Swish!
After collecting the Dragon Balls, Rayden returned with Trunks and Son Goten, who had been training nearby.
Son Goten pouted and said angrily, "Dad! You didn't even come looking for us after the battle—and you're just sitting here eating?!"
"Hahaha!"
Son Goku scratched his head sheepishly. As soon as food was involved, he forgot everything else.
"Trunks! Goten! Come over here," Vegeta called out.
He handed the large bowl of chicken legs he had just fetched to the two boys.
"Yeah! Awesome!"
Trunks and Goten cheered, grabbing a chicken drumstick in each hand and chomping away gleefully.
---
Half an hour later, everyone was full and satisfied. Empty plates and bowls were stacked on the table.
Rayden stood up and pulled out the seven Dragon Balls from his storage ring. He placed them on the ground in a circle and raised his voice:
"Come forth, Shenron!"
The seven Dragon Balls began to resonate, releasing a blinding golden light that surged into the sky.
The glow faded—and a massive green dragon spiraled into the air.
Shenron's crimson eyes lit up as he thundered, "You who have gathered the seven Dragon Balls, speak your wish. I shall grant you one—no matter what it is!"
Beerus, still lounging and sipping a glass of orange juice, turned to Whis, who was enjoying a pudding cup nearby.
"Whis, can this dragon really grant any wish?"
Shenron, startled by the voice, turned his head—only to freeze in mid-air.
He spotted the thin, cat-like figure reclining casually with juice in one hand and pudding in the other.
"L-Lord Beerus!"
Shenron immediately panicked and bowed mid-air, trembling.
"Forgive me for speaking from such a high place—I didn't realize Your Excellency was here!"
Beerus waved his hand nonchalantly. "Relax. I'm not here for a wish. Just get on with it."
"Y-Yes, Lord Beerus!" Shenron turned back to Rayden. "Please—state your wish!"
Rayden stepped forward. "Shenron, I want you to restore all the planets and life forms that were destroyed in our battle with Beerus!"
Shenron hesitated, his eyes dimming for a moment.
"T-That… that's too much. The scale of destruction is massive. Entire galaxies were affected. I'm afraid my power can't fully manage it…"
Beerus frowned. "Why bother restoring those? You're undoing my work. Do you know how many months of destruction you've just undone?!"
Son Goku leaned toward Rayden and whispered, "What does he mean by that?"
Before Rayden could answer—
Swish!
Three figures appeared: Old Supreme Kai, Supreme Kai Shin, and Kibito.
"Old Supreme Kai! Supreme Kai Shin!"
Everyone greeted them with respect.
Beerus narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here, old man? Weren't you still sealed in that sword?"
The old Supreme Kai snorted and turned away from Beerus without a word. Then he faced the others solemnly.
"The Supreme Kai is responsible for creating life in the universe. We create planets, nurture them, and guide living beings to grow stronger."
He paused.
"But the Gods of Destruction—they exist to maintain balance. They destroy planets that threaten cosmic equilibrium. Too many worlds, too much chaos—it's their job to prune the excess."
Rayden asked, "Then… shouldn't we restore the destroyed planets? Beerus caused massive damage."
He gave Beerus a sharp glare.
"You've been sealed away for ages, Beerus. Time to make up for it."
Old Supreme Kai nodded firmly. "Indeed. It must be restored."
Beerus scoffed. "Careful, old man. You want me to seal you again?"
Old Supreme Kai didn't flinch. "And if I report your reckless destruction to the higher authorities? What do you think they'll do to a God of Destruction who wipes out galaxies unnecessarily?"
Beerus fell silent. The threat wasn't empty. The Angels and Grand Zeno oversaw all universes. If they caught wind of this...
After a moment, Beerus relented with a grunt.
Old Supreme Kai turned to Shenron. "Try your best. Restore what you can."
Shenron hovered in silence for several seconds, then answered, "I can probably restore about one-fourth of the damage."
"Then fulfill that wish," the old Kai said.
Shenron's eyes glowed brightly. His massive body lit up with divine energy.
Ten minutes passed.
Finally, Shenron spoke again, sounding exhausted. "Your wish… has been granted. Goodbye."
With that, Shenron's body dissolved into seven golden orbs, which rocketed into the sky—but almost immediately turned to stone.
Rayden blinked in surprise. Using Instant Transmission, he appeared beneath the orbs and caught all seven.
He stared at them, stunned.
"These… they've turned to stone."
Broly rushed over. "Rayden, what's going on?"
Rayden showed him the unresponsive orbs.
"Impossible! The Dragon Balls are… broken?" Broly said in disbelief.
Son Goku and the others quickly gathered around.
"We've barely used them!" Gohan exclaimed.
"Maybe this wish was too big," Vegeta muttered.
"Rayden, could the Dragon Balls turn into evil dragons if we try to use them again?" Goku asked, worried.
Beerus chuckled. "Well done, old man. Now look at the mess you've made. All because you wanted to show me up!"
The old Supreme Kai frowned. He had only wanted to make Beerus work a little harder—not break the Dragon Balls.
Rayden sighed. "I'll hold onto them. Hopefully they'll recover in time."
He placed the stone Dragon Balls back into his storage ring.
"Hmph!"
Beerus and Old Supreme Kai glared at each other, neither willing to give an inch.
Son Goku scratched his head. "Say… what about Namek? Piccolo's home? They have their own Dragon Balls, right? Maybe we can ask them to restore the rest."
The old Supreme Kai waved him off. "No, Goku. That's not a good idea."
Goku blinked. "Why not?"
Old Supreme Kai's tone grew serious. "Using another set of Dragon Balls while our own are overburdened could trigger an even greater disaster. If a corrupted dragon were to emerge… it wouldn't just destroy a few planets. It could wipe out the entire universe."
Beerus grinned mockingly. "Scared of a little overuse, old man?"
Whis sighed. "Honestly… you two shouldn't even be in the same room."
The old Supreme Kai huffed. "Forget it, Goku. We'll leave the remaining planets for now."
He exchanged glances with Supreme Kai Shin and Kibito. They nodded, then turned to the group.
"Thank you, everyone. Take care."
With a flash of light, the three Kais disappeared using Instant Transmission.
Beerus looked at the empty sky, then turned to Vegeta.
"Vegeta, I want more of that delicious food—pack it up."
"Yes, Lord Beerus!" Vegeta saluted and motioned for the kitchen staff.
Soon, servants arrived carrying boxes of food, all labeled and sealed neatly.
Beerus stretched and yawned. "Whis, let's go."
"Yes, Lord Beerus."
Whis raised his staff and swept it through the air, gathering the food into a glowing sphere.
"Farewell, everyone!"
With a swirl of divine light, Whis and Beerus transformed into a stream of energy and vanished into the skies, heading back to the Realm of the Gods of Destruction.
