I nodded gratefully. "Thank you. And Liam... I'm sorry. For last night, for the things I said, for everything. I know that doesn't excuse my behavior, but I need you to know that I never meant to hurt you."
"Next time you raise a hand to me," Liam said quietly, "you'll be at the pack hospital getting treated. Are we clear?"
The warning sent a chill down my spine, but I nodded. I deserved that and worse for what I'd done.
A sudden thought struck me, a nagging worry that had been lurking at the back of my mind. "Call Lily's house," I said suddenly. "I want to make sure she's okay."
Liam raised an eyebrow but pulled out his phone, dialing the number for Lily's house. He put it on speaker, and we both waited as it rang.
"Hello?" A female voice answered – one of the maids, by the sound of it.
"Hi, this is Beta Liam," Liam said professionally. "I was calling to check on Lily. Is she available?"
