: His survival depends on his instincts and his defensive Kido.

Initial Defense: He would have to instinctively deploy his strongest shield, the Chikasumi no Tate, to survive.

Analysis and Tactics: If he survives, he would immediately realize he is outmatched physically. His strategy would shift to evasion, analysis, and deception, using high-level Kido.

Exploiting Magic Vulnerability: Urahara would sense that Superman has no defenses against spiritual energy (which would function as magic). His Hadō attacks and his Shikai, Benihime, would harm Superman, though hitting him would be the main problem.

Verdict for Scenario 1: Superman wins 8/10 times. Urahara is a genius, but no strategy matters if you are defeated in a microsecond.

Scenario 2: Urahara with Preparation Time

This is where the scales tip dramatically. Give Kisuke an hour of information on his opponent, and he becomes the most dangerous being in the universe.

Scientific Analysis: He would see Superman as a biological system, a Kryptonian solar cell, and would study his weaknesses.

Weaponry and Strategy:

Kryptonite and Red Sun: He wouldn't just carry a green rock. He would weaponize these concepts. He could create a Kido that emits Red Sun radiation or infuse his blade with Kryptonite's energy signature.

Psychological and Magical Warfare: He would torment Superman with Kido, using illusions, time loops, or pocket dimensions.

The Ultimate Plan: The Bankai: His Bankai, Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame, could "restructure" the solar energy in Superman's cells, dismantle his invulnerability on a conceptual level, or alter the battlefield itself.

Verdict for Scenario 2: Urahara wins 9.5/10 times. His mind, with data, is a conceptual weapon that rewrites the rules of combat.

Final Conclusion

The fight comes down to this: if it's a fight of strength, Superman wins. If it's a fight of intelligence, Urahara wins. The problem for Superman is that Urahara can turn any fight of strength into one of intelligence.

Final Notes

That's all for this auxiliary chapter.

Oh, and I'm going to be slow to upload chapters for this novel because, besides it being original, I am researching the psychology of certain characters like Kisuke, Batman, Superman, Supergirl, etc. I am currently reading Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

The main universe will be Young Justice, but it will be an AU with many, many changes. It will also have elements from other franchises like Marvel, Invincible, Rick & Morty, etc.

I would appreciate comic book recommendations to continue my research and make a better novel.

Thanks. With love, Mike.
