Looking at the guy in front of him who had wrapped himself up so tightly—wasn't he hot?
Also, his face was just asking for a beating. That beard was way too thick, and the snot was actually dripping from his nose. Disgusting.
The first thought that flashed through Lynn's mind was: Idiot.
Or maybe… mentally challenged?
The guy with the snotty nose was none other than a Celestial Dragon—those so-called descendants of the Creator, enjoying supreme privilege in this world. His name was Saint Charlos, the same guy who'd get punched in the face by Straw Hat Luffy a year later.
At that moment, Saint Charlos noticed Lynn standing in front of him. Not only was this lowly commoner not kneeling down, but he dared to look him in the eyes with such disdain. Charlos immediately felt deeply insulted.
"You… you lowly servant! You filthy pariah! Why aren't you kneeling before me?" Charlos screamed. "I'm going to feed you to the pet I bought at the auction yesterday!"
What the hell is this lunatic talking about?
Lynn was instantly pissed off—and slapped Charlos hard across the face.
What he didn't expect was that the guy smacked into the wall behind him and fainted on the spot.
Lynn blinked. Wait… that was a Celestial Dragon? No wonder he was so arrogant.
Looking at the unconscious man lying on the floor, Lynn realized he needed to run. Immediately.
Because in the One Piece world, hitting a Celestial Dragon was no small matter. Once word got out, the Navy Headquarters would dispatch an Admiral without hesitation. And Lynn? He wasn't dumb enough to think he could outrun one of those monsters.
He took a few steps, then hesitated. There should be Celestial Dragon bodyguards outside, right?
But aside from this idiot who saw his face, no one else had. I still have a chance to escape!
Driven by the urge to survive, Lynn instantly came up with a plan: use the Space Fruit.
"Let's go... Pah!" Lynn walked back, spat a thick glob of phlegm onto Saint Charlos' face, and made his escape.
I already hit him. If I don't spit on him, how can I call myself a man of culture—and how can I face my cool, handsome readers?
"Space Field!"
A circular bubble expanded from Lynn's palm, engulfing the restroom wall. With a quick space swap, Lynn reappeared outside the building—and ran for it.
He headed straight for the coast. Once the Navy found out that Saint Charlos had been attacked, they would definitely lock down the entire Sabaody Archipelago. If Lynn's face was remembered by that idiot, he'd be in serious trouble.
Trying to avoid the crowds, Lynn ran for a while until he spotted a beautiful woman walking toward the island. That figure, that regal presence... it had to be Boa Hancock, known as the most beautiful woman in the world, an extremely powerful fighter, and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
Lynn remembered her backstory well. With her temper, she was bound to clash with someone. And if the island was placed under lockdown, would Hancock agree to be searched by the Navy?
Lynn felt it necessary to warn her.
Hancock and her two sisters watched Lynn running toward them in confusion. Ignoring their puzzled looks, Lynn gasped out, "A Celestial Dragon just got knocked out. This island's about to be locked down. You'd better get out of here!"
Without waiting for a reply, he sprinted toward the coast.
Just hearing the words Celestial Dragon made Hancock and her sisters tense with fear. Then confusion set in. Was there really someone insane enough to hit a Celestial Dragon?
After a long pause, Hancock stammered, "Did… did that man just say…"
The green-haired sister reacted quickly. "Sister, we should set sail—now! We can come back later."
Hancock was still dazed when her two sisters dragged her away...
...
Lynn reached the coast and quickly used his powers to board a large ship that had just begun to set sail.
Unfortunately for him, this wasn't just any ship—it was a warship. A Marine flag bearing a dog's head fluttered above it.
On deck, Vice Admiral Garp was chatting with Admiral Aokiji when they both noticed someone had boarded. Bold move.
The surrounding Marines, sensing Garp's attention shift, all straightened up and got to work properly.
Garp walked curiously to where Lynn had landed and asked, "Boy, who are you? Why are you on my ship?"
A bead of cold sweat slid down Lynn's temple. He recognized this guy—Garp.
But Lynn quickly calmed himself. Garp didn't know he had punched a Celestial Dragon, and besides, Garp was known to be fair-minded and not overly extreme.
Lynn replied, "Me? My name's Sleeping God. I was being chased by human traffickers and panicked, so I snuck aboard."
"Sleeping God? God?" Garp narrowed his eyes with suspicion.
Not entirely Lynn's fault. That really was what his friends used to call him.
Back in school, he had a habit of falling asleep during class—and once dreamed that the teacher was lying… cough cough Never mind.
A second bead of sweat formed on Lynn's forehead. He quickly corrected himself. "I mean, my name is Hyde D. Lynn."
What's wrong with a sea of forests from China?
"D?" Garp scowled inwardly. Great. Another troublesome kid. He knew that people with the initial D were rarely ordinary.
Lynn smiled awkwardly. "Vice Admiral Garp, just call me Lynn. Can you give me a ride?"
Garp blinked. Most people would be groveling by now. This kid… had guts.
Seeing Garp nod, Lynn relaxed and walked over to the deck.
"Vice Admiral Garp, can I get a glass of water? I was being chased just now—I'm parched."
Admiral Aokiji, lying lazily in a deck chair, turned slightly red.
Wait… isn't that my drink?
And he hadn't even touched it yet.
Lynn, naturally, had noticed Aokiji lying there. But he wasn't worried. He knew the Admiral wasn't the type to slaughter people indiscriminately. Plus, after the disaster in the bathroom earlier, Lynn was truly parched—so he drank the whole glass.
Aokiji took off his eye mask, sat up, and said, "Hey… friend. Shouldn't you ask the owner before drinking their tea?"
Lynn exhaled contentedly, then smiled. "Admiral Aokiji, thank you for the tea. Sorry for helping myself—I was just too thirsty. How about I brew you another cup?"
"..." Aokiji was stunned. So polite? He waved his hand. "It's fine. I'm not thirsty. By the way, your name's Lynn, right?"
Lynn nodded. "Yes, dear Admiral!"
"Hahaha…" Garp, who had returned, burst out laughing. He sat beside Lynn and clapped him on the shoulder. "What a polite boy. Now—how exactly did you get on this ship?"
