"Uh…" Chen Qingling never expected someone would ask for her autograph, and even more so, for it to be a female student.

It made sense, really. Chen Qingling's appearance was attractive to everyone, regardless of gender.

Xiao Wu, standing nearby, felt a pang of jealousy, pouting. Why hadn't she thought to ask for Qingling's autograph?

Damn it!

Someone else had gotten there first!

No way!

She couldn't fall behind anymore!

She'd get an autograph from Qingling when they got back to the dormitory.

However, one request for an autograph led to a second, then a third, as a steady stream of students asked Chen Qingling for hers.

Some were even desperate, "Qingling-senpai, please, just one autograph!"

Chen Qingling's expression shifted slightly. She never imagined she'd be surrounded by an adoring mob of fans just for an autograph.

Xiao Wu, who had been trailing her, was pushed aside, looking resentful and sour.

She quietly reassured herself, not jealous at all.

Why be jealous? What was so great about an autograph? She shared a bed with Qingling! They slept together!

Was there anyone better than her? No!

Seeing the endless stream of people wanting autographs, Xiao Wu couldn't wait for Chen Qingling to finish. She pushed through the crowd, pulling Qingling along, and headed straight for the work-study dormitory.

She couldn't stand to be there for another second.

"Xiao Wu, what's wrong? Why are you upset? Why did you pull me away?" Chen Qingling asked, seeing her friend unhappy and confused.

She hadn't done anything, had she? She didn't understand why Xiao Wu was suddenly upset.

"It's nothing, I just feel like we're not from the same world."

"Huh?"

Chen Qingling was bewildered, completely unable to grasp what Xiao Wu meant.

They spent so much time together; how could they not be from the same world? Xiao Wu looked at Chen Qingling with complicated eyes. She was truly too innocent, always showing kindness to everyone.

Those people just now, to put it nicely, were fans. To put it less kindly, they were like paparazzi, only thinking of themselves and not considering Chen Qingling at all.

Wasn't it tiring for one person to give so many people autographs?

Xiao Wu's eyes welled up. "Qingling-jie, you can't be too kind-hearted. You think of everyone else, but you only neglect yourself."

Chen Qingling blinked. "Did I? I'm just doing what I'm supposed to."

"No, that's not your responsibility. You could have completely refused to sign for them."

"But… they're my classmates…"

"So what if they're your classmates? Are you close to them?"

Chen Qingling was rendered speechless by Xiao Wu's retort. She suddenly felt that Xiao Wu made a lot of sense.

Interpersonal relationships were her weak point.

Chen Qingling lowered her head and thought for a moment. "Xiao Wu, I understand. I'll learn to refuse others in the future."

Only then did Xiao Wu break into a smile. "That's more like it!"

"There's one more thing, Sister Qingling, I need to tell you in advance: No man is any good."

Seeing that Chen Qingling was completely clueless, Xiao Wu felt it necessary to inoculate her.

This was because Xiao Wu's father had abandoned her and her mother, leading to her poor impression of men.

She often wondered if her mother wouldn't have died at Bibi Dong's hands if her father hadn't abandoned them.

Soul Hunting Forest.

The master and disciple, each with their own agenda, sat in a cave, both surprisingly covered in dirt.

One used Yu Xiaogang for his own gain; the other used his disciple to leave his mark.

"So unlucky…" Thinking of their encounter just minutes ago, Yu Xiaogang suppressed the urge to curse.

Tang San lowered his head silently, wiping the mud off his body.

He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but ever since meeting Chen Qingling, his luck had been getting progressively worse.

He had almost fallen after leaving the academy and then fell into a trap with Yu Xiaogang in the Soul Hunting Forest.

This was why both of them were surprisingly covered in dirt.

"Master, what kind of spirit beast are you planning to get for me?"

The mention of spirit beasts perked Yu Xiaogang up, and he straightened his back.

"Xiao San, I've already thought of a plan for your spirit beast."

"Based on the ten core competencies of my Martial Soul, your Martial Soul, Blue Silver Grass, is gentle and not exclusive."

"Therefore, you don't necessarily have to absorb plant-type spirit beasts like our ancestors did."

Tang San's heart skipped a beat. Even though he hadn't read much, he couldn't lie to himself.

He already harbored some suspicion towards Yu Xiaogang, and now his doubts grew even stronger.

"I think it's better to be a bit more conservative."

"What? Xiao San, you don't trust me?"

"Xiao San, don't you want to try? If the first spirit ring is from another spirit beast, it might give your Blue Silver Grass powerful offensive capabilities!"

Honestly, Tang San was tempted.

He knew how useless his Blue Silver Grass was.

"Let's clean up and continue on our way."

"Okay."

After a simple brush-off of the dirt, the two continued their journey.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, Yu Xiaogang suddenly felt a tightening in his backside. He turned his head and was almost scared to death.

A four-legged snake, less than a hundred years old, had bitten his butt.

What incredible luck did he have today! Damn it! Yu Xiaogang's composure crumbled.

However, there was some good news: the snake biting him was not venomous, so he would only suffer some flesh wounds.

He quickly summoned his Martial Soul, Luo Sanpao, "Luo Sanpao, quickly save me."

Luo Sanpao let out a strange cry and immediately unleashed a fart towards Yu Xiaogang.

Pfft.

It was useful, but not entirely useful.

The four-legged snake was directly knocked out by the stench, but it still refused to let go of Yu Xiaogang's butt.

Smelling Luo Sanpao's foul fart, Yu Xiaogang's face turned green.

Enduring the urge to vomit, he called out to Tang San, "Xiao San, help me pull this spirit beast off."

The stench in the air lingered, and as Yu Xiaogang spoke, a bit of the odor was inhaled, nearly choking him.

If he didn't speak, he had to endure the pain in his backside; if he spoke, he had to eat farts.

He hadn't encountered many spirit beasts, but bad luck had certainly found him.

Tang San nodded, came behind Yu Xiaogang, covered his hand with Mysterious Jade Hand, and pulled with all his might.

"Hiss… Ah…"

A sharp pain ripped through his backside, and Yu Xiaogang couldn't help but grit his teeth and cry out.

"Master, it's out."

Yu Xiaogang looked drained, his breathing ragged. He had managed to cling to life.

"That's all for today, Tang San. I'll find a suitable spirit beast for you tomorrow."

"Okay."

They found a relatively safe cave to stay in for the time being.

"Luo Sanpao, guard the cave entrance. Alert me if there's any unusual movement."

"Ao ao ao!"

The atmosphere gradually quieted down. After some hesitation, Tang San finally voiced his inner thoughts, "Master, are you using me to establish your reputation? And to prove your theories?"

His question rendered Yu Xiaogang silent. He let out a bitter smile.

"What? Did you hear about what happened in the cafeteria? Do you think I'm useless?"

"I admit, I wanted to use a disciple to establish my name, and I also want to prove my theories."

Without practical application, theories remained just that – theories. No one would pay him much attention, and he wouldn't be respected.
