“Of course,” he shrugged then looked at me with something that might have been hope in his dark eyes. "So, since we're both currently without partners for the evening, what would you say to sneaking in a dance with me? Consider it compensation for everything that’s happened tonight."
The suggestion sent a flutter of excitement through my chest. Dancing with Nathan Morrison? The idea was both thrilling and dangerous, especially given the way my body had been responding to his proximity all evening.
"I'd like that," I said, unable to keep the smile from spreading across my face.
"Excellent," Nathan said, offering me his arm in a gesture that was both old-fashioned and charming. "Shall we?"
