I couldn’t believe this was happening.
I never expected this would even happen!
Dominic, Killian and I walked through the forest in the middle of the night with slow, careful steps. We had to be extra careful due to the thick fog, and we needed to remain calm so as not to attract the attention of the beasts roaming in this part of the forest. The three of us remained silent and as much as I wanted to explain it to my husband, I preferred to just keep my mouth shut because I knew he would burst into anger if I ever dared say a word.
The surroundings around us were filled with tension, and I could tell that Killian was being extra careful not to upset Dominic anymore. I didn’t know why they suddenly decided to go with me but it was bad that my husband saw me and Killian talking in the middle of the night and in a place where I shouldn’t be.
I defied my husband. That’s what I did.
