Shit, things with Elaine are even worse than I thought...
I figured she'd calm down the next day—that we'd talk at school as soon as we saw each other again.
But no.
It's actually gotten worse.
Without saying a word, she changed seats—moved to the far edge of the classroom—and the cruel, mocking comments from our classmates didn't take long to start.
«Ren and Elaine must've had a serious fight.»
«They seemed inseparable. He must've really messed up.»
«Yeah, maybe he even banged her mom too.»
Comments that obviously pissed off both me and Elaine... but surprisingly, someone else seemed even angrier: Brianne.
«What happened between them is none of your damn business! Shut up if it doesn't concern you!»
Who would've thought? That girl really has a heart of gold.
In our class, the desks are arranged in pairs.
Until yesterday, Elaine was sitting right next to me.
Now there's just an empty seat.
