Chapter 1 - The Storm and the Silence

Scene 1: First Day of College – Chaos Meets Calm

The college gates opened like a movie set. Laughter, voices, scooters honking — chaos everywhere. Payal clutched her books close to her chest and stepped in, her long braid brushing her back as she took timid steps, eyes lowered.

She was wearing a simple light blue kurta and white leggings. No makeup. No drama. Just soft eyes and a heart that raced even with the sound of loud laughter.

She wasn't made for places like this. She belonged to a quiet world of paintbrushes and poetry.

Suddenly—

HONK!

A black sports bike sped past, stopping with a dramatic skid right at the center of the college courtyard.

Everyone turned. And there he was.

Dev Kapoor.

Leather jacket. Sunglasses. Tall, broad-shouldered, and with a smirk that could melt confidence or destroy it.

He got off the bike like he owned the ground he walked on.

Girls whispered. Boys envied.

Payal looked up once, just once… and her heart stopped.

He was powerful. Like thunder wrapped in a man. And terrifying.

"New faces everywhere," Dev said to his gang. "Time to make college more interesting."

He noticed her. Quiet. Bookish. Different.

And for the first time, his smile softened.

Scene 2: A Sudden Encounter

Payal rushed to her classroom, trying to avoid the loud crowds. She didn't see the corner coming — and bumped right into a tall figure.

Her books fell. So did her water bottle.

She gasped. Looked up.

It was Dev.

He didn't bend. Just stood, arms crossed, looking down at her.

"You alright?" he asked, voice deep, smooth.

Payal froze. Heart thudding.

She didn't speak. Just picked up her books with trembling hands.

Dev chuckled. "Shy or scared?"

He stepped closer. She stepped back.

He saw the fear in her eyes — and paused.

"Relax. I don't bite… unless someone steals my bike," he winked, then walked away.

Payal stood still. Her palms were cold.

Who was he? And why did he feel like danger wrapped in a smile?

Scene 3: Payal's Diary Entry That Night

"He's too loud. Too big. Too… dangerous.

Why did he look at me like that?

I came here to study… not to lose myself in someone who feels like a storm.

I must stay away from him. I must."
