[Devon’s Point of View]
“What do you mean there is still left in the box?”
All of us turned around to look at the old man, puzzled at what he said. I remembered the box was empty when my sister and I pointed the bottle of the cure to mom and I was sure that there was nothing left in there after mom took the lock of hair that turned into a bracelet around her wrist.
Diana looked at me as if she, too, was trying to figure out what the old man said.
“Are you just delaying us so we can stay here longer?” Uncle Killian glared at the old guardian and I started to worry. Was there any danger waiting for all of us outside once again, just like what happened before the last time we were here?
“Did you look well inside?”
Mom was the first to step up to the platform once again and then went to the carved table where the old silver box was. She tried to look as her brows met in a puzzled expression on her face and we all got curious when her eyes widened a bit.
